Re: Fallout VIII: Another Thread Needs Your Help General
I apologize if I'm a little out of line for asking this, but I've been wracking my brain trying to find a mod I used not too long ago. What it did was transformed Sanctuary into a more lived-in place, including a pool, restoring ruined houses, and a lot of decorations to make it look like the world stood still for two hundred years. The feature I really liked about it, however, was that it turned all the houses into something you could wire to a power source, and you could just wire machines to the house on the inside. Makes it really easy to turn Sanctuary into cool settlement.
I could have sworn this was the mod "Do your d*** job, Codsworth", but it isn't doing the trick. Does anyone know what mod I'm talking about?Spoiler: My inventory:
1 Sentient Sword
1 Jammy Dodger (I was promised tea)
1 Godwin Point.

Use plasma weapons on enemies. Exploit Jamaica Plain, and head for the Corvega plant or the cannery near Far Harbor's start.

Re: Fallout VIII: Another Thread Needs Your Help General
Abraxo is common enough, and iirc there are a few boxes in the lexington laundromat (and pretty much everywhere else). Plenty of aluminum at corvega and lvl 5 is fine for there. That leaves nuclear material which is definitely the hardest, which from a lore perspective is really odd since everyone of those wrecked cars used to run on nuclear material. Have you considered the mod Lootable Cars? I like it from a realism perspective (because why shouldn't I be able to scavenge in cars) and the loot is generally low quality with the exception of nuclear material which is fairly common, as it should be based on the lore.

I meant plasma infused. And yes Fiber Optics are what come from Jamaica Plains. Check the back of Starlight drive in for a lot of Abraxo.

Isn't nuclear material found in alarm clocks and Blast Radius board games? There might even be some of that stuff around Sanctuary Hills, I forget.

Re: Fallout VIII: Another Thread Needs Your Help General
Yep.
Basically I'm trying to scrape together stuff to build a robot workbench so I can build a robot provisioner between Sanctuary and Red Rocket.
Sidenote:
That bug I spoke of before? It happens when a robot provisioner has a route that crosses loading zones. So between Red Rocket and Sanctuary should be fine. They're within the same loading zone.
My plan is to upgrade that provisoner to a Sentry Cyberdemon Murderbot eventually. It's very short patrol route will make it possible to guard both settlements virtually at once.Blizzard Battletag: UnderDog#21677

The back-mounted Cluster Grenades are exceptional at dealing with the Rust Devils that will invariably attack.
Also, don't forget, you're going to need the parts to build the initial robot itself.I am trying out LPing. Check out my channel here: Triaxx2

Re: Fallout VIII: Another Thread Needs Your Help General
oh I know.
At least I could Pimp My Codsworth.
He seems to work about 20 times better than Dogmeat as a body guard. I just took out the raiders at the satellite station without any trouble whatsoever.
Spoiler
Top Left to Bottom Right:
- Protectron Arm with factory armor and Flamer
- Actuated Top Torso
- Factory Back and Front Torso (with added carrying capacity)
- Factory Mr Handy Eyes (Middle and Left)
- Actuated Thruster
- Actuated Right Mr Handy Arm with Sawblade
- Actuated Middle Mr Handy Arm with Pincher
- Actuated Left Mr Handy Arm with Nuka Cola Mister*
* The mister is pointless, but since adding a weapon anywhere on a Mr Handy makes the default flamer disappear... I just wanted to put something on that arm.

Re: Fallout VIII: Another Thread Needs Your Help General
So......best friend Tabatha.....
6 years prior to the events of FNV (i.e., 2275), Rhonda breaks down and Tabitha stops traveling, ultimately forgetting where she was going and what she was doing until you repair Rhonda. Rhonda quickly gets her moving again saying they're going to catch up. Stories circulate about them from the East.
Rampant speculation time; who were Tabitha & Rhonda going to catch up with?

Re: Fallout VIII: Another Thread Needs Your Help General
I don't feel the game needs any comprehensive mods, though .
I found a mod that let's you add the plasma gun that some Mr Gutsys have. Might install that one.
For now I replaced the mister with a second saw; I found that he sometimes use the mister instead of the flamer.
Also, the bug with robot provisioners is still there for me. I created one, but it just stands still in place and won't walk. So... I won't connect Sanctuary and Red Rocket until I get what'shername? Jezebel? ADA and Jez are immune to the bugs since they count as real NPCs by the game.Blizzard Battletag: UnderDog#21677

Re: Fallout VIII: Another Thread Needs Your Help General
Yeah, that's the one I thought it was, but it wasn't working for me. The houses weren't showing up as something that could be wired. Somehow, I did manage to wire one up and it started working as I remembered. Honestly, it's a great mod for when you want Sanctuary to be a unique settlement, a kind of slice of the past.
As an aside, I am trying to start up a new game of it with a different character. Normally, I play some variation of Nate Marlowe, a sniper/combat knife "black ops" type character with a combat focus. Although he builds up Sanctuary and Red Rocket, he treats other settlement sites as little more than glorified safe houses. For my new character I know it's going to be Nora, and that it'll have a civic (full-on Minuteman) focus to it, but I'm not sure how to play her so that she doesn't drift back into Marlowe's commando style. I'm leaning towards making her a Silver Shroud fangirl who emulates the vigilante's "loud and proud" approach to extending the justice where the law can't reach when not acting as the General.
Does anyone else have character archetypes they just tend to gravitate towards in this game?Spoiler: My inventory:

I'm partial to heavy guns and power armor. I know it's sub-optimal, but at the same time, stomping into places and spraying missiles and minigun bullets is quite a lot of fun.

Re: Fallout VIII: Another Thread Needs Your Help General
There are two builds that works the best, though most are workable:
1. Stealth Sniper
2. Power Armored short range / melee.
Just like in Skyrim a long range stealth character becomes ridiculously OP very very early in the game.
Btw, I realized when I started this playthrough that I must have upped to Hard difficulty last playthrough; I put it back on normal and now Codsworth (I'm only lvl 12) easts everything for breakfast.

Re: Fallout VIII: Another Thread Needs Your Help General
If you can aim that is. If not (like me) it is terribly terribly terrible. So thank god for VATS and rifles not having a parabolic flight path.
Something else though: I realize fire arms are easy to come by in Fallout but ammo is rarer. So why are there no crossbows or bows in the game? I mean if you deem a knuckle, a lead pipe or similar a viable weapon, why not shot arrows and bolts?
(I realize there's probably a mod for that but I wonder why the base game has none. Not even a steam punk-ish pressure powered arrow 'dispenser')Last edited by Spore; 2018-02-20 at 06:51 AM.
