Honestly, I'd say in many ways the look of the art peaked back around the time that Hanners was introduced. It was more stylized, but it was distinct and the characters were easily distinguishable.

Dora is a natural platinum blonde. She dies her hair permanent black. Which means that if she wants to go back to blonde, she needs to cut the hair where the die ends and grow it out from there, and if she wants to stay black haired, she needs to regularly re-dye her roots.

We have seen her not do the latter regularly enough, and thus have blonde roots, and she once did cut off all her dyed hair and was blonde for a period.

I don't know for sure that it's necessarily grammatically incorrect, but "at" has more singular connotations at least. "I'm proficient at tye sword" sounds good, but "i'm proficient at all swords" sounds weird for the same reason "I'm at the malls" sounds weird.

Maybe it's just me, but I can tell them apart fairly easily? Emily has straight hair, almond-shaped eyes and a less ruddy complexion; I know that it can vary very slightly from comic to comic, but I thought it was pretty obvious that she was of Asian descent and Dora isn't.

I admit some annoyance at Dora's comments, since...Well, smooching a singular lady isn't really cause to label another lady as bisexual, but I think the conversation is meant to establish that Dora and Faye are very close and Dora is trying to make Faye more comfortable.

Everyone's journey is different, and self-label is the only one that really has any reasonable usefulness (outside of things like healthcare stats and stuff). If Faye now thinks of herself as bi, that's about all there is to say on the matter. OTOH, I that that frankly this seems a little out of character, given how recently Faye was in denial about even one same-sex attraction.

I'd actually argue that Faye has had the most change (if by virtue of being the longest-running female character), although she's actually started to swing back around to earlier versions, having hit peak divergence from initial appearance during the robot arena arc, when she was unrecognizable as the same person from the pre-500 strips.

From beginning of strip until now, yes. I was talking about the direct before and after of this specific art change. Dora used to be very distinct, and has regressed to the mean of Jeph's female character mold.

True, but that's always been the case for any out-of-focus characters in the story. Anyone not primary to the story becomes random character who gets to react to the in-focus character's big drama or wackiness.

When Emily is in the comic, we can tell it's Emily.

Dora has lost a lot of what made her immediately distinct as Dora, so what when she's in the comic, some readers have to stop and say "that's not Emily, is it? I mean I think it's Dora but maybe it's someone else..."

Might be a grey zone? Re-selling leftovers from human to human is definitely illegal, but with robots... you could argue that by just sniffing it they can't contaminate the food, but on the other hand, they are still customers.

It's not the robots that I'm thinking of, but more so that the tea is being sat out in the open for a long time - 15 minutes to an hour, maybe? - until it cools down and stales. This is happening in a public space, where dozens of other people are coming in from outside in their street clothes, passing by, using the furniture, and so on. And is then being mixed into a container with dozens of other cups that have been treated similarly and left overnight.

I'm not particularly squeamish, but I know people who wouldn't drink tea that had gone cold if it had just been left out in their own house for a few minutes, let alone unattended in a cafe with strangers for ~8 hours.

It could also be a civil rights violation, too - I'm not sure of the status of AI's compared to humans in that regard, but the QC universe seems to be a pretty inclusive one. If your "but with robots..." is actually a thing, it implies that AI's don't have the same rights as humans when it comes to a contract of transaction.

Why should the robots care what Dora does with the tea after they used it? I don't see how their rights are violated when leftovers are used for other purposes ...
