The best version.
Sadly, I've been unable to find a heavyweight league nearby, but it sounds like a lot of fun.I would really like to see a game made by Obryn, Kurald Galain, and Knaight from these forums.

Re: Peelee's Chicken Fried Random Banter Thread #220
Mostly the explanation was that they're two very different mental states, switching between them is hard, and neither is useful for the other. Like I said, I still haven't actually found a suitable chessboxing league, and while I do know a few other people who would probably be game to try chessboxing I also have about a foot and sixty pounds on basically all of them, and they have weight classes for a reason.

I do maintain that boxing is a more strategic and cerebral than one might surmise looking at the sport from the outside.
That said, that makes perfect sense. When you put it like that the change in orientation required to succeed is probably outside of my abilities.
Boxing the Gathering, though. When can we expect that?Last edited by Lake Huron; 2019-01-15 at 10:26 PM.

My brother just snapped a passive-aggressive "...and your not even going to say 'excuse me'? Wow." at me before I was even finished with my belch. My mouth was also full at the time.
I have digestive troubles! Leave me alone about it!
I use braces (also known as "curly brackets") to indicate sarcasm. If there are none present, I probably believe what I am saying; should it turn out to be inaccurate trivia, please tell me rather than trying to play along with an apparent joke I don't know I'm making.

Well, the good news is that gluten-free cooking has made a lot of progress over the past few years! My dad and both of my sisters are gluten-free, and they highly recommend Udi's if you're looking for bread that tastes like bread. There's also a mix called "chebe" for delicious cheesy breadsticks, pizza crusts, and more. I also have a Word document with a ton of solid gluten-free recipes, if you're interested.

Re: Peelee's Chicken Fried Random Banter Thread #220
Car accidents are fun! About 9:50 I was in the passenger side of a truck going straight down the road, a car ran a stop sign into the side of the truck (my side naturally) but weirdly their passenger was the only person seriously hurt. I was fine at the accident, my whole body is stiffening up now so I will be going to urgent care tomorrow to make sure I don't have anything wrong with me.

Re: Peelee's Chicken Fried Random Banter Thread #220
Well I need a moan, because two annoying, if admittedly relatively unimportant compared to car accidents, things have happened.
The first is that my crush has, in essence, let me down gently. The words 'I think we're better being good friends than lousy sexual partners' may have been involved (quote mined to the point it's somewhat misleading, the original message was more hypothetical).
The second is that my boss keeps changing shifts and putting me on more and weekend days due to not having a family, which has made surveying time with friends nearly impossible and potentially scuppered the campaign I had had planned before characters had even been made.Last edited by Anonymouswizard; 2019-01-17 at 11:19 AM.

Re: Peelee's Chicken Fried Random Banter Thread #220
Joy. I was in a somewhat-similar car accident a few months ago (someone turned right on a red light right into the side of my car, which was going through the intersection on a green light). Hope it turns out you're ok.
I wonder if there are any stats in terms of if a few people cause most of the car accidents, because it sure seems like each time someone hits my car they've done it before and are muttering something like "not again". (My family has been in 3 not-at-fault accidents in the last 5-ish years, two of which involved me and one of which involved my dad. 2 of them involved us proceeding through an intersection on a green while someone else turned into us when they did not have a green light, and the other involved someone rear-ending me when I had to come to stop, along with all of the other cars on the road, due to a garbage truck about 10 cars in front of me stopping to pick up a garbage can. I'm getting really fed up with other people smashing up cars I was rather fond of.)
I have less to say about this (I am completely unqualified to give any kind of relationship advice other than don't be me, because I am truly terrible at it), but I will affirm that that does not sound particularly fun.

Re: Peelee's Chicken Fried Random Banter Thread #220
1) While that is never fun, I would say that a gentle let down resolution is the better option if at least one party has skepticism of things not working out well.
2) Work culture like that is rough. I know that I've read of studies observing that there is a large pressure on single childless people to take on more work basically because "you have no reason to be at home, so you might as well take the extra time." It's a serious problem, and it's difficult to make changes because you have people crying that you are taking away their time with their family.
In my opinion, there's a similar issue with having set stat holidays vs. allowing a specified number of stat holidays, and develop various religious calendars that allows people to choose to take their holidays (which is a name derived from "holy days") following a schedule significant to them. Otherwise, you have some staff are asking for time off to observe their faith, while others get their's for free.

Re: Peelee's Chicken Fried Random Banter Thread #220
Thanks, I'm heading over to the urgent care now. I tried to get in to see my primary but there are no openings for over a week :/
This is the second time someone totaled a truck of my brothers running a stop sign and turning into him. Both times they were driving small cars and got more injured then him, makes you wonder about drivers in Oregon.
Yeah I think there are some people who are just bad drivers, and they tend to cause the rest of us the most distress and accidents.
