Re: Failing Saves
How am I supposed to compete with your output when I need that free time to be, well, free!
Seriously, between college, D&D plotting (I DM), driving lessons, and Christmas preparations, I have maybe enough time to do three or four Remember comics a week. I do two because it's good to have some time undedicated to anything.
Now really: Slow down or I'll make you an offer you can't refuse

Re: Failing Saves
Slow down? It is blasphemous to even suggest such a thing!

Re: Failing Saves
I can so totally feel with him. I've given up playing rogues because it's just frustrating that everyone else can do the same thing as you. They just need to involve some damage (either to themselves or to an object/person in their way).
Especially its no fun if the DM lets everyone have Trapfinding as a free feat just from watching the Rogue searching for traps.

Re: Failing Saves
A few of the big names in 3F are out on other projects at the moment. I'm out until Tajira doing Remember, Salmon is here with Failing Saves, Threeshades is doing play-by-post games I thinking.
It'll pass eventually, I'm sure, for now I think the little names in 3F should get off their butts and stop being so little

I have no words all. No words left to praise you....
This comic is so good. I enjoy it more than I do with OotS now.

Re: Failing Saves
Only becuase it updates so fast, it will cool off later.
Rich's comics are better.
But its not saying anything bad on you salmon, the fact you are not that far behind means you are doing a wonderful job.

Re: Failing Saves
I really enjoy reading these, they're all very witty. It's good to know that some good old British humour is being used to its fullest extent.
However, we wouldn't want the Salmon's stream to run dry now, would we?

Re: Failing Saves
Actually, on a "comparative basis," you're slightly ahead of Rich. When Rich started OotS, he intended on it being a "Joke a Strip" comic, but later decided to go to a "Story Driven" comic. You two seem to have started with a story, and adopted the signature art style of Rich Burlew.
20 strips in, Rich was still "wandering about."
But in it's own way, this is what D&D is all about. The same (mostly the same) rules, entirely different stories. Rich's "players" (yes, I know there are no real players) are higher level, yours are lower. But low level characters can have just as exciting of adventures as higher level. First and second level characters chasing thieves from the local Thieves Guild by leaping from rooftop to rooftop are having as much fun as as high level characters exploring a demon infested temple.
It's the thrill of knowing that your (character's) life is on the line, that your enemy (DM) is as clever, if not more clever, than you are. Thanks to Ceika (X2), Yeril, Holammer and Dr. Bath for the Avatars!

Re: Failing Saves
Actually, AS, one issue is that OOTS is written by an american for an american audeince, whereas you're british writing from a british POV, so some of your nuances may not come across as well to an american audience. Th8s don't let an american tell you you're not as good as an american comic.
Also, you're just starting out. Go look at early OOTS strips and see how they've evolved over time, then give yourself some more.
