Ok, so Hannabel knows about the same as Anika, but Macharius has heard of it - probably from one of his tutors, or something. Ntharis is an independant world, unclaimed by any dynasty. It has very limited mineral wealth, and is extremely resistant to Imperial occupation and conversion to the Imperial Faith, the locals (who have voidships but no warp drives) have seen off the last couple attempts in extremely violent fashion. They don't hate the Imperium, they just don't want to be ruled by them, and their world has little to make the task of conquering it actually worthwhile. The populace is centered in a few major pre-hive cities, and the surrounding land is still good for farming, which is what it is used for. Trade with the locals has happened in the past, they're perfectly happy to take Imperial goods and physical money in exchange for their produce and foodstuffs. Their weapons are largely inferior to Imperial ones, and a determined invasion would probably succeed if enough lives were poured into it, but it's likely the locals would fight to the breaking point to stop it from happening, and even once defeated there'd be rebellions popping up in pockets near constantly for quite some time.

TLDR: Conquest isn't really worth it, but if you're nice to them they'll sell you food.

How do their ships compare to Imperial ones? Heretics don't need to be getting Warp drives from raiders, that could cause issues. Although of they don't know they need a Gellar Field, it may be self-correcting...

Well they've only got one system, so it's not like there's all that many of them. They probably have like three ships, tops, at around frigate size and roughly comparable to Imperial with lighter armour. Winning in space would be a lot easier than winning on the ground.

Also, since Reavers tend to be Chaos worshippers, or close to it, limiting the heretics' exposure to such blasphemies is probably a good idea. Don't want the planet turning into a new Chaos base just because they ran across some weird idol while stripping the ship for parts...

Hi all, been a couple days since anyone's posted. Is it just forum slowness causing issues? I don't notice that as much due to my hours, but I gather it's been a real problem during the day.

If hunting boars and putting in work at the colony doesn't grab your guys' attention, we could pivot to the Ntharis reaver ship instead. That seemed like something everyone was kind of interested in investigating.

The forums have been hit or miss for me. I couldn't get through at all a couple days ago, but today it's been better.

I'm happy with either route. I really like the colony and would enjoy doing a little more with it, but pirates are always fun. I'd love to see a new planet and get more scrap for the Terminus!

I think I was clear that Hannabel would have preferred going to Ntharis, but since the majority seemed to prefer a boar hunt or other colony-related work I didn't want to belabour the point. After all, we just came off a really long stretch which was all about Hannabel's back story - I think it's only fair to let others' interests come first for a while. So if I'm silent IC, it's because Hannabel will ultimately accept what others decide.

Surely we could do one and then the other. A little colony time and then sail to Ntharis. Is there anything that Hannabel might enjoy at Port Davis? I hate to think that anybody's going to be bored. Maybe she could be doing things with Galimina in a bit of a time-skip, so you still have something to write about during the hunt? Although I assumed that Hannabel would be involved to some degree. Who else will drive the truck and do the actual shooting, while the Rogue Traders sit in the back, drinking and gossiping?

And Leon, do you think that Ravia might be interested in obtaining DNA samples from some maybe-giant boars? Think of the possibilities!

Yeah that sounds like a good plan to me. Shouldn't take too much time off for hunting, we do want to prevent any possible advanced recidivist warships.

Of course. Warp Travel being what it is, getting there would probably take you about a week anyways. Maybe a little less, your ship is specifically very fast at Warp. Not like spending a few days here is going to significantly delay going there. I'll start planning for that as the adventure after this one.

I was also just thinking that Kennoch would obviously reach out to the local Navigators in this isolated little system, but they probably don't have any, yeah? If the whole point is that we're trying to keep this community from being able to travel past their star. The Navis of that pirate ship has gotta be as dead as the rest of the crew, but if the locals do want to start their own fleet, they'd need to acquire some Navigators. I'll do my best to not get kidnapped.

Edit: and another thing. Potato mentioned wanting to do some training with his Praetorians, using your house rules. I'm looking for the chance to do the same with Kennoch's personal guard. Just the best, first squad; I'll need the bonuses for a small group, with my awful Fellowship. Looks like the base duration is 12 weeks, and I assume it'd just be a quick summary/time-skip.

I'm not necessarily asking for the chance to do this now, if we want to reach Ntharis quickly, but it's on my to-do list if we have a chance.

So, has anyone else noticed that our two prior OOC threads have disappeared? There was a discussion about it on the board issues board, and apparently OOC threads are automatically deleted when they're more than a year old. I'm pretty sure I've read those two threads well after that deadline though, so...weird. They're gone now, though.

No i hadnt, but for a forum which keeps everything else (even if "cloaked") its a bit bizarre, because who knows when someone might need to reference a older thread and they let the full of mostly junk discussion threads stay

I did notice that. It's happened to me before, for games I'm in. OOC threads are supposed to expire and go away after a year, I think there may have been something wrong with the cleanup script that recently got fixed. That's just speculation, though.

Well that's annoying I know I've read ooc threads for other games that were much older then a few years but I assume they're all gone as well now.

I wish I had an easy way to back up these threads, other than copy/pasting every post, page by page. Something to look into when we get to the end of this one, I suppose.

So, are we about ready to run through the boar hunt and head to the next planet, or is there more to do in this conversation? I enjoy spreading our legends, but now that we've done that, and we've discussed colony plans a bit, I'm personally ready to move on.

I think you can, at very least, get to an archive mode where it displays more than one page at a time, but I forget how to do that.
