Think I need to vote for "Plotting, ranting, and menacing the countryside".
Times being what they are, the stars aligning and the End of All Things barely registered as background noise.

    Tallied.

I have to admit that I'm slowly coming round to the "vote for as many as you want" rule - it does seem to handle large numbers of titles better.

It's been mathmatically proven that approval voting is objectively superior to plurality. Check this out.

All voting methods are simply mob rule under different names. Approval simply gets a higher percentage of the mob.

Clearly, rather than democratic "mob rule" we should be ruled by the technocratic elite! A.K.A., Sparks! Look how well that works out in Europa!

I wonder what's going to happen when the Dreen see this creature. Is it possible that this one is a lot bigger than they expect? Are they going to "Nope!" their way out of the battle once they've seen it?

Also, why do the Dreen need the lantern at all?

I dunno if they need the Lantern specifically, but they mentioned they cannot get through the temporal blockade. And since the creature is in the middle of it...

I like those, with the "countryside" one being my fav of the lot.

Thanks for the link - that was interesting.

We had one "office expert" at work who hated First Past The Post, and had come up with some marvelous and complicated system of voting, and was throughly deflated when I pointed out to him that it had to be easy enough to implement and simple enough for everyone to understand. That last bit is a very difficult bar to clear.

A very simple fix to most problems in first-past-post is the French presidential election model:

If anyone gets >50% of the vote, they're the president.

If that doesn't happen, there's a second round, but the only candidates are those who came in first and second in the previous round.

(But that's academic, we're voting for a thread title, not for who has the nuclear launch codes...)

Kjarl is asserting himself vis-a-vis the Dreen. "By the spiral" probably tells us something about Dreen religion.

I wonder if the larger castle will share the smaller castle's appreciation for the Agatha statues?
