    Musing to himself as he chugs along down the trail, Warren gazes at all the trash piled around, "On the way back, I'll take some time to see if any of this junk is worth at least a gold piece..." coming up near the chasm and seeing the large wolves go on alert, he comes to a stop, the mech's armor redeploying as he lifts his gun arm. Grimacing at hurting 'dogs', he sighs and hopes they run away rather than attack. He'd always been a dog person.

    The wolves do seem hostile. Once they lock eyes on the machine-armored person, they rush forward with snarling roars and teeth bared. They close the gap surprisingly fast, seeking to surround Warren despite one taking a shot into the front shoulder.

    Warren's second shot again strikes true into the chest muscles of the beast. It might very well be on death's door by the amount of blood that stains it's fur, but it continues to pursue and bring it's jaws to bear.

    Meanwhile, it's kin circles to flank Warren. A practiced instinctual maneuver when hunting bigger or dangerous prey. It too snapped at the legs in an effort to unbalance and topple the mech.

    The magical bullet finds its mark again and the first wolf stumbles and falls, skidding into the dirt. The blood seeps from the bullet holes slowly. Obviously, the heart no longer pumping it through the arteries.

    The second wolf doesn't relent, perhaps even more enraged at seeing its kin fall. It roars and snaps with ivory fangs toward the metal frame.

    The shot was much weaker than the previous ones and this wolf hardly flinches at the fresh wound as it snaps it's jaws at Warren, taking advantage of the need to focus on shooting the weapon

    The wolf snarled at the reprimand, as if clearly understanding the words that Warren spoke. It seemed prepared to redouble its efforts, leaping for the chest. Unfortunately for it, the path placed its head directly in line with the barrel of the gun. The shot range out and the body crumpled, bereft a large portion of its head and jaw.

    As quick as the attack had started, it was over. The crevasse was eerily quiet. The pathway that the wolves were guards was the only exit, unless Warren chose to backtrack. A light breeze swept down from above, stirring the dust around the wolves and carried the iridescent powder of their disintegrating bodies float about the machine armor.

    Quickly converting the gems to coinage, Warren tucks the two vials of liquid into his extradimensional space and considers the crevice thoughtfully. Sighing, he dismisses the gun and then the mech itself, a bit sad to see it go, but not wanting to risk it getting stuck

    Cracking his knuckles and summoning his gun once more, he wills on the light he'd gained by investing gold into one of his peculiar powers and starts making his way inside the cave. "Really hope this is the dungeon, otherwise, I'm going to feel really stupid," he mumbles to himself under his breath.

    The crevasse narrowed severely once Warren had passed the make-shift den. It became downright cave-like, but his light allowed him to see what lay before him.

    After only a few hundred feet, he could see the gleam of metal. A door, fastened right into the stone wall of the cave. It was lacking in decoration, but was substantial in it's construction none the less.

    Upon inspecting the door, Warren becomes aware of a skillset that he had never known to exist. The details of the door, hinges, latch, and out of place mechanical attachment to said latch all jump out at him.

    The door is made of thick hardwood planks, banded together with several strips of iron and bolts. The hinges are set from the inside, preventing the door from simply being knocked off of them in forced entrance. The latch has no key, just an intricately forged knob which appears to be shaped like a wolf's maw. There are several small holes drilled through the knob in ways that make holding it without subjecting oneself to them impossible.

    His knowledge also notes that needles, most likely covered in some manner of poison, are held with spring tension awaiting the knob's turning. A small wire hook easily bypasses the mechanism and makes the door safe for use.

    "Damn! There really is a trap. Well, I guess that means I have the option to be sneaky instead of just blasting the door with gunfire until it gives up, like in the movies." Deciding on at least trying to be sneaky about his entrance, Warren uses the safety mechanism to open the door without activating the trap, and attempts to sneak into the dungeon, seemingly forgetting that he was the source of the light he was using to see by.

    Warren is able to finagle the mechanism to avoid tripping when the door latch was used. The heavy door swung open with a groan of aged metal and wood. Inside appears to be a foyer of sorts, the rough hewn stone has been worked to create a hallway, just over seven feet tall by about five feet wide.

    Luminescent moss that thrives in the damp sunless place gives off a warm glow, allowing Warren to see down the hallway to the end, which is approximately fifteen feet. An opening with brighter flickering light can be seen at the far side, no doubt a fire of some kind is in whatever room lay at the end of the hall.

    Committed to his goblin-hunting, Warren creeps into the space, keeping low and quiet. Taking note of the natural illumination, he kills his own internal light, reserving it until it is needed. Paying attention to the floor, walls, and ceiling, he takes his sweet time, unsure what dangers might lurk in such a place. No reason to call attention to himself until absolutely necessary, he thought.

    As he creeps forward, Warren is aware of three torches in the next room. Within the room is a cowled goblin stirring some foul concoction in a pot in a central fire pit. A much larger goblin in armor stand by him, as if patiently waiting for a portion of the pot.

    A wolf, much larger than the two Warren encountered at the entrance, lays near the armored goblin. It’s ears perk in the direction of the entrance, but it’s sense of smell must be hindered by the cooking pot.

    Two shots range out in quick succession, both finding their mark. The wolf snarled and the large goblin yelled in surprise, instinctively drawing his sword.

    The cook appeared to be a magic user, because he quickly dropped the stirring stick and began an incantation, weaving his hands in gestures. The spell finished right as the wolf and warrior charged at Warren.

    The small goblin cook chants another spell, shooting a crackling missile of darkness toward Warren. Now that the man had withdrawn further into the hallway, he moves closer to one of the side walls so that shooting him would no longer be possible unless right in the entry to the room.

    The wolf and armored goblin continue to push Warren back into the hallway with their sword swings and teeth ripping. It appears that they intend for you to continue to fall back until the door, where they'll either have you pinned or you'll be forced to retreat.

    As the armored goblin's sword cuts into an opening of the mechanical armor, pain sears into Warren's mind. He can no longer doubt that this is his new reality. As red floods his vision, he is acutely aware of two things:

    1) The enemies, unlike him, do not seem to increase the damage they deal on a critical hit.
    2) There is a flashing icon in the center of his screen.

    Slamming his will against the Hero's Blessing option swimming in his vision to stay in the fight out of a sense of anger and spite, Warren stumbles back from the strike. "Oi! That hurt, you ugly d-bag!" Taking a step in the air as if hopping into something that isn't there, his mech forms around him.

    The armored goblin didn't seem to notice anything amiss in the fact that his previous attack hadn't just cleaved his mechanized opponent in half. Instead his followed the thrust with a heavy backswing. Meanwhile, the wolf continued to harry Warren's heals, hoping to trip him up for his ally to make short work.

    The goblin cook was casting another spell from his perceived cover. The spell closed some of his own wounds.

    The leap frog game continued as Warren gave himself more distance. The shot staggered the armored goblin, who took a moment to draw a potion from his pouch and drink the contents. Once consumed, the wounds inflicted by the gunshots closed slightly.

    The wolf snarled in response to Warren's question and winced as the bullet tore through it's hide and flesh. It snapped again with ivory fangs at the man's legs. The mouth was large enough to fit a normal man's entire hamstring between the teeth, but the mechanized metal armor had it as frustrated as Warren was toward the goblins.

    The goblin seemed tired of having holes blasted in his chest, or perhaps he was out of the healing potions he just used. Either way, he made a hasty withdrawal through the opening from the hallway to the room he had come from, out of sight. Now it was just the wolf and the machine in a struggle for survival.
