Default The Stormblade: A fighter subclass

    Stormblade
    (fighter subclass)
The Stormblade is one who has trained his sword to be imbued with the power of the storm, striking as fast as lightning, and hard as thunder.
    3:
    Blade of storms
When you choose this Martial Archetype at level 3, you gain the ability to imbue your sword with the power of the storm. As a bonus action, you can imbue your sword with the power of storms. Your sword then does a number of d6’s of damage equal to your Strength modifier (minimum of one) of Lightning damage, and then an equal amount of Thunder damage. This effect lasts for 1 hour, or until you start and finish a combat, whatever comes first. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all uses of this ability after a short or long rest.
    7:
    Stormcaller
You have become a Stormcaller, one who can summon a storm when needed. On your turn, you can use an action to summon a small storm around you. This storm has a radius of 10 feet, which increases to 30 feet at 15th level. Whenever a creature starts its turn inside the storm, or enters the storm, they take 3d6 Lightning, 3d6 Thunder, and 2d6 Cold damage. If they take more than 10 Lightning damage from this source, they must make a Constitution saving throw equal to 10 + your Strength modifier + your Proficiency bonus, or become Stunned until they succeed the save. At the end of each of their turns, the creature can reattempt to make the saving throw, but for each additional turn they are stunned, the DC goes down by 1.
    10:
    One with storms
You gain resistance to Thunder and Lightning damage. Additionally, when a creature hits you with an attack, you can force them to take an amount of Lightning damage equal to your Strength modifier.
    15:
    Stormborn
You gain a flying speed equal to 60 feet. Additionally, as an action, you can give yourself a flying speed of 30 feet, and give a number of creatures you can see, up to your Constitution modifier, a flying speed off 30 feet, which lasts for 1 minute, at which point you regain your full flying speed. If your character already has a flying speed, or is under the effect of a spell or magic item, for the duration of the item or flying speed, you can add 30 feet to your flying speed.
    18:
    True Stormblade
You have mastered the art of the storm. You have immunity to Lightning and Thunder damage, and additionally, when you deal damage of either of those types, you regain an amount of HP equal to your proficiency bonus. Additionally, your Blade of Storms feature has unlimited uses.

    Blade Of Storms
So, if I start with 16 Strength, two hours per day I can have a sword that does +6d6 damage?
That would turn a Shortsword into something that deals 27.5 damage on average, when a Great Weapon Master -5/+10 Greatsword does 20 on average.
    This is ABSOLUTELY busted.

    Stormcaller
DCs are 8+Prof+Mod, not 10. Making it two higher is pretty rough.
You've got a 62.5% chance of dealing 10+ damage on 3d6. The ability to do Fireball-level damage at-will in an (admittedly small) AoE with a stun rider is absolutely nuts.

    One With Storms
That's... It should take a reaction to inflict the retaliation damage, but otherwise isn't that bad.

    Stormborn
Really useful, but not busted as a level 15 feature.

    True Stormblade
Immunity is nice, but pretty easy to work around at this level.
Unlimited uses is cool, but six uses per day is probably enough, so that's not a big deal.
Better Regeneration than the Champion IS an issue, though.

You have three attacks per action, and can probably hit with two in a round. (If you're surrounded, Stormcaller lets you automatically hit two or more enemies.) That's 12 HP gained per round, 24 on an Action Surge round. More than a 20 Constitution Champion gets, and available above half HP.
Plus, you can attack objects. Just slash the ground and get to full between fights.
I have a LOT of Homebrew!

I would have the lvl 3 feature give you booming blade cantrip and allows you to use one of your attacks during an attack action to cast the cantrip. And at later level cast it twice.

I think that some of this can't possibl be what you intended. So you take your swod damage dice and replace them with 2d6 for each point of strength? No support for non-sword weapons. No support for anything other than strength builds? And it lasts for an hour not just 1 round. This is just insanely powerful. 10d6 on a weapon attack is off the scale.

And stormcaller. So its a save vs being stunned, which is an exceptional. ability, only its not a typical save but one with +2 DC over most. And it can come with free damage. Its 8d6 damage just for stepping inside? The only remotely balanced feature about this is that it damages the PC as well. This has a 50% chance of forcing a save, not a 5% chance.

One with storms. Normally this would be powerful for a level 10 fighter ability, that are usually pretty meh. Resisance is a big deal, a massive deal when you do yourself so much damage with stormcaller. And he realiatory damage... well its good. Very good for a level 10 ability.

Stormborne. Like the draconic sorcerer's best ability only better. Free flying and giving others flying as an option? Too strong.

True Stormblade. Yes this is silly, but its not like its sillier than wish or infinite HP moon druids so I guess that's OK?

It might be worth benchmarking against other fighters so your damage output is in line as are other non combat or mobiity abilities. I would also suggest moving the requisite stat for abilities to cha/wis/int. Forcing a bit of MADness on the character would justify nerfing the abilities a little less.

I see, thanks! I'll keep that in ind as I rebuild it.

    EDIT: Rebuild:

This effect lasts for round. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all uses of this ability after a short or long rest. You also gain the ability to attack as a bonus action, as long as you use your action to something other than Attack. Also, this bonus attack does not gain the benefit from Multiattack.
    7:
    Stormcaller
You have become a Stormcaller, one who can summon a storm when needed. On your turn, you can use an action to summon a small storm around you.
