Does Holy Transformation, Lesser stack with Righteous Might

Multiple magical effects that increase size do not stack however Lesser Holy Transformation changes your size to Medium.

So would Lesser Holy Transformation and Righteous Might stack on a creature that is small sized. Specifically, if a small creature casts Lesser Holy Transformation and becomes Medium size and then cast Righteous Might would that character become large?

Its nuance but technically Lesser Holy Transformation changes one size not necessarily increase it. Thoughts?


Holy Transformation, Lesser (Spell Compendium, p. 116)

When you cast this spell, you assume the physical appearance and many of the qualities and abilities of a protectar (Miniatures Handbook 66). While under the effect of the spell, your creature type changes to outsider (good), and your size changes to Medium. You have the space and reach of a protectar (5 feet/5 feet). You gain a +2 sacred bonus to Strength and Constitution. You gain a fly speed of 60 feet (good). You gain darkvision out to 60 feet. You gain a +2 sacred bonus on saving throws. You gain the ability to speak and understand Celestial.

Righteous Might(Player's Handbook v.3.5, p. 273)

Your height immediately doubles, and your weight increases by a factor of eight.


Multiple magical effects that increase size do not stack, which means (among other things) that you can't use a second casting of this spell to further increase your size while you are still under the effect of the first casting.

Righteous Might specifically doesn't stack with magical effects that increase size. Because of this it's a classic case of one effect making another irrelevant. That said, the rules don't mention the order of relevance soo... you'll just have to pick one. Personally I just use order of application for situations like these.

As far as I can see, if a small or smaller character used both they wouldn't stack because that would be stacking magical effects to increase your size. If a medium or larger character used them both it would be whichever spell was cast last which determined the final size.

Let's turn it around a little.

Does Enlarge/Shrink stack with Polymorph?

Under the Transmutation header for Magic, at least in Pathfinder, the answer is quite explicitly no.

In addition, other spells that change your size have no effect on you while you are under the effects of a polymorph spell.

In which case, it doesn't matter if you're a large made medium, small made medium, or start out medium. In any case, Enlarge has no effect on you.
