...so Elan stripped Celia naked and fed her to the monster in Szilard's picture so he could impersonate her and steal Roy for himself...it all makes sense now.

Actually, Roy's sword is +5 Undead Bane. Elan's sword is +3 Keen, so it's more likely to get a critical hit even if it's slightly less accurate. Roy would probably only have an advantage over Elan by sword value alone if he was using his sword on the undead.
