    Ingvar the Wolf

Ingvar moves constantly, keeping his foes in sight, his black blade ready to strike should an opening arise. The huntsman seems preternaturally calm as he analyzes his options dispassionately. He then slashes quickly at one of the beasts.

The three shadows shrug into the spare furs grabbed from the cavern and tighten the ties.
The final fingers of the frail sunlight linger high in the air when all about the sky is dark, speckled with twinkling white lights.

Jyn smears a handful of grease around her neck and face, passing around the skin of animal fat which is rapidly hardening in the cold, and the others take a handful too.

Vesha emerges from the passage to stand in the small group under the overhang of rocks, his albino white skin turned a luminous night blue hue against the night sky. The ground is fresh under his one bootless foot and the snow is just bareably cool.
A spare fur offered by Jyn is slung loose over his shoulders, ready to be shed or wrapped tighter as necessity demands.

The night is quiet but for the wind which whistles along the sheer rock wall, and the group moves along the crisp snow to the south.
The battle was fought from these cliff faces and arriving there with a swift fifteen minutes jog, your hearts are pulsing the blood hard around your veins as the cold closes in and numbs the skin, trying to seep in.
Vesha pauses to bandage the thick fibrous fur around his bare foot for fear of loosing it to frostbite.

The cliff tops shows some signs of disturbance, and far below there are numerous dark shapes laying still. Presumably the felled enemy were not carried off after the battle.

From this height you can see across the dark open plain to the smaller hills further south as they rise to another mountain range. Gaps appear in the mountains, showing the dark sky in the distance and a strange oval of silver light reflected on the bottom of distant clouds.

Moving along the cliff tops there are several breaks and routes down the sheer wall, though all a dangerous climb without light.

Noj spots a crevice in the cliffs further on ahead, shaped like a nock mark from an axe in a log, though as he is about to point it out Thyr raises a hand for quiet.
Looking over the edge, Mynas sees the lumbering shapes moving as a group, their cunning keeps them quiet and close to the rocks. Various different shapes and sizes, the six of them seem humanoid though very large.
Noj's crevice might allow you a place to fight them, if you can lure them into into. Then you would have height and perhaps surprise for yourselves and the thought makes you smile grimly.

    ------------------------------------------

Ingvar reaches out to score the sword point across the flank of one charging wolf. The razor sharp edge cuts a thin line in the thick skin despite the arcane protection.
His next blows are less precise and the wild man makes messy work of his next foe, smashing the sword butt down on its snout and pushing it away with a boot before hacking at it with the thick blade closest to the hilt.

The creature scampers and drags itself away, most likely to die, but before Ingvar can finish it the others are upon him.
The fast one sprints upwards towards the peons, the little wound in it's side.
The one at the hunters back slashes it's claws deep, hooking under his skin and the one at the front distracts him with little nips.

Thyr eyes the herd carefully, trying to pick out the stronger leaders from the cattle that followed before her eyes slowly trace their way beyond the heard to where they have been, trying to get a bead on a potential threat that has them on the move. Tracing Noj's gestures towards the crevice she nods and returns to eyes to the herd. If they had to attack them, luring them may be as easy as baiting them with an easy fight and anger. Thyr tries to focus on finding a cub or female with child, likely from a distended belly. Attacking one such as that, would likely provoke the entire group.

Thyr scans the deeper shadows, trying to peer around the legs of the things below. The overhang of cliff obstructs a better angle to find her targets, though more than that Thyr's eyes are too wary to leave the bigger beasts. Her warrior instincts seek out the biggest threat and her tongue touches her lips as though tasting the first wound in its side.

Her fingers move expectantly along the new haft of her weapon, the dappled steel weighty under her gloves but not cool enough to make the leather stick. In fact the haft is warm and it sends a pulse of heat through her arm with a heartbeart all of its own...

    ------------------------------------------

Ingvar takes small steps, darting one way and then the other to confuse the beasts and their attempts to surround him.
They work well together though their spite and fury works better on prey than on another predator.

Ingvar steps and quarter-turns back into the pack, slicing the blade across a flank, cutting full length from hilt to tip and opening the creature all along, the edge seems to slice a line into its bone ribs with hardly a pause.

Jyn looks throw the crevice also at the lumbering beasts below. 'So six of them,' she thinks to herself. Quickly looking behind her, she surveys the warriors that have joined her companions, trying to assess their abilities and how they may be used in the battle to come.

Noj eyes the slope above the Slubbets speculatively, trying to pick out two reasonably-heavy stones along the way up. Of course, in the Kumsbins, they'd used fallen tree-trunks, but the idea should work the same. Stout rope, two spaced stones, and enemies walking an edge below. Two people pushing two stones, and the rocks do all the work.
If there's nothing out there, then what was that noise?

A sly grin comes on Thyr's face as she looks as Vesha and points towards the crevasse.

"Ambush." She whispers, and then waves her hand to include Noj, Jyn, and herself. "Hide." She then points to Vesha. "Bait them in." She looks around herself for some rocks she could have Vesha throw to get the monsters' attention.

Vesha could probably get the apekatt's attention and if the rest of the group hid along the sides of the crevice, then the monsters would think he was all alone and might attack. Thus they would likely head up the crevice to attack him and fall into an ambush. Not to mention that Vesha would probably be more than a match if he chanelled the right spirit.

The muffled crunch of snow follows your footfalls as you arrange yourselves around the cliffs.
There must be pebbles here under the white layer, though the closest missle to hand is the snow itself, though at the edges that are clumps of ice that may conceal larger boulders.

Around the crevice Vesha steadies himself and grips tight to the weapon. The moonlight glimmers off the burnished bronze mallet, bathing his pale skin in an eerie gold.
The powerful silver torc hangs in the dark sky to the south, looking down from a mountain peak, watching its children as they stalk across the land.

Techincal point: Jyn needs to use two rounds to gain tokens (as you can only actively gain one type of token per round).
Everyone else can have one action per token pool to gain tokens as well. So Thyr can have one weapon and one dodge token vs her first opponent, Vesha can have a full action of rage. Noj can whistle for it ;)

Ingvar pivots and thrusts to keep the wolf at his back away, as it snarls and seeks a way past his guard.
The other shifts to become the aggressor, just in time to meet the back swing from the black blade. The wily hunter knows the lore of pack fighting only too well.
Despite the creatures agile dodge to roll away from the blow, the sword cuts deep and the second swing shears away both its front legs. Its chin hits the rocks with a thud and it expires immediately.

The remaining foe redoubles its savage attack as the other wounded one expires some yards away, bleeding out on the brittle grass.
The wolfs claws rip and it chomps hard with its steel jaw, but Ingvar's eyes shine in the moonlight wide with adrenaline

Thyr hunkers down and quickly moves into position near the crevice. She draws Faillune and lets it sit partially in the snow and dirt to conceal the blades' lustre. She balances herself on the balls of her feet, the edge of the shield and Faillune's shaft keeping her from teetering forward. She lets out a slow breath, her body coiling for a rush of violence.

With renewed confidence and some more room to manoeuvre, Ingvar takes quick back steps in the face of the berserk onslaught before chopping down to stop the beast’s advance, slicing once ear off and shaving the fur from the skull. His quick following blow slashes a short gouge into its shoulder, but the wolf’s advance is hardly slowed as it rakes a heavy paw into his gut, landing on him with it’s full weight and catching a grazing bite into the flesh of his chin.

Crouched in a semi-circle, the wide crevice offers little space in the way of a battlefield, but for concealment there is plenty.

Some dislodge snow and a few pebbles roll away, the small scrapes of boots and weapons sound loud in your ears along with your heartbeats, though you cannot tell how far the noises carry.

Below, the lumbering shapes are out of sight. Their ambling pace along the cliffs is marked by weighty steps and the snort of heavy breath, an odour drifts upwards like the mould of wet fur.

They must be close to the bottom where the crevice is at its widest point, if they were looking for a way up, they have found it...

Remaining still, Thyr scans her eyes across the places where her allies were now laying in wait. A peculiar smile coming on her face as she realized that they were becoming much more willing to listen to her. Perhaps it was the lack of the Lupine bastard that was making this possible.
She looks towards Vesha, leaning ever so slightly from behind a slab of stone and gave him a curt nod. 'Whenver you're ready', she meant to intone.
Thyr quickly thought of the next step in the ambush. They would have to keep the Apekatt from running away... But if they met resistance, would they push through. Thyr shoved those thoughts aside.
She had to trust her instincts, it was time to fight like a Cadinoc again, brutality and cunning.

Jyn remains frozen as if she was one with the rock lining the crevice. She waits in idle anticipation for the battle to start.

"Get there attention." Thyr hisses towards Vesha's position, realizing that they may shuffle off without bait.

The wolf leaps back from Ingvar's blow, its courage abandoning it as it feels its lifeblood seeping from its body.
It twists and ducks but the second swing takes a chunk of skin from its shoulder.
Its feeble swipes are more defensive as its tries to find a place to flee and the hunter closes the beast down, trying to pin it for a killing blow.

    Ingvar the Wolf

Ingvar sees the weakening creature is trying to escape. He knows it is most likely a mistake, but he cannot bring himself to butcher it if it is no longer threatening. He backs off warily, sword still high, eyes blazing.

Move action to move away from wolvun.

If it takes an AoO, will again close with it to finish it.
If it does not, second move action to move towards the people of Pinval.

The wolf snarls as Ingvar moves away, its eyes shine vindictive but it restrains itself from striking at his retreating body and instead it slinks off downhill into the darkness.

Upwards the people of Pinval have scattered, screaming and fleeing, many of them streaming upwards. The four-legged shadow pounces amongst their midst, tearing them down even as three stand and fight against it.

Ingvar's legs pound and burn as he picks the smoothest path over the rocks and gravel to carry him upwards swiftest.

It will take you two rounds to get there using terrain tokens, effectively we will skip the round that you miss.
Ingvar can charge into combat if he wishes.

    Ingvar the Wolf

His iron stamina taxed almost to its limits, the bloodied huntsman seems to fly up the rugged slope, and with a howl falls upon the wolf with a mighty, skewering thrust.

    How well you know me...

As Ingvar would have +2 attack from charge, and if 3 are facing it, and he comes from behind, he should be able to flank, that should be a total of +4. Never a better time than for a major attack challenge: -6 to hit (net -2) traded off for + 6 damage... wish me luck...

    Attack (1d20+9)[25]
    Damage (1d10+11)[20]

EDIT: thta's gotta sting a bit...
