    Mercutio

The swashbuckler, gently holds the young woman. "Be at ease. You are safe now," he says as he tries to sooth her. He looks at his companions and flicks his head back towards the direction from which they arrived. He pointedly looks at the swooning young woman, and nods again the other direction. "Cover family," he whispers.
I have returned!! Not that most of y'all know whom I am.

Taking his cue from Mercutio Segan walks calmly back to the bodies and arranging them as best he can covers first the woman who's resemblance is so close to the young lady they have rescued, praying as he does so for the spirits of the departed.

Segan will use his own cloak if needed, but if there is any other cloth he can use to cover the bodies he will.

    "There, there. You're safe now,"
murmured the paladin, patting the young woman's shoulder. "Pelor has you in his grace. Would you like some water?," she asked, offering a waterskin. Somewhat ashamed of her cynicism, Martina studied the girl's aura for any taint of evil.

The monk has a bit of a time balancing all the items before they finally get to the table. He tests on of the slings, and seeing it solid takes up it and a handful of the bullets.

The flinging door snaps his attention back and he jogs to the group just as the young woman bursts out. Not having much exposure to women at the monastery Hren hangs back and waits for the cues of the others.

Gadriel nods to Mercutio and steps down from the wall. He grabs a mortuary blanket from one of the previous tenants and uses it to cover the former zombie lying on the stone table. Good thing the other fled deeper inside.

Held by Mercutio, and at the same time kept away from the unpleasant sight of her dead relatives, Tyra slowly calms down. After a while, her incoherent speech and her tears slowly vanish, leaving behind a broken, exhausted and confused young woman. She sits down on the dirty floor, her back against the same door that held her captive until a few minutes ago and, with what seems like a big, conscious effort on her part, offers you all a weak smile.

"I... I don't know how to thank you all. I think if I had stayed... there a little more I would have gone mad. I'm not even sure I haven't gone mad anyway...". She almost starts crying again as she says that, but manages to resist the urge. "At first, when I heard you come, I thought you were them, that they'd come back for me, to... hurt me as they hurt my parents. That... that hissing voice...". Tyra's voice slowly fades, as the memories of what happened overcome her again. She wraps herself with her arms, and starts shivering violently.

Poor girl. Well, at least she seems calm enough to answer a few questions, if you may, but she's tired (and that's a huge understatement), both phisically and mentally, and will need to be escorted back to town soon. Since Oz is gone, I thought I could make Brog/Trunir bring her back home once you're done with the questioning, thus giving him a "graceful" exit from the game, and avoiding slowing the adventure even more. Sounds good?

By the way, I know I'm late as hell with this post, but the forum kind of misbehaved last friday night, and this weekend has been a busy one. So, sorry again.

Aaand a word of warning: I'll be away from home and my dearest computer from thursday to sunday next week (yay for summer metal festivals ), so don't expect me around those days. I'll try to post something on wednesday night before leaving. Hopefully.

Merc does his best to console the young woman. "It is okay, Tyra. You are safe now. If you would, please tell us what you saw and heard? Any detail may help as we continue the search for these fiends."

Sorry to hear we've lost our dwarf.
Your plan seems sound unless the others prefer to return for supplies of some sort... Merc is ready to push on as soon as Tyra is escorted out of the mausoleum.

    Martina

Relieved to find no taint of evil corrupting Tyra, Martina dampened a cloth with some cool water and began gently wiping the other woman's face. "We'll get you home soon -- well before nightfall, by Pelor's grace -- but we have to stay and fight the evil that has threatened your home. We'll all go with you to the edge of the graveyard, and Trunir, here, will walk you to town. Anything you can tell us will help, Tyra." The fact that she was volunteering the others to participate didn't seem to cross Martina's mind. After all, she knew what had to be done, didn't she?

The young monk nods and begins leading the way up. He tries to stay ten or more feat ahead of those with the lass in order to ensure the dead in the upper chamber are covered as well.

As he reaches the shut front door he pauses for a moment to check and listen for any more wolves.

    {listen (1d20+5)[13] spot if listen is clear will crack the door (1d20+5)[17] }

If the coast is clear he will proceed out, otherwise will ready and change Shocking Grasp into his staff if he hears/sees enemies.

    Martina Kempinard, paladin of Pelor

Patting Tyra's back, Martina decided to prompt the young woman with some specific questions. "Can you remember anything more about your attackers? Did you see them? Did you smell anything? Hear anything? What did the voice say?"

She paused for a moment, then continued. "Did any of you do anything or see anything unusual while you were preparing your grandfather?"

Tyra tries to regain her composture, and pushing away her exhaustion for a moment, attempts to focus in her memories. "They came soon after we arrived here. We were just starting to prepare gramps for his burial, when we heard some faint noises coming from the corridor". She points towars the eastern hallway.

"My parents went to investigate, but... They were a group of hairy, ugly humanoids. I couldn't see them clearly, since I stayed here. They came from... somewhere, I don't know, they just charged into the hallway and attacked my parents. I... I screamed and tried to find somewhere to hid. I found an open vault, and went inside, hoping they hadn't seen me. But they had...".

"After a while everything went silent, but I felt they were approaching. Then I heard them. They talked in a crude language, I couldn't understand a word. One of them tried to open the door, to the vault, but then... the hissing one came, and told him to stop. I couldn't understand much of what he... it said, either, his speech was too... snake-like, I guess. But he spoke in Common, and I caught a few words. "Undead", I heard that quite clearly. Also, "Distraction". Then someone else uttered some orders in that crude language, and one of the monsters started to bolt the door, and sealed me in. Since then I've been here, hoping that someone would come, but fearing that when it came, it would be them...".

The girl stops talking, and this time her face shows her extreme exhaustion. Trunir speaks then, breaking his long silence. "The lass needs rest. I'll escort her back to the town and leave her under Mia's care.". He helps the girl stand up, something harder than it seems because of the height difference, and slowly leads her to the stairs, and to the surface, escorted by the rest of the group. Hren scouts ahead, and after hearing no threatening sounds coming from behind the doors, he opens them.

Outside, time seems to have passed much faster than any of you would have imagined. The afternoon is slowly fading away, and sunset and night approach fast. Hoping to reach Kingsholm before the sun hides behind the hills, Tyra hugs you all on turns, thanking you once again for your help, and wishing you luck. She never asks about her parents' luck: maybe deep inside she knows already. After waving goodbye once again, Trunir and Tyra begin walking down the path, and soon they disappear from your sight.

"Disturbing...all of this," the monk ponders her words, staring at his staff. He clicks it against the ground and with a whisper arcane energy shimmers up its length, "Best try to finish these fiends before their taint spreads."

With that and a glance to his companions the lad turns once more into the dim crypt and makes for its depths.
