Re: Libra: The Eye of Melandros
While the guard rants, Jesse takes some quiet steps towards the stairs, padding half way down them to get a proper look at the lower floor. He's good at casing a joint and is looking for signs of what this odd underground building might be used for, and where any of the exits may lead.
Hearing Grekkin interrupt the guard, though, he turns around to look back up the stairs, hoping things won't get too messy.de·fen·es·tra·tion (dē-fĕn'ĭ-strā'shən)
n.
An act of throwing someone or something out of a window.
[From DE– + Latin fenestra, window.]

Re: Libra: The Eye of Melandros
The guard's loyalty wavers. "I don't know what the king wants you for. 'Treason,' said my superiors. I don't care what the reason is! I am completely loyal... to... my king... uuuhhhhhh..." he moans. "I don't know."

Re: Libra: The Eye of Melandros
"The order was relayed directly from the king! There's no doubt; I saw him with my own eyes ordering my superiors to hunt you down!" he shouts indignantly, a little insulted.

Re: Libra: The Eye of Melandros
Grekkin tugged on the hook.
"Are you sure, slimeguts? Are you sure it wasn't someone else? Or did someone put this silly idea into the king's head? A councellor? A noble of some sort perhaps?"
Grekkin twisted the hook some more. He was tugging at muscles the man needed to walk now. One more jab, and he'd be disabled for the rest of his life.Avatar by the illustrious Dr. Bath.

Re: Libra: The Eye of Melandros
"I don't know nothing!" shouts the man, wincing from the pain. His face forms a desperate expression. "I swear!"
You hear voices in the distance. Wait, what? Voices? They're unintelligible, threatening-sounding, and coming from beep within the upstairs window-passage. Some light footsteps are heard. Whoever is in that passage seems to be coming this way.·Bitzeralisis·

Re: Libra: The Eye of Melandros
Grekkin drags the guard through the other window and smiles.
"I know my way through the sewers, we're safe here" he says to the others. Then he quietly closes the window behind them, drags away the guard and continues to question him in some corner.
"Where did the order come from, slimeguts?"
The hook digs into the guard's other leg, slicing open the flesh.Avatar by the illustrious Dr. Bath.

Re: Libra: The Eye of Melandros
"The king! The king! I myself doubt his reasons, but... but..." he utters, fighting against himself in his mind. There seems to be something he wants to say, but for some reason, he is too afraid to say it.

Re: Libra: The Eye of Melandros
"But? Look, slimeguts, we can be here all day, and if you don't want me to go around snapping every muscle in your pathetic body, slowly, you might want to talk. You'll talk eventually anyways. You might as well do it now, before I've made you into a plant, a fish on the dry"

Re: Libra: The Eye of Melandros
"I... I... the king is evil! Corrupt! Eye... eye of... Eye of Melandros... Libra... LIBRA IS COMING AND WE ARE ALL DOOMED!" the man's eyes roll up into their sockets, and he spasms uncontrollably, as if some evil force were possessing him. A signet on the back of his hand starts glowing red, and a portal begins forming.
Somewhere in the distance upstairs, in the room where the window was closed, there comes an angry noise and the sound of the window shattering.·Bitzeralisis·

Re: Libra: The Eye of Melandros
"When the fish stirs, you need to gut it quickly..."
Grekkin spoke as he quickly jabbed the hook in the guard's throat and sliced it open. He didn't know what was happening, and he didn't want to know. If the king truly was evil, there was nothing he'd be able to do about it, as a poor fishsalesman. He gave the body a shove and it fell into the sewage water with a muffled splash.
"We need to get out of here, guys. I know the way from here to my cabin. It's connected to the sewers because I work in here. I've got plenty of sails stored there and in my boat below it. We should go pick some up and parachute out of this city. I don't think we have a chance when the truly big fish stirs"Avatar by the illustrious Dr. Bath.

Electricity rumbles around the dead guard. "The penalty for treason is death..."
Somewhere upstairs, the voice yells something.·Bitzeralisis·

Elos tries to quickly get all his effects in order.
"I'll follow anywhere at this point, but ease up on the fish references. Half of them barely make sense anyway." He inches away from the portal without taking his eyes off it.

Re: Libra: The Eye of Melandros
Grekkin shrugs.
"Fish is all I know. I grew up on it. I make my bread selling and catching fish. When I need to relax, I go fish. It comes natural to me. But let's go, this place seems to be getting dangerous"
Grekkin ran through the tunnels quickly. He knew his way. He was heading for the underground access to his hut, where his boat lay. The boat had sails in it, even though they were of no use in the sewers. It also had some supplies, fishing gear and plenty of rope. His hut upstiars was quite small, and really didn't contain much more than a small stove, a stack of wood, a hammock, his butchering gear and, again, some sails and ropes. It was home to him though, and it felt like the logical place to run when in danger. It was unlikely anyone had found the shack he lived in anyways.Last edited by MrEdwardNigma; 2008-05-11 at 03:56 PM.

Re: Libra: The Eye of Melandros
Dol looked sadly at the dead guard.
Did it really have to end this way?
He glanced at Grekkin making his getaway, gathered up the unclaimed items, and moved after him.Had I the cloths of heaven,
I would spread these at your feet.
But I am poor, and have only my dreams
and I spread these beneath your feet.
Tread softly, for you tread upon my dreams

Re: Libra: The Eye of Melandros
The guard floats upwards out of the water, electricity crackling around him... a demonic voice speaks from nowhere, though it does seem to originate from the guard.
"You will die!"
He is immediately blasted by a large shard of ice, coming from around the corner. "A dead guard! They have to be around here somewhere!" Two people come floating out of the passageway, wearing strange cloaks and both wielding longswords. "Get them!" They charge.Last edited by Bitzeralisis; 2008-05-11 at 04:27 PM.

Backpedaling, Dol raises the longsword above his head to strike down any opposition.
"I'll be blasted if any damn sorcs get my hide!"
If the others in the group are behind him, he stops to let them pass so he can stay at the back of the group.Had I the cloths of heaven,
I would spread these at your feet.

Re: Libra: The Eye of Melandros
"Are they the ones?" "Yes, they're the ones." "Net! Use a net!"
One of them throws a net, but misses.
"Idiot! Can't you throw properly?"
You're still running. Three choices: run, fight, or surrender.·Bitzeralisis·
