While I can see the argument that a large longsword (can be wielded in one hand with penalties) is the same as a greatsword, a glaive is not just a bigger battleaxe.

Even though (unlike the longbow) it doesn't say that it requires two hands regardless of the size of the wielder, this quote, "Two hands are required to use a two-handed melee weapon effectively." is good enough for me.

A glaive held in one hand does not threaten.

A creature can’t make optimum use of a weapon that isn’t properly sized for it. A cumulative -2 penalty applies on attack rolls for each size category of difference between the size of its intended wielder and the size of its actual wielder. i bolded the relevant part. i believe you contridicted yourself Chile. Since it is a 1h weapon for a large, it becomes a 2hand weapon for a med. and therefor can only be wielded as such.

as for monkey grip, it bypasses this rule. a 1h weapon for large, continues to be a 1h weapon for med.

You can use a large creatures 1handed weapon if you use two hands and take a -2 penalty. I get it now
