We generally like to have the opponent respond to an attack, just in case there's some trick to pull out. Once both gladiators confirm the win, then a ref can be called in to call the match. Though, by the looks of things, you may have just cleaved him in two

BUT Curtis, I'm not sure you're dead no save. You're an elan. Elans can burn pp to negate damage they take, and you still have pp left. I know you do, because I checked your sheet, you have 8 pp, and there's no way you burnt 8 pp in 4 rounds. Elan resilience, remember?
