Selfurian wars (IC)

[Quinsar]

Our heroes are spending the night at "The Leek Radish Inn" unaware of each others presences. Outside the cloudless sky burns a strange crystal blue color, despite it being night time.

The world of Selfurian has been at war for centuries, our heroes are supporting the Moon Demius. The enemy armies are controlled by the Core Girvus, he leads the legion of monsters across the plain, burning everything they can.

Most of the southern world is frozen. Several above sea volcano island create giant ice lakes. The frozen wastelands are mainly inhabited by nomadic tribes, that follow the Sea cats for food. There are a few large floating trade cities in this frozen wasteland, mainly used for trade between the tribal people and the Northern empires. In the spring and summer months, large cracks appear in the ice, allowing acess to the south by boat. The north is very mountanous, occasionally breaking inot plains, woods, or one of the several large in-land or coastal cities or towns.

The Inn is unusualy crowded tonight. Behind the bar works three creatures. A young Gnome bartender, a battlehardened Minoutar, that is missing a horn, and a beautiful young waitress.

Gelydus sits as far from whatever heatsource is burning in this room. He is wrapped up in a dark blue cloak with the white fur-lined hood currently on. He is casually sipping a glass of wine with a few ((Conjured if necessary)) ice cubes. He is quiet, and you can't see what he's looking at underneath the hood, but his gaze is unmoving.

Ah...another place where the intellectual elite gathers for a good drink -Marlamin mutters to himself. Then he heads to the bartender, takes out a silver piece from his pouch. Heads you give me your best drink, tails you tell me about the latest happenings...and why is that..."friend of yours" missing a part - eyeing the minotaur.

[Quinsar]

The gnome looks at Marlamin, and gets onto a stool, making him about five feet tall. He was an adveturer, horn got sliced off in a combat... Now flip your coin!

[mechanicalmarz]

The coin darts to the air, and with great dexterity Marlamin catches it in mid-air.
Heads...give me your best...friend. While the bartender leaves for the drink Marlamin pretty much straightly starts eyeing the crowd.

[Quinsar]

The gnome nods and goes to make the drinks.
the crowd is a mix of civilians and soldiers.

Marlamin turns back to the counter and starts humming a quiet tune.

[Quinsar]

The gnome returns carrying a pint of fine ale.
Is tis good?

[mechanicalmarz]

Marlamin sniffs in the drink, and a smile appears on his face.
Will do. -he slowly sips from the cool beverage.
So...what to do around here? Who to talk to? You know the usual questions, everybody asks you everday. -for the first time he notices the young waitress behing the counter.
And who should she be? As far a I can tell she did not lost anything during a fight...yet - Marlamin allows himself a chuckle, and sends a good deal of the ale down his throat.

Zilo sat in a chair, a hood over his face "aaaahh....a good rest after a long trek here.......good to relax after running from them......" he quietly sips some water, wary of everyone here.

[Quinsar]

The young female waiter approaches , looking exhausted.
Hiya... Can I get ya anything?



The city isn't very exciting since the military took over... She's my friends daughter...
Says the gnome.

[Dr Bwaa]

Wellby is sitting alone at a nondescript table, with a mug of something in his hand, though he doesn't drink. He wears a chain shirt and and a large-for-his-size sword of an unusual curvature strapped to his side. He is simply surveying his surroundings.

Xanderrick walks in, turns, and says "You'll be back later". He walks up to the bar, and orders a goblet of rum. He surveys the room, and if he sees someone playing music, he will join him. Otherwise, he'll pull out his banjo, and start strumming some tunes.

"I'm ok, besides you look tired, perhaps you should take a break?" Zilo suggested.

[Storm Bringer]

Hanmark is stood at the bar, waiting for his drink (which the minotuar serves). when Marlamin looked at him, he raised his drink in salute, before heading off to find a seat. thier being no empty tables, Hanmark settles for one with a lone halfing warrior on it.

"Don't mind some company, do ya?" he asked, plumping himself down. Hanmark looks at the halfling properly for the frist time, and notices the large slightly curved sword.

"Now....that's a most inresting weapon. I don't think I've seen a sword made like that before, certianly not one for two handed use. If you don't mind me asking, what sort of warrior are you?" He asked inquistivly.

[Dr Bwaa]

Wellby Higgins

Wellby opens his eyes (for they were half-closed) and appraises the Dwarf with a blank expression. After a couple moments of consideration, he says, "I suppose you may call me a Disciple of the Sword. Those who master my art are called Swordsages, but I have no right to that title. As for the sword, as with any weapon, it is just a piece of steel. Only when I draw it and prepare to do battle does it become anything else." Wellby continues to look at Hanmark politely, but says nothing else.

Marlamin sighs. Always the same "nothing is happening" then a dragon comes and chaos erupts. What about the military?
Marlamin nods to the dwarf whos now with a halfling then while smiling asks the bartender: and who are those fellows? Seems adventurer types...

[Trizap]

Zilo sees the dwarf and the halfling, interested, he got up and walked over to their table and sat in one of the chairs. Been a while since the Beguiler had some company.

[Quinsar]

Don't know... We get alot of adventurers round here....



The door swings open, and a hooded figure enters the inn. HE quickly moves to a corner, and sits down.

Marlamin fixes his eyes on the newcomer, and tries to find out as much information as possible.

[Storm Bringer]

"A Swordsage?" Hanmark asked with a suprised laugh. "I have not met your kind before, but i have heard the tales." At this point another halfling clambered onto a chair at the table. Hanmark nodded to him

"Hail and well met, Stranger. And by what name do you go?"

A hardly noticeable grin runs through Marlmain's face as he watches the dwarf and his newfound companions. Ah...the sure signs of a forming adventuring party...just what I need - he mutters to himself, then while the bartender is not looking he tries to grab some mugs of ale on the counter.

The bartender doesn't notice. The hooded man moves nearer to a table of guards, one f the guards seem to be pretty high ranking.

Marlamin grabbing the mugs quickly, heads toward the little group, sitting between them with a huge smile - Refreshments Gentlemen?

[Vazzaroth]

For the first time in a long while, Gelydus' head and hood shift at the other hooded man. He sets his wine down on the nearest table and leans forward, and observes the man closely.

Gelydus is suspicious of an assassin. Ready action to cast Lesser Orb of Cold if he sees the man pull a dagger or do anything else assassin-y.

"My name is Wellby," says Wellby to the others at the table, looking to each in turn, "A Disciple. I wonder if any of you know of a Diamond Mind Master rumored to live in these parts?"

"A Swordsage?" Hanmark asked with a suprised laugh. "I have not met your kind before, but i have heard the tales." At this point another halfling clambered onto a chair at the table. Hanmark nodded to him

"Hail and well met, Stranger. And by what name do you go?"

"K'tas, Zilo K'tas, but just to let ya know: if anyone asks if you know me, say no, there are people out there that want me dead, oh and a I'm a Beguiler by the way, y'know, master of deception and subtlety"

What an interessting bunch of nice -Marlamin hesitates for a second people! Let me introduce myself, Marlamin, Marlamin Sperpenthelm at yer service!

[Storm Bringer]

"And a Remarkably honest and somewhat dim one at that. how do you know i am not in the employ of those that seek you?" hanmark asked with a jovail tone.

turning to the other halfing, hanmark repied "alas, the only parcititioner of the Dimond Mind form i know fit to be called a master lives more than a month of travel north of here, at the Sheild Spittler Hall"

as the human approaches the table, ale in hand, Hanmark grins boardly.

"well, well, well. Free beer is always welcome." the dwarf then curses under his breath

Oh, do forgive my manners, I havn't even introduced myself. I am Hanmark Sheild Splitter, Warblabe of the Iorn Peak, at your service"

So, my good fellows as you might have noticed we have two mysterious cloaked figure, in a same tavern room, also as I can tell a high ranked military officer. What do these signs tell you?

Marlamin leans back with his chair with a humble smile, while looking out for every little detail around him.
