Re: Werewolf Central III - All potential wolves please read
Well, I like to put in a claim for Death Note 2 for January 21, 2009. If I don't do it now, I have a feeling it will be full later. Also, any advice for making Kira control less obvious to everyone else would be greatly appreciated.
Also, Griever, I really don't see much for a character based off of me, unless you did something opposite of Shadowcaller and could make the narrator(s) enforce the time limit, since I was told I was very consistent compared to other games. Otherwise I have nothing.Thank you to starwoof for the awesome Astrid avatar.

Re: Werewolf Central III - All potential wolves please read
Ok, wolves, masons, etc. One of the things people need to learn is that if anyone every approaches you for information outside the game... it is almost always a bad idea to give it to them. Unless you know for certain you can trust them.
It has worked in rare instances to exchange one list of names for another, but I must say If you're going to do that, make sure your list isn't real.
You can have all the best players in the world on your team, but if one person sells out the names it basically kills the whole team.
So think before you hand over any sort of information.
I am currently concentrating on RL stuffs. If you need me PM me.

Also:
Life of a Zergling (LoZ) II: Brood War
Current Champion: Murska
SpoilerThis game will consist of one round that will be repeated until there is only one player left in the game.
During every round all players can choose between the following four actions (or use a special ability):
Actions
SpoilerAttack (Vote for another player)
This is done by sending your vote to the game leader. The player with the most votes every round will be removed from the game and all his energy will be splinted as equally as possible between the players that voted for the player that was lynched.
The first players that voted for the lynched player will get the largest share of that Energy if it can’t be divided equally.
If you voted for a player that was not lynched this round you will lose 1 Energy.
Defend
This Action will make you vote against the first player the vote against you during this turn. This "defence" vote also increases your votes point value by 1. So if a Hydralisk would defend and get attacked its vote will count as 3 instead of 2.
If the player you voted for dies you will share his energy with the other players that voted for him but if you fail to kill him or you don't even got voted for you will lose 1 energy.
Gather Energy
This option will let you gain 1 Energy this round, after a number of rounds this option will no longer be available.
Burrow
You borrow yourself in the ground, protection yourself from incoming attacks and abilities.
Burrow reduces the attack vote with the highest point value made against you this turn to 0. It also lets you ignore the effect of the first special ability made against you this round.
Scout
You will spy on another zerg finding out what they are doing and how energetic they are. Select a player, at the end of the round you will learn what kind of action that player used during that round and how much energy he/she had at the beginning and the end of the round.
Note: If a player doesn't' use any actions or special abilities for two rounds he/she is killed by protoss and his/her energy is lost to everyone.
Additional Actions
SpoilerThese actions can be used along with normal actions for some extra energy. Only one additional action can be used each round.
First Strike, Can be used with attack or defence.
Your attack vote will count as the first vote made during this round unless someone else used this ability before you. Costs 1 energy to use.
Spy, Can be used with any type of normal action.
Target another player, you will find out whgat type of zerg they are, what action they used this round and how much energy they have. Costs 1 energy to use.
Double Strike, Can be used with attack.
You will vote for one additional player to attack, this can't be the same player you used your normal attack against, otherwise it functions like a normal attack. Costs 1 energy.
Energy
SpoilerIt’s your energy that makes you able to attack and defend yourself against the other zergs, if you would lose all your energy you will automatically die.
Every player will start with 5 Energy that they can use however they want, but be careful so it don’t run out of it.
Mutation Forms
SpoilerYou can sacrifice some of your energy to transform yourself into other species of zergs, to transform will make you unable to take any other actions for one round.
You start of as a Zergling but can mutate yourself into all kind of forms. Once you have mutated into another form you can't change it unless you mutate from a mutalisk to a guardian.
Hydralisk, 4 Energy: Your attack vote count as 2 instead of 1.
Lurker, Requires Hydralisk from, 3 energy: Your vote count as 2 instead of 1 and you are always under the effect of burrow without it costing any energy.
Ultralisk, 5 Energy: Your attack vote counts as 3 instead of 1 and the vote of the player you attack is reduced to 0.
Mutalisk, 4 Energy: Votes made against you by Zerglings, Ultralisks, Lurkers and Guardians only counts as 0.5 instead of their normal amount, but you lose the ability to burrow.
Guardian, Requires Mutalisk form, 2 Energy: Like the mutalisk votes made against you by Zerglings, Ultralisks, Lurkers and other Guardians count as 0.5 instead of their normal amount. Your vote count as 3 instead of 1 but you can't burrow.
Devourer, Requiers Mutalisk from, 2 Energy: Like the mutalisk votes made against you by Zerglings, Ultralisks, Lurkers and other Guardians count as 0.5 instead of their normal amount. Your vote count as 3 against Mutalisk, Queens, Guardians and other Devourers but only as 0.5 against Zerglings, Hydralisks, Defilers, Ultralisks and Lurkers.
Defiler, 3 Energy: You can no longer vote but you will gain the following abilities: Consume, Dark Swarm and Plague.
Queen, 3 Energy: You are a flier like the Mutalisk and the guardian. Therefore votes made against you by Zerglings, Ultralisks, Lurkers and Guardians only count as 0.5. Queens can't vote at all or burrow but have the following abilities:
Spawn Broodlings, Parasite and Ensnare.
Special Actions (like the queen and the defiler have)
SpoilerSpecial actions can be used instead of the normal actions and tend to cost more Energy but are on the other hand more powerful.
Special actions always effect a player before normal action and additional actions dose.
Consume, Costs 2 energy to use: Select a player, if that player would die during this round you will gain all his/her energy.
Dark Swarm, Costs 1 Energy to use: Summon a swarm of small flying creatures to protect yourself or another Zerg from ranged attacks for one round.
The Zerg is protected from votes made by Hydralisks, Mutalisks, Devourers and Guardians (this is reducing attack votes made by them on the selected player to 0).
Ensnare, Costs 1 Energy to use: Ensnares another Zerg in a sticky green fluid making them unable to move. If that Zerg would make any action prevent it, the energy cost of that action is still spend.
Parasite, Costs 2 Energy to use: Infecting another Zerg with a parasite. At the end of every round after you have infected it, the queen will return to the infected zerg to collect 1 energy from its parasite.
It will also find out what the infected zerg did during his turn. The parasite can only infect one zerg at the time.
Plague, Costs 1 Energy to use: Sickens another Zerg making it lose 3 Energy before it can recover.
Spawn Broodlings, Costs 3 Energy to use: Infecting another Zerg with broodlings, killing it and its energy is lost to everyone, this also prevents the zerg from doing any non-burrow actions.
This game have just started recruiting if anyone is intrested, atleast I can be in time with the narration in this game.

Re: Werewolf Central III - All potential wolves please read
'Kay. I thought about this sometime.
Spoiler
The win condition for Cookiemanjaro's side.
If the bad guys are defeated or they have over half of the current alive players on their side, they win.
Dallas-Dakota can recruit each night for three nights long.
Accepting recruiting is done by choice.
After that, Cookiemanjaro's side can choose to either bane somebody(not dallas-dakota) or try and recruit somebody each night.(still by choice)
I figured the win condition is more easy since they come into play later in the game, if at all. And after all, if the good guys win, Cookiemanjaro can start reruiting in times of peace.
It's a bit botched and something entirely new, but what do you guys think? To broken, fixable or good?

Re: Werewolf Central III - All potential wolves please read
You get kinda boned if those first three people decide not to accept recruitment. Although there's no real reason for them not to at the moment.
There has to be some reason they'd decide not to take recruitment before the role is balanced in my mind, a risk-reward system that makes it worth going over to the side of the cookie. I know the game is loaded down with crazy stuff already, but what about a good/evil mechanic like Mordokai incorporated into Baldur's Gate? There can be pro-cookie players, and pro-pie players, maybe with Castaras heading up the other team. A game within a game with recruitment.

I want Shadow's oppinon about this, since its mainly his job to sort through the chitter and chatter to sort through this stuff for the stuff he needs to update first posts and such.
Mustiado, it sounds interesting, but the negative side of it is, that it starts late in the game most likely(with three cookie 'n all) so that its chances of winning are less likely(Orso me thinks).

I'll have a look at all the rules in consideration as a whole when I get some more time. All the individual roles scattered around make for a lot of searching, which I don't have time for right now.

Re: Werewolf Central III - All potential wolves please read
So.
Rockstar III. Been kicking the idea around.
As those of you who played Rockstar II probably know, it wasn't very balanced. Each band was effectivly a group of masons, so the Wolves were in trouble, even though I boosted their numbers.
So, I've decided to take advice from Freshmeat (I think) and go about a recruitment idea. Each band has a Band Leader, who once per night can try and recruit a player. If the player is a member of their band, they will get a PM saying something like ''Blah blah is (Person) (BAND LEADER) and you have just been recruited." Something like this.
BR, Freshmeat, Cristo, and Shadow are playing. Shadow is David Bowie, Band Leader of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. BR and Cristo are not in the Spiders, but Freshmeat is Mick Ronson. Night comes, and Shadow gets his recruitment. If he tries to recruit BR or Cristo, Shadow gets a PM back saying his recruitment failed. If he tried to recruit Freshmeat, then they learn who each other are, and become masons.
This way, I can keep the flavor of the game, with the bands/masons thing, and still keep it balanced.
Also, sorry, being sort of an ass here, but I need an early start date. I can't wait until December, as that's Christmas, and then until like next May, I'll be out of town randomly, so I was hoping I could start recruiting soon, and then maybe get an Early-Mid September start date? I know they're all taken, but I'm hoping someone will trade with me or something.

Re: Werewolf Central III - All potential wolves please read
Sounds interesting, Raistlin, count me in
In other news, here is the most recent version of The Day Candyland Broke:
Spoiler
The Day Candyland Broke.
It was a nice, peaceful day in Candyland; Alarra and Zeb were tanning in the sugar-coated beach; Griever and Atreyu were busy racing to the gumdrop mountains; and all was well.
No one notices the ominous, black clouds on the horizon, or the evil that followed underneath it...
Rules:
SpoilerWelcome to the Game: The Day Candyland Broke, it is a WW-based game fought between The Good Gamers and The Game Breakers.
A few notes on the rules of this game:
Helgraf's Scry Interference WILL be in effect, so scry carefully!
In the event of a tie on lynching, whoever arrived at the tie first will be lynched.
The Game Breakers start off knowing each other.
Victory Conditions:
The Good Gamers win by defeating all The Game Breakers.
The Game Breakers win by attaining a majority in the game. The game is the considered "broken".
Any Neutral Roles will only win if they fulfill their personal win requirement.
Roles:
The Good Gamers:
All The Good Guys want to do is have some fun while playing a simple game, unfortunately, in order to accomplish this, they will have to kick out any who would put that goal in danger.
Spoiler
Alarra – One of the Lovers, they start off knowing each other and when they vote together their vote counts as three instead of two.
Atreyu, the Masked LLama – Believes strongly that the entire purpose of WW games is for fun and therefore attempts to keep active players alive so they can have more fun. Once every night, Atreyu can protect one active player from death. To be considered active, that player must not be up for autolynch.
Banjo – A master of WW games involving percentage chance lynches, he can therefore exploit the loopholes within the game to give the lynchee a chance (not large) of surviving the lynch. Cannot use on himself and, because the percentage is small, can use his ability on the day of the lynch.
Catseye2121 - Who is this person? No one quite knows, although Catseye2121 seems to think they know, well, about everything apparently! Catseye2121 will enter the game under the impression that they are Murska, unfortunately, they lack his green glowiness, and will therefore usually get incorrect scry results.
Cristo Meyers – The debacler! This master roleplayer has found that, unfortunately, his roleplaying touch has been found to be rather poisonous to his partners. Because of this, he has trained long and hard to learn the arts of the bard. Using his newfound skills, he can sing incessantly near someone of his choosing, causing so much confusion that the person will be unable to perform any actions that night or the following day other than pointing.
Detrevnisisiht – The bane of all people who like to spell out names… seriously, just, wow… anyway, because of his invertedness, his point does, in fact, decrease the total votes of who he points at by 1.
Emperor Demonking – One of the most likely people to die before the first night, Emperor Demonking has learned well the lesson of when to bandwagon and when to not. If he is on a successful bandwagon twice in a row, he is auto-lynched. However, if he leads a successful bandwagon, he gets a bonus scry.
Helgraf – The mastermind behind the rule Helgraf’s Scry Interference (Modest, isn’t he?), Helgraf can use his crazy mind powers to create a scry shield for someone (Basically re-done Fool’s role, without the scry part).
Indy – This nude player is truly a sight to behold (the ladies tell me his charisma is off the charts, if that means anything). Because of his absence of shame and abundance of confidence, he can successfully protect himself from being lynched or night-killed once.
Mordokai – A paladin of great virtue, no doubt, but not perfect. Many of his so-called “friends” have attempted to make him fall, and he has rebuffed their attempts as well as he can. However, he is on the tipping edge, if he is on a bandwagon that kills an innocent three times, he falls, and turns evil. However, if he joins a wolf-killing bandwagon three times, he gets a once-only night bane, usable at his discretion.
Murska – A lidless green eye, wreathed in fla- wait, green? How in the world does that work? Well, anyway, apparently Sauron has gone green to save the environment and is working with the good guys. Once every night he can scry someone’s role.
PhantomFox – Mason, starts off knowing radikalskippy and Ranna; these best friends are so close, they are right next to each other in the alphabet!
radikalskippy – Mason, starts off knowing PhantomFox and Ranna; these best friends are so close, they are right next to each other in the alphabet!
Ranna - Mason, starts off knowing PhantomFox and radikalskippy; these best friends are so close, they are right next to each other in the alphabet!
Shadowcaller – Once every four days (starting on the second), Shadowcaller can effectively increase the time in the day by 24 hours by delaying the narration with his still-haven’t-finished-the-Kyou-finale ways.
Uncle Festy - Uncle Festy is a huge procrastinator. He never does anything today that he could feasibly do the next day, and this carries over to his WW games. Whenever Uncle Festy makes a point, it actually counts for the following day phase.
xNadia - A rival to Eldritch Knight in stealth, but she is devoted to the light side of Candyland, steering clear of the dark chocolate side of the force. For every day xNadia goes without being pointed at for lynch, she can remove 1 point at her for lynch. Maximum point value of 5.
Zeb the Troll – The other lover. Although separated by the entire alphabet, they hold true, knowing each other at the start and when voting together, they get 3 instead of 2.
The Game Breakers:
They live to break the games worked so hard on by the narrators and have come now, the most holy of sites in the gaming world, Candyland, to ruin everyone's fun for their own amusement.
Spoiler
Andre - Shadow’s left hand man. Andre, or “The Enforcer”, enforces… stuff, yeah, with a gun, or something sharp. Anyway, every two nights he can clean up the crime scene and hold off the investigators until the next night, effectively revealing the true identities of the victims a day late.
Dr. Bath – An extremely impressive and famous avatarist turned infamous. How the good doctor cracked, we do not know, however we found images in his photobucket account, and they were quite gruesome, so we can safely assume that he probably spent way too much time reading fanfiction. However, his artistic ability has granted him the power to change any Game Breaker’s appearance to that of a random villager for one night. This power cannot be used on the same person again until Dr. Bath has gone through the entire list of wolves excluding himself (who he can’t use it on). Dr. Bath uses his ability by naming the role he wants disguised to the narrator.
Eldritch Knight- A seasoned player who is very good at staying under the radar, he was selected very early by the Grand Game Breaker himself! Due to his under-the-radar abilities, he can elect to send in his real point to the narrator via pm. When lynched, the "EK Maneuver" takes effect, effectively preventing any wolves from being lynched the next day.
Evnafets – Deceptively cute and childish, Lil’ Evvie is more devious than he looks, for he has been planning on taking over the Gumdrop Mountains from Atreyu for some time. He has re-christened himself as Lil’ Evvie, the Destroyer of Worlds. If killed, he will take one person responsible for his death with him.
Shadow – The BBEG himself, famous for The Rule of Shadow and whatnot. He has handpicked his team and prepared for a fight (not actually alpha pick, just randomized). He has one goal, and that is to break this game he has, well, broken into. To do this, he employs crazy ninja magic to figure out the role of one person each night.
Supagoof – Shadow’s right hand man, if Shadow should fall in battle, Supagoof is ready and willing to step up and take the reigns ofhis evil empirehis evil Game Breaking Group and will take over the scry ability.
The Neutral Roles:
These people have found themselves caught up in this conflict but are apathetic as to its conclusion. They merely want to settle their own person conflicts.
Spoiler
Aemoh – Get him! He’s Sephiroth!!!! Oh, wait, wrong game, but he is Sephiroth, so, serious, lynch him in AC 3. Because of his avatar, no one can trust Aemoh, I’m afraid neither team will accept him as a comrade. Due to his lack of alliances, Aemoh only has one weapon at his disposal to get trust, his vote. Every night he has the option of surrendering his vote to another player, increasing their vote’s power by 1. Aemoh can still do a fake point in thread to put off those evil little spreadsheets. If the player Aemoh targets would have their voting power lost due to a special ability, they will get back their voting power due to Aemoh’s sacrifice. If Aemoh restores 3 Good Gamer's voting power, he will be accepted into their folds and gain their win condition. If he restores 2 Game Breaker's voting power, he will likewise be accepted in. Otherwise, his only goal is to survive.
Castaras - The nemesis of all things cookie, Castaras is responsible for Dallas-Dakota's current cookieless conundrum. Of the 10 cookies of ultimate power, Castaras has destroyed 7. To further the ways of Pieomancy, Castaras seeks the final 3 cookies, as when each cookie is destroyed, its power transfers to the remaining cookies and, when all but one are destroyed, it can be used to turn all the world's cookies INTO PIES!!!! MUAHAHAHAAHA! Oh, and because D-D is a ninja and stole Castaras' lunch money back in 2nd grade, but she doesn't like to talk about that. Anyway, each night Castaras will be allowed to pie two people in the face. If they were holding a cookie, their voting priviledge is suspended for the next two days and any special abilities by one night, and that cookie is given to Castaras. To win, Castaras must collect all the cookies, once that has been accomplished, Castaras will wreak holy havoc on all followers of Cookiemanjaro, expect much death.
CurlyKitGirl – The nemesis of all things squid bones, she is hunting down the preposterous notion that squids could have bones, I mean come on, what in the world?!?!? Every night she can check a person to see if they hold a squid bone. If the player she targets is holding a squid bone, the bone is destroyed and the player then loses their next day ability to point. CKG is on Team Neutral and wins if she destroys over 50% of the squid bones handed out.
DD – The chaotic, blue cookie monster has somehow stumbled upon this peaceful game and has demanded his stolen cookies to be returned. As the high priest of Cookiemanjaro, D-D has the ability to recruit a priest of Cookiemanjaro on Night 1. Every night he (and the priest) can each pick one person to recruit as a simple follower of Cookiemanjaro. The followers will use whatever skills they posess (and a helpful cookie-scry they will gain when accepting Cookiemanjaro into their lives) to hunt down and find these cookies before Castaras.
Fleeing Coward – Nuisance or savior? No one knows for sure. Because of his cowardice he can decrease the total votes for his lynch by 1 due to sympathy, I suppose. Also, he can, once per game make a bonus scry, at any time. Unfortunately for him the scry is public and his identity will be revealed along with his identity.
Freshmeat – A lone gunman with both strategy and a certain fondness for westerns. He has an ongoing feud with Mustiado that spans the ages, the genres and tvtropes. Every night Freshmeat can pick one target, if that target is Mustiado, Mustiado dies and Freshmeat wins, leaving the game in a very desperado type way.
Griever – Narrator, better known as He-Who-We-Shall-Not-Toy-With
Haruki-kun – Known to many as the Angel of Ambiguous Allegiance, we can never quite be sure who Haruki is fighting for, if, in fact, Haruki is fighting for anyone else than himself. At the start of the game, Haruki can pick either Team Good or Team Evil. The first person to die (from the allegiance of Haruki's choice) in the game will have their role re-assigned to Haruki, win condition and all.
Mustadio – Nemesis to Freshmeat, Mustiado can once every night see if someone is Freshmeat. If they are, then Mustiado enacts the Mustiado maneuver, killing Freshmeat. Unfortunately this maneuver is so… ummm, daring, that it causes the death of Mustiado, probably something to do with killing Freshmeat on an oil rig with a flamethrower.
Vampiric – Vampiric took a wrong turn at YOW 3 and instead of ending up at Vampire III has somehow found their way into Candyland. To escape, Vampiric must collect essences! Every night Vampiric can pick someone to bite, receiving a piece of their essence. The chosen person cannot act at all the next day. Vampiric, however, will get a bonus +1 to their point for that day. Cannot target self with bite. To win, Vampiric must live through the game and sample each of these roles: A Wolf, The Seer/Devil/Scry Interference-Man, A Mason; if Vampiric successfully samples all three, they can leave the game early or stay in, creating more havoc.
Zar Peter – Zar Peter is an expert in bone-logic. He, for example, is absolutely sure that squid bones do exist. In order to further his point, he has crafted a large number of fake squid bones along with a collection of real squid bones. Every night he can attempt to, through the narrators, give both a real and fake squid bone to separate people. If they accept the real squid bone, they are granted a once only +1 to their vote the next day. If they accept a fake, they lose their pointing ability the next day. Zar Peter is on Team Neutral, he wins if over half of the bones he has handed out still exist at the end of the game.
Cookies:
Spoiler
There will be three cookies in the game. They will be handed out to random people at the start. That person may decide to eat the cookie or pass it on that night. If he eats the cookie he MUST pass the cookie on as well. IF you eat the cookie, Dallas-Dakota will be informed. The cookie can give a wide variety of abilities including a once-only scry, immunity to the next day's lynch, or others...
Pass the Boom:
Spoiler
Candyland was such a beautiful place, and we should always remember it well as it was, before these Game Breakers (sssss) assaulted this wonderful land.
In order to fully remember this land, I think a song is in order *clears throat* Laaaaa, alright, now that my throat is clear, I would like to announce that Cristo will be singing. Cristo will start the game with the Boom De Yada and will pass it (via narrator) to someone at night. That person then must pass the Boom the next night, etc. etc. The Good Gamer's Goal is to Pass the Boom through all the surviving members of the Good Guy Side if they succeed, they get a super-secret bonus! However, Supagoof, being the evil guy that he surely is, covets the Boom De Yada. If the Boom De Yada is passed to Supagoof, Team Evil will get a ultra-secret bonus instead of Team Good!
Some things added:
Mechanics:
Boom De Yada
Cookie Control
Characters:
Castaras Added
Mustiado Added (Some stupid mistake that he was left out of the first one )
Haruki-kun Added
xNadia Added
Catseye2121 Added
Dallas-Dakota Tweaked

Castaras seems overpowered.
Also, you say that Haruki can choose good or evil, but he gets the first death´s role, winning conditions and all. So you could have a evil Mordokai or a good Shadow?

I really like the one you gave me, but I'm not sure about stacking it with the others replacing roles. It might be better to simply make whoever gets my role to be able to pick sides, but always scry as "Haruki".

@griever: You also didn't mention that you totally redid my role. Thank you, bye the way.

I might like to modify my role to something else, if I can think up something sufficiently interesting and foxy enough.
Also, random pondering: Animaniacs WW game, yes/no?Avatar by Glasswhistle

Holy cow! I am extremely honored to not only be a character in your game, but also a Game Breaker! And the FIRST Game Breaker mentioned! (Yes, yes, my name starts with an "A" - that's also randomly gotten me killed... but I'm not bitter)
Thanks! But, Ask Shadow - he's MY right hand man, I'm not his left hand. And I've met Goof, is he even right handed?Last edited by Andre Fairchilde; 2008-08-24 at 11:32 PM.

BWHAAHAHAHA. I've actually come up with that plan, Griever. A daring, high speed assault with a zippo and one rather oily rag. It's much more McGyver-esque than you'd think.

Re: Werewolf Central III - All potential wolves please read
I´ve tried various meanings to contact WrstDmEvr, which have failed.
His gitp profile shows that his last activity was almost a month ago.
He accepted to be my co-narrator for the LotR WW, should I drop him or give him some more time?
Andre and I, in the meanwhile, have decided it be better that the LotR WW game, turn into The Fellowship(first part of the lord of the rings triology) WW.
So stuff is being thrown around.
Shadow, what is the soonest date that Andre and I can start recruiting for The Fellowship WW? Don´t sign us in for anything yet, I just want to know.

You're planning a LotR WW? Dang. *tosses first real WW game idea in trash*. Almost had the ring mechanics all worked out, too.
