I have a recipe for home made khalua.
It starts with Smirnoff 100. None of that 30 proof crap for me.
And it's actually pretty damn easy to make.

Oh my gods, I am in love with wikiHow.

I have learnt: How to Act English, How to take a Shower, How to Sell Gum at School, How to Talk like a Pirate, and how to Flash on Runescape.

I also mocked the How to Act English article on my blog.

I make it in large batches, but you can slim down the recipe if you want to make, say, a single bottle.

*Boil 5 cups of water with 3 pounds of sugar, creating simple syrup.
*Boil another 4 cups of water with 1.5 ounces of vanilla, 2 tablespoons of chocolate syrup and 12 tablespoons of instant coffee (but it's can't be freeze dried instant). This is your flavoring mix.
*Combine both of these with a bottle of vodka. I prefer Smirnoff 100 because it's fairly inexpensive, but still good enough considering it doesn't have to be fantastic.
*Once cool, pour the contents into a large jug.
*Shake the jug vigorously every day for one month.

After this month of aging, it's ready to drink. It's actually ready to drink without this month of aging, but it tastes better after aging a bit.

    Enjoy!

I sometimes use 2 bottles of vodka, or sometimes grain alcohol.

If it's not shaken it can begin to separate. Once it's aged enough that doesn't happen anymore.
    Not sure why...?

The cap on the jug will be extremely hard to get off the first time. The sugar in the mixture seals it off pretty well.

Thanks! Oh, and, you know, you could just use rubber gloves. If I wear rubber gloves I can open pretty much anything.

In other news, I think I just found pretty much everyone's blogs. And all I did was click on one person's sig link.

Trust me. Rubber gloves aren't going to do it. I'm a fairly strong guy and I have a hard time opening it the first time.
The syrup-like nature, mixed with the shaking, and allowed a full month to set....

    Heh, what a coincidence.
But what Shadow says still makes sense. And now I want to try it, though it may be a little tricky convincing my parents, as I'm underage for drinking.

On iChat an UnNamed Mod says: "Shadow just told you to shake your jugs daily "

My reply was along the lines of: "Um, he told me to shake some jugs, not necessarily mine. But I am sure Indurain would."

So, if I understand this correctly, Thes is saying that Indurain wants to shake her jugs?

Shadow, this is a fascinating recipe, but I doubt I'd be able to keep hold of a bottle of Kahlua unopened for a month, and thus...I'm just going to carry on buying them.

Does WikiHow have the same bias as most of the DIY self-help sites I've found have, i.e. being based on how things are in the U.S.?

(toilet lid, still attached to flushing mechanism, perched atop toilet lid--peering into the tank with puzzlement)

Yes, another one started malfunctioning, and this particular make hasn't shown up on any site to date. Replacement valve I can buy, but for a side-mounted valve and water supply, which this one ain't. . .

Yes. It does have that bias. It assumes that gum is popular at school, that my locker is tall, and that I want to be a cheerleader.
But toilets, I believe, are universal. Broken ones are universally painful. Good luck.
