The Gem Sea Sailors

A man is quietly sipping some tea when the door opens, and he jerks around, hand flying to the longest of two curved swords stuck in a sash tied around his waist. Who in blazes are all you people?! Oh, it's you Gav. Gav... who in blazes are all these people? He sighs heavly and pushes his long black hair away from his face.

Salmaan steps forward, obviously rushed and agitated, "I'm Salmaan, this guy told me you could tell me about the Crows. I need to know where they are, how they operate, the works."

[The_JJ]

Oh good you to, he says over Gav's babbling Hey Gav, take the dai katana off the wall out back and go hit the dummies will you. Gav dissapears deeper into the house and you hear a crash. Moments later you hear Gav yelling Haiiiiyaaa!!! That kid is insane. Now, who in blazes are the rest of you?

Menchi makes a humble bow, saying, "Menchi Twinklin, Sage of Boccob the Uncaring, Master Ship Cartographer of the Bloody Foam, now disbanded from them due to illegal practices of the crew."

Edward Farrington

"The name's Edward. It's a pleasure." He holds out a hand and smiles curtly.

Oh yeah, the Bloody Foam. Not too subtle. And Mr. Farrington? Really? Or is there another Edward that wears that tailor?

"I'll confess you have me at a disadvantage, Mr....?"

Lee. Ozimandious Lee.

[Kuma Da]

Edward Farrington

"It's a pleasure, Mr. Lee. I do hope you'll excuse the interruption, but my colleagues and I were interested in learning a bit more about the Crows. We heard that you were the man to go to."

"Yes, I'm Salmaan the Razor, Gav was it? Told me you kknew about the Crows, I have unfinished business with them."

And I'm Petra... of Wallstone. For some reason she says this last part a bit quietly. But enough of me. Strange man, I've come here too to see about the Crows. If I can find it lucrative to either slay 'em or join them that is.

The Razer eh? And Wallstone? Ah, yes. The axe should've been a give away. I'd heard rumors of the 'barbarian princess.' Pissed your father right off you did, taking his ax like that, so we've heard. We're almost kindred souls you and I, but we'll talk later. As for the Crows... well, sit down, have some tea. Gav? Gav!? Uhh... I think he knocked himself out.

The look Petra gives the man is clear of intent: "Watch what you say". Boy is she clearly displeased with the flippan remarks of her current status, or maybe she doesn't want to be embarrassed in front of the nice adventurers.

In any case...

Intimidate!!! (1d20+2=10)

I'm sorry, m'Lady. (sarcasm is only applied to the last word.)

Ahem. Well I'm also one of the Indigo Empires newly promoted nobility. Or I should say, my father was going to be one, before they killed him. The Crows, that is. He was with a ship carrying a chests of jewels, his grande finale as a cvilian trader, when they attacked. As to who tipped them off... well, beside the point. Now I've set up here, hiding from my father's debts, which he racked up to finance this deal, looking for revenge. I didn't really expect Gav to come back with a whole gaggle of adventurers to do it for me.

"Perfect," Salmaan says with a sadistic grin, "Show me the way."

He smiles. So I won't even have to pay you. As to how to kill the Crows, well, they're based out of somewhere, but no one knows where.

[SilentNight]

"So you've got no clue at all," Salmaan says in disbelief. Then she curses and says, "Useless giants, why'd I let my hopes get up?

[ColonelFuster]

Menchi dosen't raise his voice.
"Perhaps we can come to an agreement that satisfies us all? If we're going to do something, we should get on about it."

[The_JJ]

Well if anybody knew where they hid out, they'd all be dead. Well, hostages and bribes aside. We do this thing called 'hire adventurers to go find them.'

Maybe this is just me, but I feel kind of frustrated with the pace of this campaign. I don't want to be talking out of turn here... just let me know. If we're gonna have the skillmonkey find the Crow's hideout, let's take 20 on that Gather Info check and be done with it.

I'm still here too, I just had a rough week of job hunting behind me now. However, I have an in character idea to help galvanize things along...

"Well a slayer stands before you!" the petite barbarian bellows, losing what finite patience she holds, " I told you louts I'd either kill the Crows or join them depending on demand, and I'm already sick of this place! stomping up to Lee, and puffing out her tiny chest in anger, Petra prods the man in the shoulder. "Tell the halfling anything you know so we can go find them with some semblance of an idea where to look! You must know SOMETHING or you'd be in a bar drowning in sorrows about not being able to tell people like us anything to rid the world of pirate scum!

You hear the door opening behind you. Ah yes, the wizard is here too. Now, look, the Crows musted be based out of an island somewhere... in this area he circles a good chunck of the northern Gem Sea. I've bought a ship with the last of my money and crewed it with my best sailors, but we need some fighters to really go out and get them. Oh, and a navigator too. And maybe someone to... I don't know, improvise. Sooo, do you all want the job or not?

Menchi's smirk and glinting eyes travel to each member of the group in turn, looking to see which one would be the leader... it certainly couldn't be him.
