Shadow looks at the rather dead, and empty room, getting up to go to the bar, the apparently self cleaning table attempting to take his drink. (he left it there.) so he attempted to nab it back.

Shadow himself being able to dematerialize understood that this was in fact not a self cleaning bar, but an invisble servant of sorts, so when the being refused to give him the bottle, obviously thinking it was just trash even though it was half full he gave a violent jerk, in an attempt to get the beer back.
