Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
Gres
"That was the original plan, but whats the saying... everything changes... Anyways as long as I have a wireless connection I can drive from anywhere. While I might not be so good with a gun, if you run into any old school locks in the offline section..." Gres tapered off. Frankly he was more distracted by Eve's adjustments then he would care to admit.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
Ciel
"I say we dive in. Evey can lie and say the rest of the guards are outside in a perimeter. We can't back out now. We'll be seen as losers!" Ciel, pouting a bit, adjusted her coat like Eve did so people could stare at her chest too.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
Alviss
Alviss rolled his eyes to himself, obviously not impressed with his female counterparts' flaunting. It certainly was not that their counterparts were lacking, but their timing could not have been worse. "If anybody has any objections, feel free to interrupt, but losing two people is going to need some updates to the plan... Luke, do you have any spare uniforms that might fit me any better than Ceter's? Maintaining the cover is a three-man job... or, two-man, one woman. I guess I'm going in with the two of you. Gres, do you have any combat drones? Even just really light stuff will work. If you do, send them to the roof to cover my old position... We were hoping not to need that anyway, but if we can get something on it it'll help. Also it would've done a lot of good to get the magician in to scout around a little beforehand... But that can't be helped. Last off, we're all synched up as far as comms go, yes? Once we go in this is going to happen fast, and that's no time to try keying your mike and get no response. Did I miss anything?" Alviss glances up at the dark sky above, glad to be out and about at almost midnight instead of almost noonday like last time. Thank goodness I don't have to worry about that this time out...

"I'll have two drones in the air, and the ability to put two more on the ground when needed," Gres replied to the vamp, the undead one that is.

"Hehe, you're all ready by me. Let's do this so we can get paid. This isn't the good kind of exposing myself." Ciel's avatar giggles again.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
Luke takes off his jacket having already changed into his security guard uniform. "Can you keep this in your van Gres? I just didn't want to risk getting mugged since I already had to leave my heavier guns back home." He said with a slight sigh. "Either way we better get movign Alviss. I'll make Eve wait for you.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
Alviss
"Won't be two seconds," Alviss comments, ducking into the van, and keeping mostly to his word. He reappeared a surprisingly short period later, still wearing his heavy black boots, but the rest of his outfit changed to match Luke's. It was a standard dull blend of green and grey with various patches of rank and affiliation stapled along the breast pocket and sleeves. Over the whole thing was a light flack vest that bore the logo of an obscure, unknown private security firm on the collar. Featured with appropriate prominence in open carry on his hip was his Colt L36 pistol, which had apparently been on his person the whole time. Alviss ran a hand through his medium-length, uncooperative blonde hair and stretched a little, getting used to the new clothing. "Ok, let's do this."
SpoilerSeems to me that a flack vest would be standard equipment for a military-esque bodyguard detail, so I assume that would be part of the uniform? May I put the armor bonuses for one on the sheet?

Gres takes Luke's jacket for holding and offers up his spy drones for whomever wishes to carry them so that the two of them waiting on the 'outside' could keep an eye on the action.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
After ducking the flimsy, orange and white bars meant to keep out maurading Bicycles and maned by a guard looking very peaceful during his paid nap. You cross the campus proper to the main building. The main door swings open and a security guard manning the front desk looks up from his hastily hidden magazine.
"What's going on? Control didn't tell us about anything going on tonight." He says briskly.

Watching through the monitors, Ciel prepared to intercept the transmission from the obviously curious guard. Her avatar now looked like the base's AI, and she was mad at her very boring avatar.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
Eve
Eve looked at the guard from above her glasses.
Well, I guess I can't always rely on others to do their jobs... She spoke in a load whisper.
I am here to check the status some research. And time is of the essence. I had hoped my subordinates had gone through the appropriate channels before my arriving. It seems they have failed to do so.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
Gres
The dwarf sat in his van watching and listening to the groups progress from the drones's feed. He spent his time making sure that Ceil was getting a good signal from them and knew what was going on. After all she was the one that would have to work the 'magic' to help the team get in 'cleanly.'
Right now she could use the aslyum's systems but once on the correct floor, those systems cut out and the drones would be the only way... assuming they didn't cut out as well

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
Ciel
Impatient and fed up, Ciel materialized on the front desk's HUD as the hospital's AI. Commlink scan and security RFID scan completed. Dr. Marie Meadowlark and accompanying security detail, arriving for scheduled follow-up."
Hee. Evey probably hated her phony name. Ciel suppressed the urge to giggle as she gave the order for the front desk guy to let her in, because her security was all clear.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
The Guard's commlink buzzes as he holds up a finger to forstall any further talking. "Ah I see. Why aren't they going in through normal channels? Yeah Dan's probably sleeping. Understood."
Turning to you all "Control just explained everything. Head on up.
Going up the stairs you pass by 2 seperate guards walking their routes who give you a double take as they walk by.
Exiting out onto the 5th floor you know that the guards are just around the next corner. Looking around the edge you see that there are 4 guards one with the distinct Mossberg shape. The rest are armed with SMGs that are less distinct but definately military grade.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
Alviss
Alviss nods subtly as he enters, looking over the gathered guards quickly and sizing up their strength and potential weakness. Stepping forward out of the elevator, he shoves a hand in one pocket and produces a pack of cigarettes. Mouthing one, he swats the pockets in his uniform and in the armored vest over them, swearing quietly for effect. Finally, he pulls the cig from his mouth irritably, as though battling down a craving, and asks, "Does anybody have a light?" He glanced around at the guards assembled in front of him. "I'll trade ya, joes for fire. Fat lot having spares'll do me if I can't find a lighter..." He muttered, grabbing it again in his teeth and re-checking his pockets.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
As you approach you notice that they are definately well trained they split up so as to reduce risk of a grenade and they prepare to duck into whatever cover they can get in the hallway. The cover ammounts to some ugly columns but they are much better than nothing when the bullets start flying.
The one with the Mossberg approachs taking care not to cut his friends out of the shot. "Sorry the bosses don't want us ducking out for smoking breaks so none of us have a light on us. Your best bet is to go down to your security station and ask one of your fellow rent-a-cops for one cause nobody but authorized personal are allowed up here." He says in a polite and crisp tone that people always get when they want to be polite while making it abundantly clear that you aren't welcome.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
Eve
[Ciel, can you spoof access for us. I would rather be on my way out with the package before exchanging gun fire.
And these boys are well trained, so I don't think my usual approach will work here.]
Though the message was distinctly for Ciel, Eve made sure to send it to each of the other members of the team.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
Eve
Eve turns her head slightly to speak to Alviss.
You aren't being paid to smoke, let alone speak.
She then transmits her access orders to the guard in charge, or at least the one that spoke.
I have work that needs to be done. Unless you plan to be as cumbersome as these two guards.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
Gres
Listening and watching the feeds Gres tries to find good locations for his arial drones to fire through windows and whatnot. He didn't want to have to, but this was a place where things could go really wrong and he wanted to be ready.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
Alviss
Alviss gives an eyebrow to the guard in front of him, and then the other to Eve, but smiles gamely and pulls the cigarette from his mouth, makes a motion to throw it to the side but thinks better, and stuffs it in a pocket. "Apologies ma'am... And sir..." He glances sideways at the guard. When Eve makes the comment about them being cumbersome he sighs small where she can't see, expressing mild disappointment that she didn't seem to want them around.
SpoilerAlviss will try to hang back by the elevator while Eve is showing appropriate clearances and getting us into the room to drop off Gres' mini-drone.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
Gres is able to find a window that looks down the hallway. It's not big and it is a fair distance away but it will allow him to fire some hot lead at the figures inside.
The guard starts scanning the papers with an untrusting frown on his face.
Guard spot check

going to need an opposed roll of Eve's con+charisma+Ciel's spoof program (6) -3 because this is outside the normal approachLast edited by Name_Here; 2008-12-16 at 03:48 PM.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
Gres
For those watching the feeds the see the one from an aerial drone as it peeks in the window. They see the group get processed by the on-board smartgun system into friendlys and targets. (Team members are friendlys-guards are targets) Virtual crosshairs form near the various guards necks and proablities appear showing what the drone calculates as its odds of putting an explosive round there. The numbers change slightly is the drone drifts on the air currents. The drones relays its status as, Targets acquired. Awaiting Fire Command or Abort

Sorry for taking so long, this is turning out to be a busy December.

3 Hits, phooie.
Ciel will need to roll her programming.
Eve does her best to maintain her cool as the guard checks the data.

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
The guard frowns more. But after a moment says "Well I guess it all checks out. You can head on in but your escort will need to stay out here.
And then he leans in close and says in a whisper "Next time call HQ and tell them that you need an escort so we can do this all in house. This is supposed to be a secret facility."

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
Eve
I am not in charge of such trivialities, but I will keep that in mind next time.
Eve then walks past the guards and waits for the door to be opened.
[These guys aren't push-overs and I don't believe we will be able to bluff our way out with the 'package'.
Assume a shoot first approach on our way out.]

Re: Emergence (Shadowrun)
One guard opens the door keeping one eye on the rest of the group.
He turns for a moment to close the door after Eve enters dropping his guard for a split second.
