    Coming right up. Plum pours the scotch, walks it over to Scarlett and hands it to her. After taking a sip of his own drink, he finally notices Mrs White's predicament with the overly full table. Forgive me Mr. White. I needed a drink to steady my nerves and didn't notice until just now. He sets his glass down and begins clearing the empties to make room for the tea tray.

You're not obligated to wait around until he's done interviewing the reverend, which he seems to be making no progress in.
