Mafia VIII Game Thread - Day 6

"Ah. A Spanish Doubloon." Jonathan picks up the coin and tilts it to get it in the light better and look at its date. "Found it by the river? You could at least put a little effort into your excuses and say down by the coast." Jonathan grins and winks at his brother before handing back the coin. Picking up the box, he puts it back in his coat. "If you'll excuse me, I'll be right back. I have something to take care of."

Jonathan gets up and heads towards the restroom. Just out of sight of his brother he stops a man and whispers to him as he slips him a small bill. Could you go to the barkeep and tell him that Jonathan Carnahan is ready to pay his tab? Thanks. Jonathan continues to the restroom. Making sure no one's around, he slides open the window and proceeds to exit the bar and work his way around front where he imagines he'll meet up with his rather infuriated brother soon enough.

Liriel sits out on her moonlit porch, and watches as the moon rises. Swinging back and forth on the swing, she watches as the moon gets higher and higher. She had done a lot lately. Maybe I should take a break she thought. But then who would let her go? And who would replace her?

Sighing contently, she swung back and forth and fell asleep, with a blanket on top of her.

He grins to himself, rolling the Doubloon (thank you.) over his fingers and down his knuckles, sipping on his bourbon. All the more reason to hear about your box now, brother... And they call me the evil twin. He adjusts his angle so he can see the door, and hopefully his rather annoyed brother returning from his dismantled car.--

Other than some sort of wierd cult of several hundred people chanting through the streets saying "Imhotep... Imhotep... Imhotep...Imhotep... Imhotep... Imhotep... " over and over and a rain storm of blood and locusts - nothing happens.

Oh. And Jonathan Carnahan's body turns up in the river. Turns out he didn't have the right answers.


Day 4 Starts!

Birds chirp, and the morning edition of the newspapers are delivered.

Day ends in 48 hours.

Jonathan notices pretty quickly that he's not going anywhere tonight. So while he's out here, he makes sure his brother just happens to have "lost" his sparkplug. Waiting an adequate amount of time for the barkeep to have thoroughly harassed his brother for the rather large tab, Jonathan heads back in nonchalantly and sits down. "Sorry about that. Took a little longer than I thought. Ahem. Now where were we?"

Liriel wakes up in the morning. She couldn't believe it. How could she have fallen asleep outside. Shaking off a layer of frost on the blanket, she sees the rose fall to the ground. Someone was here last night she thought, and she had a pretty good idea who too. Picking up the rose, she set it in a vasem and prepared breakfast for herself. Today was Saturday, no work for her.

"Book discussions: Weekly at 7pm Thursdays. First one next week ((day 10 in-thread)). First book: Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. Extra copies have been ordered for interested customers."

Maybe this will increase interest in sales, distracting people from the horrors that have plagued our fair city... I hope that a few people are interested... Maybe Dostoevsky's a touch long for one week... Nahh...

I don't think I want to follow either of these bandwagons. EDK is just getting lynched too often and Amplify might just as well be a villager power role as a wolf, we should hear with him before we lynch him. Therefore I vote for Atreyu the Masked LLama.
