While you are discussing food and stupidity, your employer enters the mess, a frown on his face. "Good that I've found you. Jind Mahi, I want you to take over as the ships pilot for the time being. Mr. Lemnos has been relieved from his duties. Do you think you can do this?"

"Not saying we should blow him out of an airlock; he did something stupid, but that wasn't treason. He'd propably be imprisoned, though, with our merchant marine. Anyway, I was just saying I ... I would feel more comfortable if our pilot was a bit more on the mentally stable side, you know?"

She nods her head. "Good, I will assist you any way I can. The computer system is currently analysing whether the grenade altered our course in any way, I initiated that ... the results should be there in ten minutes. There's nothing bad ahead, nor significant deviation from course, for the next few parsec, though, so we might have escaped with only a dash on our face after all ..."

Eating her Poppler, she watches him grill the fish. "Say, would you tell me what gravball really is about, how it's played, and whether you really need grenades for it?"

When the arkanian expedition leader enters and, just like that, promotes her, of all people, she is startled at first, then nods and slightly bows. "I think so, yes, though you are aware of my low flight hours record? And I would like to nominate Mr. Calith here co-polit, if you agree. I'm confident his experience will be a great asset to me."

"Your people built this ship. You know it inside out. I trust you can fly it." His smile is a little strained. "Sure, you can share duties, if you want. Hopefully we won't need any combat piloting." An expression of mock horror crosses over his face. "Oh, I shouldn't have said that, right?"

She looks at him puzzledly with her left eye, then claps her eyes in amusement. "Oh, I suspected that ... anyway, I am confident I could manage anything but combat piloting, so ... I'd just be glad to have someone around who could take my place then, though I of course hope that won't happen. And yes, I am very familiar with the blueprints and workings of this type of ship. I even wrote a part of the operating system for the main and auxiliary engines."

She then turns her right eye to Cailith. "So ... will you join with me?"

Calith smiles and nods an affirmative. I hope there's no combat, either. I may be able to fly this thing, but I wouldn't stand much of a chance against skilled foes. "If we need to make more jumps, though, I will need someone skilled to Astrogate. I'm not an interstellar pilot by nature, but I should be able to keep this thing from hurtling planetside with no chance for our escape."

He turns some as the Arkanian walks out. "Honestly, I know nothing about grav-ball. That is why I chose not to play the game. Let's suffice it to say that, in this case, it was supposed to be a friendly game between people and it turned ugly. Competition, especially among males, tend to get that way if left unchecked. It's a genetic thing; even when we no longer need to, we still are just out to impress the fairer sex. The grenade and the ensuing trouble...well, that was just a stupid kid doing stupid stuff."

Scio walkes into the mess hall, breathing slightly heavily. He walks over towards Calith and Jind. " it wasn't all the kid's fault. The Jedi prectially dared him to throw it, although she may actually have emotions, i can't tell, she's hard to read. Anyone have a dri-- CRAP!! Marcus! he's problly in a comma by now!""

Tilting her head slightly at seeing his smile, she nods. "Thank you. That gesture with your mouth signals amusement? Anyway, Thank you. I am good with astrogacy and know this ship'S design by heart, but I'm a greenhorn when it comes to flying."

She then proceeds to listen to his explanation of what happened, blinking in amusement. "The fair sex would be your females, right? And, do they appreciate that usually, and Master Narke would be the exception? Nor was her padawan, or did I miss that? How ..."

When Scio bursts in and interrupts, and then shouts about a coma, she's just confused. Not willing to discuss this yet again, she just asks "Coma? Why? And should we alert Caewil? He's scared of her, for whatever reason, but ..."

"I was going to see if he had booze before he got yelled at, and his bunk looked somewhat messy, like something was covered up. He probally got depressed, got out his stash, and is most likely going into booze piosining by now. Sorry for the interruption." He then dashed off towards Marcus' bunk, and knocked on the door. "Hey Marcus, it's Scio, you okay in there?"

Marcus does not respond. He has found peace in The Force, and he is unwilling to emerge into the world again.

"Marcus?Something seems wrong.." Scio reaches out with the force the try to sense Macrus

Not being able to sense anything amiss, but still unerved. Scio opens the door to Marcus' cabin. He sees him lying on the ground, seemingly in a trance."Crap! Marcus, can you hear me?"Scio tries shaking Marcus, trying to wake him.

he's unwilling to return to the world around him, and unresponsive. Scio hasn't hung with force users in a while and doesnt know that Marcus was a jedi, so for non jedi, nonresponsive, but aware state = coma i think

"That was an unusual behavior pattern, wasn't it?" she asks, one eye resting on the exit, the other on Calith. "'Should we pursue him?"

Thinking about it for a second, she makes the nodding gesture. "I think we should. Coming?" She eats the remainder of the poppler and then would head out, preferrably in Calith's company ...

"I'd rather not, but this shouldn't burn TOO badly if I step out. The boy likely is drowning his sorrows in something alcoholic. I see no real reason to stress. If he's stupid enough to drink himself to death, then he deserves no less." Calith steps toward the door and the Calimarian. Despite himself, he is beginning to become attached to her. It is...refreshing to see someone with a more upbeat attitude but still totally serious about surviving. You don't see a lot of those kinds of people.

"My aplogies for disturbing you."Scio takes a few bottles, puts them in his robes, and leaves the Cabin. He then begins to wander back towards the mess hall.

Marcus resumes his trance, hopefully getting some actual rest this time around.

"Yes, propably."

Nodding, she leads the way, taking some moments to get accustomed to being the person responsible for the well-being of everyone onboard, the ship, and the mission. Certainly not an easy task, but she'd show she wasn't some worthless Quarren and would let them down ... besides,s he had a battle-hardened combat pilot veteran to help out if there really was a starfight.

About halfway, they should meet Scio. "And? How is he?" she asks, trying to deceipher whether the expression on the humans face was sadness, confusion, or relief ...

Scio shrugged as he spoke to Jind.I was overreacting a bit, but it was ... strange, he was, not sleeping, but almost, in a trance until he was woken. Bahh, it's probally just been too long since ive gone without something bad happening, so im getting paranoid."

Went into a Force Trance after getting drunk? Hmmm...weird kid. "Yeah, I'm not terribly surprised. It's a Jedi technique that allows someone to drift into a state of rest but maintain total awareness of their surroundings. As a side effect, you can grab 8 hours worth of sleep in only 4. It is a pretty simple technique that anyone who can feel the Force strongly jumps on pretty quickly. I've seen it done, so if you want to know more, see me later." Calith is quite noticeably avoiding how he knows these things to avoid Jind from thinking he's just ANOTHER unstable Force user on this ship.

"I will, it sounds really usefull, but still, doesn't it trouble you this kid who carries a lightsaber, deflects a question about where he got it, and doesn't seem to realize he's force sensitive, can use a trained technique?" Scio scracthed his head, and leaned against a wall.

"When you've seen some of the crazy things I imagine we've both seen, does it really surprise you that much. Perhaps something broke his brain. I'm not terribly worried.

"To tell the truth, I don't know why I should be worried. I firmly believe that this entire mission was doomed from the start, to judge by the incidents that have brought us here." A manic smile crosses his face.

Scio laughed, then reached into his robes and brought out one of the bottles of Arkanian sweet milk. " I got some of this from Marcus, what say we have little celebration of not dieing yet, you , me, Jind, and that creepy little doctor girl too?"

"Indeed; have her come to the mess and I'll fix us a feast. Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow, we may find ourselves with a nasty rash!" In truth, it seems like Calith has cracked some. They're all insane! I'm trapped on a ship with a bunch of crazies and we're all being shipped off to some unspoken corner of the galaxy for the insane! He begins giggling to himself crazily.
