Exactly what I was thinking.

Hlethiuk get impacient while waiting for Shagga to return. When he hears Shagga's response, he says angrily,
"Aw, screw this! I don't know about you guys, but I don't have forever to do this! I have plans! I wasn't even supposed to be in jail!"
He grabs the drunken man by the shirt and pushes him up against a nearby stone wall, his claws nicking the edge of the man's neck. He gives him a rough shake to get him to pay attention.
"Let's start simple, what's your name?"

The poor guy burps and vomits all over himself and Hlethuk. "Ish thish hell?"

Hlethiuk glares at the man, puts his face close and whispers,
"You wish."

He shakes the man again and draws blood with his claws.
"What is your NAME?!"

Either it was the shaking or the claws, but the man finally seems to snap out of his stupor. "My namesh Elliot Branner. Who the bloody hell are you, scratching decent folk who are just trying to enjoy the evening?" He looks around. "Why are outside?"

"We're outside because you were too drunk to move yourself.
You," he motions to Svendren, without taking his eves off of Elliot,"You said something about a door?"

Before Svendren can sy anything, Elliot blurts out Door? I don't know anything about any doors!"

[AetherFox]

"Ah, now that got you scared, didn't it? If you didn't know anything about doors, that might be why had to get you outside ourselves. No, I think your hiding something from us."
Hlethiuk digs his claw in a wee bit more, for emphasis.
C'mon, so close! Say something!

"Even if I did know about some door to heaven, which I don't I wouldn't tell a spiteful little bugger like you. Now unhand me!" He spits in Hlethuks face, which already has puke on it. Behind you, Celine stumbles out of the tavern, clearly drunk and giggling. She falls face down in the street.

Hlethiuk looks disgusted as the man spits on him, but he's pleased, because he knows he it making Elliot angry.
"Ah, now we're getting somewhere. I mention a door, and you think 'door to heaven'. No, I suppose you don't have to tell me about this door, but then again, I suppose I don't have to kill you, either. Is this that important to you?"

He flashes a cold humorless grin. "Kill me then, vermin. After the things I have done, I no longer care if I live. But I repeat, there is no door to heaven."

Shaking himself from his stupor, Svendran steps forward, "My green (sorry for assuming again) compatriot makes a good point. He said nothing about a 'door to heaven'. SO would you mind explaining what that tattoo is behind your ear?"

Shagga whistles for his wolf. As it comes to him, Shagga says to the man, "We are not here to answer your questions. Tell us what we want to know, and be on your way. You are not the only one with this information. There are others, and we can find them. You said you were ready to die. Fine, my wolf is hungry. Talk, and I'll call him off."

Shagga motion for his wolf to attack the man.

It will trip him the first round with it's attack, and then continue the attack on the ground. If the man starts to speak, Shagga will call the wolf off.

The cultist screams and tries unsuccessfully to fend the wolf off. "I'LL TELL YOU ANYTHING! GET THIS DAMN ANIMAL OFF ME!" Perhaps when he said he was ready to die, he didn't think it would mean being torn apart by a wolf. You hear a loud scream behind you and Celine runs over to you. What are you doing?! "Call that thing off!"

Kayleen

Just another face in the busy mass of the bar, Kayleen ponders where fate will send her next. Driven from her beloved woods by those damned Orcs she used to call her friends, she finds herself in a strange city surrounded by strange people. She has no problems with the rougher races, but it heavies her heart when she can no longer look upon her fellow tribesmen. The buildings, the paved streets, the people everywhere -- she wants nothing more than the trees over her head, the dirt under her toes, and the peace of a meal shared with family.

Still, in her heart of hearts, she believes that there is some reason she finds herself in the lonely crowd. Her focuses her senses, trying to hear something above the petty din and confusion of the bar, trying to think of where she is supposed to next. Like a prayer answered from above, she hears the screaming of a man, then a woman, outside. Surprised that no one else reacted to them, she picks up her sole possession -- a beautiful, if slightly used, greatsword. She rushes outside to see what the commotion is about.

Sword in hand (though pointed at the ground), the redheaded woman takes in the scene at hand. She speaks loudly, but with a calm tone: "What crime has the man done that a creature of the forest would attack him?"

When the man cries out Shagga commands the wolf to back down. He looks at the man sternly and says, "I think we understand each other now. Please, Elliot, tell us what we want to know. Tell us all about this door to heaven. Feel free to start with why those associated it would kidnap a small child."

Shagga places a large emphysis on the part about kidanpping a child so that the newcomers would understand what is going on without him having to take his concentration off of Elliot.

"For years we sought to open the Door To Heaven, but we never could. We searched through countless ancient tomes, and called upon horrible ancient gods whose names are best left forgotten, but the Door always eluded us." "Shut up!" Celine yells. "I don't care about any damned doors or gods. I just want my nephew back!" Elliot looks up at Svendren."If you could tell your prostitute to shut up for one moment," "Prostitute?!" He cuts her off with a glare. "I was getting to that." He clears his throaght. "After we had exhausted many methods, we turned to sacrifice. First we would use animals, but that failed just as every thing else had. Then we began kidnapping young men and women late at night." He shudders. "It was my idea to try that. It has haunted my dreams ever since. I soon abandoned the cult, and do not know what they are doing now. But it would seem that they have turned to sacrifing children. I have heard of the kidnappings. I prayed that their deaths would not be on my hands. It seems now, that I have caused death to even more innocents, all in the name of heaven" He practically spits that word out. "I fear that I shall never arrive there now."

Unfazed by being ignored, she creeps up closer to the group. The word 'heaven' attracted her as well as the idea of ritual sacrifice. "It seems that the attack was deserved."

Hlethiuk approches the elfand draws himself up to his full 2-foot 3-inch height.
"Well, nobody asked you, so It'd be appriciated if you could keep your nose out of our buisiness!"

Shagga continues to concentrate on Elliot, unwilling to divert his attention elsewhere. "You say you are sorry, then help us put an end to it. Permenatly. Where can we find this cult? If you can't tell us that, at least give us some names of those you know to be associated with it now, or even in the past."

"As for names, I cannot render assistance. Nor can I give you the exact location. I am no longer a member of the order, but I am still bound to its laws. I can tell you that it is located in the sewers under the soutern part of the city, however." Upon noticing Kayleen, he says, "What's this? Another prostitute? You three have very odd taste."

Kayleen takes the prostitute comment with surprising composure although the grip on her sword produces an audible crack as it tightens around the hilt of her sword.

To the kobold, she stares back at him with an icy glare. "And what business would that be?"

Elliot stands up. "Am I free to go now?" He grabs Celine forcibly by the wrist and begins to drag her along with him. When she resists, he says, "Don't worry, I'm gonna give you the money when I'm all done, okay?" He says to you, "This one don't have much business sense, does she?" She punches him hard in the face, but it seems to have no effect. "Ah, one of these women! This will be even more fun than I thought!" He picks her up and slings her over his shoulder. He seems a lot stronger than his body seems. He walks around the corner still carrying her.

Hlethiuk ignores the man as he leaves, and says to Kayleen,
"Again, our business. If you'll excuse us, we have somewhere to go."

"Fine, lizard. Go deal with your business. It seems mine is going that way." She moves past the kobold ((if he allows her)) and chases after Elliot.

"I suggest you put her down," she calls out to them.

"Why? I'm payin her ain't I? She chose this profession not me." Celine tries to kick him but can't because of the angle.

"I don't think she wants your money."

Hlethiuk obviously takes offense at being called 'lizard'.

"Lizard?! Arg!"

He takes a quick step and leaps at Kayleen.
