Hlethuk tries to tackle Kayleen with his imposing 2' 3" form, but simply falls off. Elliot clearly still drunk puts down Celine, who kicks him in the shin and runs over to where Svendren is. "I suppose your charges are lower then. I've seen some competitive hookers but I've never had one draw a sword on me!"

To Elliot, she says, "Go somewhere else before I cut off your head -- and I don't mean the one sitting on your shoulders." She turns away from him and says to the woman, "Are you hurt?"

Celine shakes her hand. "His skin felt like it was made of rock. This may very well be the worst day of my life."

"Then let me make it better. I do not know what deal you have made with this group, but let me help you find your nephew. Unlike this lot, I can get along in this city without the anger and prejudice they will surely get. And this weapon," she sheathes her greatsword, "is more than decoration."

She places a friendly hand on her shoulder. "I know the pain of losing family. I wish to ease your pain somehow."

Shagga had been watching the newcomer, sizing her up, and seeing how she would respond to Elliot and Hlethuk. Shagga gave a small smile of satisfaction when she saw Kayleen ignore the nuscience and focus on the real evil.

"We had no deal with the woman. We saved her from some men, and her plight coincided with our interest in the cult. We seek these people so that we might root them out and end thier vile pratices. If you wish to join us, I'm sure your sword would be beneficial."

"I think we should go find those sewers. If that drunken bastard is right, then children are going to die." Elliot is laying face down in the street in a puddle of vomit.

Shaking himself, Svendran replies, "I'm Svendran Heimdall, like my associate says, we're merely helping this woman out of circumstance. And the more allies we have the better. Shall we proceed?"

"And I am Kayleen. I would be glad to come with you, if you will have me." She eyes the kobold, who seems to have some sort of deep-seated enmity for humans -- or perhaps women.

She walks over to Elliot and kicks him over so that he won't choke on his own vomit. "Let us hurry to these sewers."

Celine starts going going south. It is a long way way to that part of the city, and to speed things up you all jump in a cart passing by. When you finally arrive, the sun is completely gone and it is beginning to rain. Celine takes you to some stairs leading into the ground. "That leads to the sewers." She wrinkles her nose at the smell. "Can't say I envy you."

"Smells worse than a three day old kill..." She leads the group down the stairs, sword in hand.

"Can anyone give me a light?"

I know -- I read his background. I was hoping for a bit of animosity. Just biding my time before Kayleen hits her breaking point and strikes back.

Shagga mutters something softly and touches the warrior's sword. As he does so, the sword begins to shine brightly. "We should be quick. This won't last that long." He then draws out his scimitar and readies his shield. His wolf heels next to him and follows his movements.

You leave Celine out on the street and enter the sewers. The darkness closes in around you as what little light there was from the surface disappears. Rats are everywhere, and the smell! The dried vomit covering Hlethiuk is nothing compared to the horrible stench of a city's worth of human waste. You are walking through knee deep water, at least you hope it's water. The passage you are in strectches farter than you can see.

Everyone but Kayleen and the wolf can see with darkvision. Roll fortitude saves to keep from being sickened.

"Ugh, I can't believe I'm doing this..." Hlethiuk gives an angry snarle at human, as if this were somehow her fault.

Svendran sighs and mutters something about the disadvantages to water fights before descending. If possible he'll try to find a higher pathway.

Everyone but Kayleen is able to withstand the stench. Kayleen doubles over and tries not to throw up. As you continue, you come to a fork in the passage. The way to the left splits off int 3 paths, and the right keeps going straight.

He stops abruply as he sees a long, thick tail by the water.

Hletiuk's arrow skeweris the creature, and it sinks to the the bottom of the horrid fluid you are standing in.

Noticing the tail at almost the same time as the kobold, Svendran reacts slower, barely unsheathing his sword before his compatriot drops it with a well placed arrow. Sword still drawn, Svendran waits for a minute, to be sure of the thing's death, before trying to fish it out.
