Prequel works fine. I hadn't realized that Coidzor had already done a Redemption fic with Fred. But a bit of ret-conning will fix it. We can just set it as a prequel and have Fred distinguish himself in battle and raise up a few ranks and eventually acquire an axe over a lowly spear.

I was mainly listening to my records of Civil War songs and Grafted into the Army came on... and it made me think that it would work well with Redemption.

Another good song that could be re-tooled is called Take Your Gun and Go, John.

@Nil - That's exactly what I was going for. Instead of saying that he would still back Nil, or betray him to help Mordokai, I'm leaving it open. Can't wait to see who takes up the mantle next so I can find out.

@Twobi - always fun to see someone new getting a role and exploring their character. Even though he'd already been forced recruited into our tale, it's nice to see some background so we have an idea of who he is and what motivates him.

Not at all. It does work pretty well, whether brother in this sense is literal or a form of address in an organization. Either or both would be appropriate.

I was thinking the same thing. I wasn't sure if I meant fraternal brothers or not. I think it would work just as well in any context.

Well, besides his little... encounters with Turle, I wouldn't say he really enjoyed anything so far. He wasn't excatly opposed, granted, but he didn't enjoyed it per se.

I could try to explain the physical pain he went through.
I could attempt to display his heart as its already broken pieces were slowly shredded into fine particles.
I could endeavor to show the complete and utter sadistic pleasure Mordokai got from doing this.
But I would fail.

Of course, that could have just been a face he put on in front of Reinholdt. *shrugs*
