"Well, then, I will call at Trog's if I learn anything," Quinn says, already planning to root out whoever these 'informers' are. "And you are welcome. Good day."

"Farewell, and thanks once again." Alexander says with bows and then leaves glog again.

[The Bushranger]

[Infirmary]

And Quinn sighs as Alexander leaves.
"Geez, guy gives me the creeps."

[Recaiden]

[Tree]

"You're a fool, a disgrace to cats. 'It' is as nothing before the truth of the holiday. The past has power."
Cleo starts singing Christmas carols at the top of her lungs.

"I'd love to, Mikani!" She looks at the wand and smirks.

[Reinholdt]

[Tree]

Ooh! Christmas Carols!
Butler sings in too.
His favorite is Jingle Bells because it reminds him of his collar.

[Infirmary]

"What was that all about anyways? What wolf idol? Or you going to say you don't actually know anything after all?"
Reinholdt's not sure he believes her.
What with being Tobias' wife after all.
And having an affair with Tony.

Mikani grins broadly, and adopts a fighting pose.

"Well, then, throw something at me! Anything will do," she challenges.

"I think he might be referring to the idol Nancy had..." Quinn explains with a sigh, leaning against the wall and crossing her arms.

((Dinnertime))

[Reinholdt]

[Infirmary]

"Oh. Nancy would be...?"
Don't leave Reinholdt hanging! Just tell him the entire story! He's just going to ask questions and prod until he gets it anyways.

Chezchire runs away from the accursed carollers and dives behind the nearest building, vanishing.

Anchor grins and throws her staff at Mikani like a javelin.

"Oh. Nancy would be...?"
Don't leave Reinholdt hanging! Just tell him the entire story! He's just going to ask questions and prod until he gets it anyways.

"Oh, right, you weren't here. Nancy was the young woman Darcy and Zanny - the other two folks Mr. Congenaility there described - brought in to have a Far beastie kicked out of her head."

Anchor grins and throws her staff at Mikani like a javelin.

Mikani brings up her wand with a flourish, as if to parry the incoming staff -
- and there's a flash of green light (that in no way makes the wand, for an instant, appear like a lightsabre) that deflects the stavelin nicely.
"See? It's wicked cool! It only works defensively, too."

[Reinholdt]

[Infirmary]


Prod prod prod prod prod the Paladin!
"Oh, right, you weren't here. Nancy was the young woman Darcy and Zanny - the other two folks Mr. Congenaility there described - brought in to have a Far beastie kicked out of her head."

That's not the whole story!
"Oh. So why don't we give back the idol then?"

Butler will sing carols for as long as Cleo sings them.

No, of course not.
"A couple of reasons. One, I have only his say-so that it's actually his, and not Nancy's by right. Second, even if it is technically his, there could be a reason she had it, and I woudn't decide who should have it without hearing both sides of the issue.

"And third - would you trust that guy with a potentially dangerous magic totem?"

[Reinholdt]

[Infirmary]

"Potentially dangerous magic totem? What do you mean? Need me to take a look at it?" Reinholdt has all sorts of magic item experience!

[The Bushranger]

[Infirmary]

"Nancy said something about it being enchanted," Quinn says, as she leads the way to Potentially Dangerous Magic Item Storage.

Namely, one of these, buried in the wall behind a painting.

"I guess you can take a look at it, if you want."

[Reinholdt]

[Infirmary]

"Might as well. Maybe I'll be able to tell you something useful." What could it hurt?

[Infirmary]

And so Quinn opens the safe, and - using tongs - retrieves the idol!

"Better put on gloves," she warns, before going to hand it to the Treasure Hunter Extrordinaire.

[Shadowcaller]

[Infirmary]

The idol is made of a obsidian-colored material and looks like a snarling wolf-mother with two blue eyes that appears to be made out of gemstones. It's rather masterful workmanship and looks very realistic, almost like the miniature wolf would leap out and bite him.

[Reinholdt]

[Infirmary]

"Seriously?" Reinholdt waves around his two bandaged paws before taking the idol.
He examines it closely, turning it in all manner of directions.
He checks to see if the gemstones can be removed or not. By trying it out on one of them of course.

Meanwhile...
Butler rushes in at this very moment with an Avatar in his arms!
"Quinn ma'am! I need your help ma'am! Dyna has the psychics ma'am!"

[Shadowcaller]

[Infirmary]

The gemstones are firmly stuck into the statues eye-sockets and can't be removed with bare hands.

But as Reinholdt holds it a while, he can tell there is coming warmth from it. In fact, he can hear something that almost sounds like a heartbeat coming from the statue. And then he can feel it beating in his hand, like the statue was a heart slowly beating away.

It's likely magical in some way.

Quinn is about to say something to Reinholdt, when -

A WILD BUTLER appeared!

WILD BUTLER used CONFUSE on QUINN!

It's SUPER EFFECTIVE!

"Wait wait wait, who has what, I thought Dyna was Zee now again?" she asks. Confused.

[Reinholdt]

[Infirmary]

Clearly.
Reinholdt takes his ear and puts it up to the totem to try and listen closer to what appears to be the heartbeat. Maybe it was one of those figurines that turn into animals to do as you command when you used it?

Butler shakes his head no! And raises his hands up to show Avatar to Quinn!
"I don't know about Zee, but Dyna here needs help ma'am! You can hear his thoughts ma'am!"

[Shadowcaller]

[Infirmary]

It does indeed sound like a heartbeat and and this point he can also feel energy streaming from it like a waterfall. This is a very powerful artifact, but it's purpose might be hard to guess.

Indeed. Very odd.
Reinholdt tries tapping on its forehead a bit. And then talking to it. In a whisper of course, cause it's a bit silly.
"Hello?"

[Infirmary]

"Well, then, put...him...up on the medbed..."
And it's at this point that it registers Butler is holding Chibi!Avatar.
"...are you sure he's not supposed to be doing that though Butler?"

"Well, it is," Mikani points out, perhaps just a little heatedly. "It means you can't accidentally hurt your friends by using it."

[Shadowcaller]

[Infirmary]

The heart continues to beat as Reinholdt suddenly hear a deep snarl coming from the idol like a huge wolf was standing right next to him.

[Rebonack]

[Infirmary!]

"I use thoughts to make talks sometimes!" Avatar announces in that cute lil' voice of his as soon as he gets plopped on a bed. "Friend Butler thinks that is full of bad! But I am not being sure..."

One can imagine why.

He does it all the time!

He sounds pretty confused too.

Maybe not as confused as Quinn, but confused none the less.

...

So now what?

[Infirmary]

"Errr....Avatar? Why do you sound funny?"

That's what!

[Reinholdt]

[Infirmary]

Reinholdt gulps a little and looks back to see if there's now a wolf behind him or not. "Now now... let's be friends..."

Butler puts him on the medbed!
"He talks with his brain ma'am! You're supposed to talk with your mouth ma'am! And the Physics is very dangerous ma'am! He could die if he doesn't get treated ma'am!" Butler is clearly distraught.

"I do not like making talks with my mouth," Avatar explains. "It makes my insides itchy! But when I make other talks Flatlanders get confused and sleepy!"

And insane.

"So I make mouth talks without liking it! For am I make friends confused and sleepy otherwise!"

Then a question about sounding funny!

"I sound funny for am I small! Smallness makes mouth talks sound very squeaky! Mouth talks are being less squeaky when I am large. But I am not large for am being large makes people scared!"
