A very foul tempered Ion stomps through the streets, keeping an eye out for potential attackers. His definition for potention attackers being "anyone at all". I do not believe that is all there is to it, for the record. He says to the being he hosts.

Oddball starts releasing a scent which should make the ariadoses easier to hit with other moves. I don't recall whether poison-type gives any defensive bonuses against grass-type, though since bug-type does it doesn't matter much, although because Oddball only knows two moves it is quite important.

Three human-looking chaps are looking around; they're wearing chainmail, though they left their spears and shields in the cart. One looks very interested in a sabre, another examines a rack of rifles and the third is smiling at Ryuan's selection. At least, I think Ryuan is the name of the chap who supplied them.

The Howitzer, I've used only twice, and I barely remember how to plant these things. Percival gestures at the landmines next to his demonic minion.

He puts the MG 42 on the counter and sets a hand on it. His tone turns a little fond. As for this? That's about right. This was always a favorite of mine. Very reliable, and very destructive.

"Always good traits in a weapon, and being familiar with your weapon is always a good thing as well," Aeryn confirms as she rings up the order...

Thank you, ma'am. Percival says, once it's all rung up. He gestures for the aranea to step forward, and presumably they've brought enough gold along to pay for the whole shebang. I might be in need of some more, in the future. Your selection is impressive.

He turns to let the aranea buy what they wish.

The giant Bellan is creeping around here, plodding through the streets quietly and looking for trouble.

Not exactly trouble, but he might run across Tia or Andrew Eiranikos, two normal humans who are collecting orphans for nefarious purposes to take them to the new orphanage and get them off the streets.

Uh oh. Rose has decided to feed in the slums tonight. At the moment she's just strolling down the street, looking for an ideal target.

"I do my best to have whatever might be desired in stock, or at least on order," Aeryn says proudly.

Bellan is certainly a large target, though I don't know about ideal. Given, y'know, alien.

In any case, it's all too likely that Bellan ends up helping homeless people too. Handing out small amounts of money or food. It's possible he'll run into Tia and Andrew at some point.

Percival smiles appreciatively, smiling beneath his gas mask, and will likely leave with his new weapons if the aranea are ready to go.

A kind-looking old lady is here, wearing a floral dress, a pink wool cardigan and a red beret. She has a handbag on her arm, pushed up to her shoulder, and she's carrying a spiked flail in her hands. She's looking for criminals committing crimes, as Mrs. Bloodplunder gets bored and doesn't like most of her agegroup.

Tia is on her hands and knees, peering into the crawl space under an old building. "It's okay, Luke. I wouldn't take you to a bad place."

"The shelters were scary. I didn't like them." a small voice calls back at her.

"This is nicer than the shelters. It's not as crowded, and there will be more kids there than grownups."

"Will you be there, Miss Tia?"

"Yes, I'll be there, every night, to tell stories."

Any of the above might run across this scene.

"And I'm assuming they're not the friendly sort?" Mikani asks, a twinge of nervousness in her voice.

Pausing to swallow and calm herself, a thought occurs to her.
"...can they be tamed? Or...calmed, at least?"

The ariadoses keep their distance, wary of more light being shot at them. "Jamie. Shoot some more of that light straight up. Quick."

Poison resists bug, but grass is weak to it. They cancel each other out.

Streets

Rose lurks in an alley, just hidden away from any light, and waits for Mrs. Bloodplunder to pass. There's a hungry glint in her eyes as she eyes what she thinks to be an easy target.

Oddball continues releasing his Sweet Scent, hopefully reducing the Ariadoses ability to dodge.

Erin's Emporium

One of the aranea in human shape will buy the sabre, another will buy a high-power hunting rifle. The third takes two boxes of grenades, since they seem quite easy to use. Do they get a free staff weapon?

Slums

Mrs. Bloodplunder seems to be unaware of the lurking vampire; she's looking for more obvious criminals- murders, fights, muggings, assaults etc. Therefore she walks right past Rose without noticing her.

As soon as Mrs Bloodplunder passes, Rose makes her move. She runs swiftly behind the woman and lunges at her. Hopefully She heard Rose's hasty footsteps.

Indeed she did hear Rose's footsteps, and whirls around swinging her flail. It's a perfectly normal flail, but swung with lots of skill and lots of force. It might not be able to kill Rose, but that doesn't mean it won't hurt.

Rose wasn't expecting Mrs Bloodplunder to be able to react, much less swing that flail. She's hit full on and is knocked off to the side. The vampire hits the ground hard. She recovers quickly however, and is on her feet quickly. "Got some fight in you, huh? Makes it more fun."

"BLOOOODPLUUUNDEEEER!" Mrs. Bloodplunder's eyes have gone red, and she moves faster than an elderly lady should, swinging her flail at Rose's head. She's not as young as she was, though, so the swing is slower than it used to be and is still perfectly dodge-able.

Seems her old barbarian instincts have kicked in with a berserk rage.

Fferrir pauses for a second in his walk through Inside, and listens. Sounds like a battle. Were it possible for his mask to express emotion, it would be grinning right now, because win or lose, hurting someone would certainly be a good way to burn off some anger.

He turns and strides towards the battle, footsteps surprisingly light and quiet despite how heavy he is. Furthermore, due to his skin being far thicker and denser than a normal human's, it is highly unlikely any vampire could smell his blood, so he might be able to sneak up upon the combatants.

Before he gets to the fight, Fferrir (srsly, what's with the superfluous letters? ) might run into Shae. Or be run into. Because Shae is running down the street flailing right in Fferrir's direction.

The extra letters stop my spellcheck program from trying to turn his name in Ferarri. Oh, and the second F is pronounced as a V. He has a weird accent. But mainly the spellcheck thing.

Fferrir, caught up in his excitement at the prospect of murdering the **** out of someone, doesn't notice Shae until be literally runs into him, the impact forcing the metallic man back a step and knocking the wind out of him. My apologies. It was my fault for being unaware of my surroundings. Do you need help? He says, and if Shae has fallen down he will try to help the fae back to his feet.

Rose back steps, but still manages to get clipped in the side of the head. She staggers, blood getting in her eyes. That's what you get for underestimating her, Rose.

"That mortal wants to kill me!" Shae exclaims, pointing back the way he came. There are some people poking heads out of doors to see who the nutter was screaming as he was running down the street, but nobody obviously appears to be in pursuit.

Shae is, as usual, wearing a dress. What is not usual is that his hair and clothing are in disarray, and he has lipstick smears on his face.

Shae is a he, but he looks like a she, what with the androgynous features and the women's clothing. His emotional state is rather 'Oh ****, that mortal wants to kill me!'

Given the evidence he is presented with, Fferrir immediately makes a guess as to what Shae's profession is. And disapproves. I see no "mortal" in pursuit. Describe him, or provide evidence that he exists, much less continues to be a threat to you. He asks, impatient to hurt someone, anyone. Just because he's honorable doesn't mean he's nice. At all.
