Maple Cabin Outside

Zero eventually wakes up and stumbles to Maple Cabin to rest. If anyone sees him he is sweating and as he walks he starts to shake.

Demon Queen let's her momentum carry her as she leans back. Zero's fist catches her chin, but doesn't do as much as he would've liked.

As she falls back, she swings her arms, hoping to catch him and toss him behind her.

I never got around to telling you my full name, did I? I am The Demon Queen Who Moves All Through The Extension Of Her Will. And buddy, you're gonna regret fighting me.

Demon Queen's appearance is slowly changing. Her skin is becoming darker. In fact, it's starting to look more like her leather jacket.

Zero moves backwards before Demon Queen can catch him.

You might want to change that name to The Demon Queen Who Moves All Except Zero Through The Extension Of Her Will.

Heh. We'll see. Battle ain't over yet. She's standing a little hunched over now, and her fingers seem to be getting longer. And clawed.

If Dani were here, she could tell Zero that the demon bound to Demon Queen is starting to take over. But, she isn't here.

Demon Queen dashes forward again. She moves as if she's gonna punch. But, the impact will hit before fist. She's channeling some energy to a spot about four inches in front of her fist, which will make it feel like the punch has connected before it actually does.

Sophie glares daggers at Tobias as he departs. What an arrogant miscreant.
I don't think I'm going to have any futher questions, Mr. Empty. Your case is complicated, but it seems you're at least somewhat interested in the welfare of others, which is promising. One thing I'd like to know is how could you help those in need? I'll keep that in mind for when I talk to someone who needs it.

Reelshka can be found by Jazirian in the Main Cabin as well.

Sarah and Orich are looking for Reelshka! Naturally, the pair want to help out.

Medical Labs

Dr. Rein is looking to provide his services to the facility. Since Tobias built it, the Doctor assumes he's in charge and searches for the druid.

The Doctor can find Tobias inside an office room, doing what appears to be paperwork.

The Doctor will likely give a knock before entry, and if permitted, he'll step inside. Last Toby saw him, Rein was normally about as glowery as the folks at Watchtower. Now, he seems perfectly pleasant, though he doesn't feel the need to smile outright.

"Afternoon, Mr. Druid. I heard you could use teachers here?"

Yes! Toby jumps up and grins. Right now, I plan on personally teaching courses on healing, forensic pathology, and epidemiology. But the more doctors with a wider array of specialties, the better.

Valaira slinks back to GLoG covered in a thin film of still moist (not to mention tepid) blood. Her clothes must have absorbed a few pints of the warm vitae and her hair appears to have been saturated in the fluid.

Her scent is that of iron.

Those are most definitely not good signs. Not good at all!

What might be most alarming is that she seems satisfied with something. The general atmosphere about her drips with a horrendous blend of fulfillment and fear.

Fear of what? Fear of another being? Fear of a god? Fear of herself?

The way Valaira traverses the landscape between the treeline and Maple Cabin proves that she has performed a feat that required intense physical exertion, as she is obviously spent both physically and mentally.

Her previously slim figure also seems to have filled out a considerable bit.

What has she been up to?

If nobody accosts her, she will set her hand on the doorknob leading inside of Maple Cabin before withdrawing it as if the knob was blistering hot.

Her features have changed. They always do for a short stint after such an event. Her eyes are of an otherworldly hue of crimson; her serrated teeth have not returned to their human state.

She has taken part in (and likely initiated) a scuffle, as evidenced by the deep gash running down the length of her arm. She was maimed, but she really doesn't care.

By the looks of it, things went much worse for the other guy.

"Is this going to be a legitimate medical school, or is it just some improvised courses to help educate... well, anyone, I suppose."

When Valaria walks in, she might see Zero slumped against the wall, barely awake.

He wonders if he'll get one of his own, considering the last is probably melted into some black sludge. "Is this going to be a legitimate medical school, or is it just some improvised courses to help educate... well, anyone, I suppose."

Huh, so there will be some overlap. Cool. Really, Toby's knowledge of epidemiology just focuses on how to infect a population with a disease, but he can teach prevention and reaction techniques. If you think we can do a legitimate school, we can try. Otherwise, I just thought we could come up with some stuff to teach whomever walks in.

Lisor eventually starts getting better, but progress is nothing exceptional. She's never had much need for being a fighter in her life, since where she's from goblin women don't commonly become warriors. Still, she's a remarkably intelligent individual, and will pull of a few things that may surprise the exalt, despite not having much effect due to lack of strength behind them.

Indeed, and Lisor actually manages to connect with Shrike a few times - which does, indeed, surprise the Exalt.

After awhile, though, Shrike does wave off the exercise, not wanting to overexert her new pupil.

Valaira cautiously places her hand on the door knob and silently twists. She opens the door very, very slowly, more than a little terrified of how Zero will react when he finds out that his girlfriend may have sort of...may have kind of...might maybe have sort of kind of possibly consumed something that could have been a little bit (I said could have been) human...

These disquieting concerns are promptly flung aside when Valaira's sparkling crimson eyes come to rest on the pitiful Zero.

Valaira feels true fear for the second time.

Without further adieu, Valaira rushes to Zero's side and attempts to hug him tightly against her,

"What happened to you, Zero?"

"Perhaps some lectures. It'll certainly be good working with doctors again." The Doctor gives a smile, crossing his arms amiably. Adrian has another look around. "Probably just the latter. I don't really think I'm up to university-level courses. Especially with Sarah to take care of."

I used too much energy at once. It's not very healthy.

Zero says, still not quite aware of what's going on. The powers he used are dangerous if he doesn't get rid of what restrains his powers.

Valaira attempts to rest a hand on Zero's head for a moment. If she is successful, she will attempt to shoot a surge of refreshing healing energy through Zero's body while scanning him for any potential health risks.

She will also probably smear blood all over him.

Eeeewwww!

Toby takes the other man out of the office and shows him a few, slightly smaller, empty offices nearby. Next up is a operating theater/autopsy room. Connected to that is a refrigerated room with those sliding racks for cadavers that you see in morgues. There is a normal lab filled with fancy equipment for all sorts of medical tests right across the hallway. Next Toby leads him through an airlock, which has protective suits and a decontamination shower, and into a hot lab.
You'll love this room. It has a Biosafety level of 5, which is like a 4, but it has all sorts of magical wards and security measures to deal with magical diseases. You probably worked with a lot of the equipment here before, so you might be more familiar with it than I am. But you can do all the studying and work you want with infectious diseases there. We even have a secure locker in back, I'm the only one with access to it at the moment, to store any diseases and viruses.

As the training comes to a close, Shrike - no longer distracted - frowns, and looks around with a pointed expression on her face...

Jamie scrambles to her feet, tossing a final rock at the lake.
"Feel like sparring?"

Maple Cabin

Zero has quite a few health risks, if he was a machine, someone might say that he wasn't built very well. The healing energy works and he starts to wake up a bit more.

Outside

Zero disappears into blue sparks and then reappears next to Demon Queen. He will then use a small blast of energy to try to trip Demon Queen so that he can get a trap ready.
