Well this is awkward superdark33, hopefully this situation doesn't ruin the game.

Re: Assassins V: The Rings of Power
This, this and more this.
I mean, yeah, sure, superdark, whatever, but what the...
No, see, this here which you're doing is not any form of justice. This is you indulging your need to soothe your conscience by screwing up another game and a team of players. Sure, you're paying in that you're being removed from the game, but you're making your team pay with you, and why should they have to? This not only ensures your lynch here, but if other players feel at all like me on the matter, also in numerous other games, since how do they know you won't decide to throw your life away to make yourself feel better about something else? Congratulations, you're a target!
Obviously I don't know the precise situation here, and I confess myself rather confused by your statement that you died before you cheated, but if you have an issue of guilt with a game, take it up with that game, and that narrator. Don't drag it into someone else's game and screw that up as well."'But there's still such a lot to be done...'

Re: Assassins V: The Rings of Power
Well... This is an odd thing to come back to...
So, yeah, lynch the guy claiming assassin. super dark33.
But Thufir has a point. Don't we have rules, or at least guidelines, regarding cheating anyway? And the whole thing is incomprehensible to anyone who isn't (or wasn't) playing Medieval WW.
And speaking of rules, isn't there something about not using events in one game to influence your behaviour in another (with the exception of "somebody did the same thing in a previous game as they're doing now, and they were a wolf", and other such things)?Last edited by Tasroth; 2012-02-05 at 06:47 PM.
What do you mean "Dungeon Master" isn't a proper job?

Re: Assassins V: The Rings of Power
Assassins V: The Rings of Power.
Day 6
Matthias was being hauled toward the dungeons to face interrogation. He was being accused of being one of the Assassins. It's not me, I tell you! I'm innocent! Listen, they have no proof against me! You have to....
Never fear, citizen! I, Super Dark, am here to save you! A figure dressed all in black, except for his red flapping cape, appeared on the roof top, fists on his hips. Unhand him, you fieURK!!
As he'd leapt down, his cape had gotten caught, and he was now hanging there, inches from the ground. He tried to untie himself from his cape, but he'd used a double not to make sure the darn thing stayed on this time.
The guards, just laughed, and continued on their way. The figured he'd get out of it one way or another. Besides, it wasn't their problem.
But one person didn't see it the same way they did. He'd been helping the crowd lynch one person after another. Only one time had their intended victim escape, and that was because he was that victim.
Hamett the Bloodthirsty, they'd called him. And now he had himself the perfect punching bag to take his aggressions out on. Super Dark, the would-be hero, tried to croak out for help. He struggled desperately against the knot holding him securely off the ground.
But he did not escape, and could not call for help, as Hamett the Bloodthirsty beat him to death. By the time the guards returned to see if Matthias' Hero still needed help, they found nothing but a bloodied body, hanging from a rope. The cape had eventually torn free, so the murderer had to re-hang him with a rope.
They cut the body down, and turned him over to the undertaker.
SpoilerThe would-be hero, Super Dark, was beaten to death. He was a Royal Guard.
SpoilerElder Tsofu murdered Super Dark, and was never seen again, in this game. He was Hamett the Bloodthirsty.
SpoilerHamett the Bloodthirsty's win condition:
SpoilerYou are Hamett the Bloodthirsty, the Neutral Role. You abhor all life, and so you wish to harm everyone.
You win if you help lynch at least five other players, Royal or Assassin, before you are lynched yourself.
You do not count toward the Royals or Assassins win conditions.
SpoilerAnd for those of you curious about Flash Rogers win condition:
SpoilerYou are Flash Rogers the Hero, the Neutral.
You are a nut-case. You believe that you are the hero of this tale, and that it is your duty to save the innocents.
At night, you can "save" a player (with a two night CoolDown). Anyone you "save" is temporarily removed from the game, until either you have "saved" three DiD, you are killed, or the game is ended.
Until then, neither they, nor you, count toward the Royals nor the Assassins win condfitions.

Re: Assassins V: The Rings of Power
Urrr... okay, well, I'll say two things...
1. Yeah, I thought he wasn't an assassin, just because claiming anything else wouldn't have gotten him killed...>.>
2. I think it was actually a little mature of him to do something, he may not have done the right thing, but to do something. A lot better than doing nothing.

Re: Assassins V: The Rings of Power
Assassins V: The Rings of Power.
Night 6
In the middle of the night, the citizens of the south-eastern community were awoken by a loud cackling laughter. At first they just laid back down, and tried to ignore it. How long could someone keep up that noise anyhow?
After about thirty minutes of this non-stop racket, the men and women of the area began to emerge onto the streets. They grumbled amongst themselves, trying to discover from which direction the hideous laughter was coming. But an echo made it hard to figure out.
So they began a house to house search, forcing their way inside homes who's occupants were either deep sleepers, or were too afraid to venture out in the night. There were many of those.
Throughout the search, the mad laughter continued, and worse of all, it seemed to be infectious. At first the newly infected would chuckle, then giggle, then have boughts of belly-laughter, and then finally, they'd fling themselves down, and begin laughing right along with the first.
One of the women sent her son to fetch the guard. They were going to need help, if they were going to find the symptom of this plague of laughter. But the guard seemed to be more suseptible than the residents. It seemed the thugs in uniform fell to it the quickest.
Desperately, they searched for the one who started this hellish noise, and then suddenly it stopped. Not just the first, but all the victims after seemed to stop all at once.
While those who laughed the longest and hardest were taken to the city hospital for treatment, those still healthy continued the search. After another thirty minutes, they found what most likely the first victim. A guard named Mordokai was found at his post, curled up in a ball. The most obvious sign that he was the originator was his smiled. He died with a maniacal smile that ripped nearly ear to ear.
SpoilerMordokai died with a smile on his face. He was a Royal Guard.

Re: Assassins V: The Rings of Power
Yes, but the intent is what counts... he wanted to redeem himself, and he did something about it, which is better than just deciding that what you did wasn't worth doing anything about. The fact that he actually did do something holds some respect in my eyes, the fact that he should have asked lex to drop out of the game rather than what he did is a side issue.
In short, he did something wrong and decided he had to pay for what he did, that decision alone isn't really an easy one. Now I'm not saying he didn't do anything wrong, what I'm saying is that this way he's probably never going to do that again... so the fact that your doing unconstructive criticism isn't helping the situation... Just remember, it's the thought that counts.

Re: Assassins V: The Rings of Power
Just wanted to say that you sound like some mom trying to comfort her son who after killing someone's cat with his bicycle, gets caught stealing someone else's cat to replace the one he (perhaps accidentally) killed.
I, and perhaps others, am/are taking the role of the annoyed person living on the other side of town who's cat got stolen and is now standing outside the door.
Sometimes action is worse than inaction. Quite often really when you consider the amount of actions which can make a bad situation even worse.
But I'm not supposed to be seen in this game any more so I'll let this be my last post before the end of it.

Re: Assassins V: The Rings of Power
The road to hell is paved with good intentions... I would have preferred him doing nothing and that funny business staying out of this game, since I couldn't care less about what happened in Medieval WW. While this will most likely not break the game or cost anyone the victory, it was an unnecessary - and, frankly, unwelcome - interruption of game flow.
At least the assassins made good use of their night action and silenced Mordokai.
Now, let's test this alleged seer-wagon. Tasroth. Not if my index finger has anything to say about it. And, as it turned out, it had quite the stirring dissertation prepared on that very subject.
Many thanks to half-halfling for the Spanish Inquisition avatar

Re: Assassins V: The Rings of Power
I don't think a self-inflicted punishment makes him any less likely to repeat his actions. It indicates that he probably won't, but he should be able to reassure people of that without screwing things up for different people. As to the unconstructiveness of my criticism, I'm trying to make sure he's not going to do this again. Seems constructive enough to me.
And if we're going to talk in cliches, two wrongs don't make a right.
