I don't think there's anything outstandingly wrong with my selection process, just a bad run of luck I guess. Last time it happened, I gave myself two days to feel down and whiny on the promise on the third day to suck it up and move on.

It does suck, and you should give yourself a couple of days of pity party time, because that really does help. It is when that party extends into a week or month long party that you get problems.

Just remember, there are a LOT of people out there, and when dating around most of the people you find aren't going to be compatible with you. Either you won't be attracted/like them, or visa versa. So do not fret, one day you will come home from a date that was awesome, and get a second date. Then a Third, and a forth, and a fifth, and so on....

As far as I know, that's the best way to deal with most things, give yourself a mourning period, and then just move on.

Well, stuff like the Shadowrun and W40k tangents, those actually weren't bad. It's when it becomes argumentative, I think, that we should stop. Support can consist of distracting banter as much as hugs.

We have had seven different people off the top of my head say they feel unwelcome because its a buddy buddy fun discussion, and their actual LGBTA+ problems feel like an unwelcome distraction. In the end, there is no pleasing everyone.

Honestly, I don't think it's possible to shut own discussions or even arguments entirely. I would prefer if we'd just take care to leave them spoilered for the sensitive. Which also works for tangents. And the "buddy buddy discussions" are to a large part what contributes to this thread's welcoming, relaxed and familial atmosphere.

And I will agree, this thread can feel quite cliqueish. This is something we need to address. Injokes like the biting thing and all the flirty is fun for us, but it can make other people feel like outsiders and that isn't something we want to encourage. I will also say there might be a bit of a hierarchy as well, which can sometimes discourage discussion.

However, we are a support thread mainly and we need to get a balance.

I think of myself as both genders. Not really trans, but not just singled gendered either.

Anyway, Lentrax's World Famous Nachos:

Things you need:
Tortilla chips
Taco meat
Cheese (I use a blend of Cheddar, Monterey Jack, Pepper Jack, and Poblano)
Sour Cream
Jalapeño peppers
Salsa
Olives

1. Microwave a small amount of leftover taco meat (Fresh is better, but with three kids I can't always have it.)
2. Place layer of tortilla chips on a plate. Spoon a handful of meat on top of the chips. Cover with cheese and jalapeños.
3. Add more chips. Add remainder of meat, cheese, and peppers.
4. Microwave for 1 minute.
5. Add sour cream, salsa, and olives.
6.Eat.
