The mother black dragon's speech balloons are purple with white lettering when she is in the scene; but when she is doing a voice-over explanation for a scene in the past, the lettering is black. Never thought about that until today.

Oh. I just noticed that in #521 Tsukiko would have had a level drained by her ghoul, while in #830 she has a ring that protects against that.

Or maybe she's not sure about what her alignment is. She was, after all, consorting with a devil at the time, and in the service to a rather evil person, so it isn't exactly unreasonable for her to think she might have dipped into the deep end of the alignment pool.

IIRC, Word of Giant is that this is the correct answer. That a character has an alignment does not mean they can know their alignment automatically.

I just now caught on that Chuck (the Arcane Trickster) and Crystal from the Thieves' Guild are the proprietors of the Rob U While U Sleep Inn, which would likely mean Sir Francois and Elan were staying the night in Greysky City. Facts about cosmological forces are largely unrelated to what people feel about themselves and others. Haley feels she is not "Good enough" based on a complex set of personal experiences and insecurities; the universe still dumps her in the Chaotic Good box, next to Elan and Shojo.

Poking around the earlier strips, I noticed something. Redcloak has a line in panel 9 of #37 which I never noticed when I've read the strip before, probably due to my old monitor having slightly different color.
