Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
So it seems like Issac is an independent being, mentally, but one whose existence is currently dependent on the GM hivemind, meaning he'll die at end of turn the same way the Wizard of Oz creatures lost their sentience when Maxwell died. And he's hoping Wanda will have a way for him to cheat that.
Interesting that they were able to turn Charlie's tower into a self-pulling thread, but couldn't do the same for Issac. Maybe because there's some deep sentience in towers waiting to be awakened or something.Last edited by Aquillion; 2017-10-13 at 06:58 PM.

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
New Update
Spoiler
So, has Stanley tried to disband any decrypted?
If an Archon turned from Charlie, could they be disbanded by a future side?
Removing a Ruler's disband powers would go a long way to reducing slavery in Erfworld, if you could remove the link to the current wielder.
I wonder what would happen if Wanda was permanently incapicitated.
Alternatively Marie is using a carnymancy scroll to suspend the disband rule on herself.
Or possible Fate, but that might make Fate too OP if it can suspend the rules at will, instead of just tweaking probability.

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
SpoilerKudos to Erfworld for having Jillian do something very interesting - in character, no less - for a change.
Being unable to disband Encrypted makes a lot of sense. They don't have upkeep, so it's sensible the ruler wouldn't have the right kind of bond with them to disband. Jillian could still simply kill her, I suppose.

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
Did no see any of that coming at all.
SpoilerAnd Wnada still has a hold on Marie in some form. Look at he hat. It still has a flower and the hat itself is a skull but you can't see anything below the midpoint on the eye sockets. Great bit of forshadowing there I think.Member of the Giants in the Playground Forum Chapter for the Movement to Reunite Gondwana!

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
SpoilerThe only good part about this update is that it supports my theoretical fan comic. I.e. Marie outright ordering Wanda around, by telling her it is Fated
Marie: Wanda! Open this jar of mayo! It is Fated (spooky voice).
Otherwise, much ado about nothing.

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
SpoilerIf I were in Jillian's shoes I would dust Marie. Right now.
That the Disbanding didn't work is worrying.
If Marie was to important Jill would have been incapable of even trying.
This implies it's now wholly her unit."If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
Spoiler1) Marie tells Wanda she should change to Jillian's side because they're Fated to be on the same side.
2) Wanda interprets this entirely differently than Marie intended, intent on decrypting Jillian.

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
Spoiler: Today's comicI really liked how Jillian tried to disband Marie. That's the first sensible thing she have done in a while. Manipulative and with suspect loyalty, I would have disbanded Marie too.Bad to the Bone!

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
SpoilerYes. I'd have probably let her bring me Wanda before I disbanded her though as a calculated risk. This is the first comic in a long time that I've actually enjoyed. It's just a shame that it didn't work. Erfworld really needs to trim down on their viewpoint characters.
Can a ruler just straight up attack someone on their own side? Can any unit? Or do they have to turn first?

So Jillian shot herself in the foot when she turned her to her side?
Honestly I'd like Wanda to break free of Marie.Last edited by guttering flame; 2017-10-18 at 01:14 AM.

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
That comic was amusing and I actualy /liked Jilian there for the first time in a long while.
I assume the reson the disbanding failed would be beause it's still Wanda maic who is animating Marie, as seen by the hat, thus, even turned she's not /fully Jillian's.I'm sig'ing in the rain, just sig'ing in the rain....

Okay, that was surreal.
But Charles basically being controlled by histowertemple is as appropriate as it is funny."If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
I'm not sure that what Erfworld needed was yet another completely unlikable character. It's going to be pretty unsatisfying if Charlie gets a disadvantage after all this time because his own tower is too stupid to let him protect his own side properly.

I knew that last line was coming as soon as the word 'temple' entered the scene.
