Works for me, and of course it's served as a wrap and smothered in pico de gallo and avocado.

    600 quatloos:

Offer gold and I'll take that bet. I'll take that bet for a million gold pieces. A billion. Really, an arbitrarily large number.

I have a theory so grand, so outrageous, so EXTREME that no one even be able to calculate the odds.

I hereby bet a stained and crumpled two-dollar-bill, that MiTD is "the Dark One". He's literally in the dark all the time. He has worshippers not only in his world, but in OURS too! Have you seen the seventeen megathreads about MiTD's actual origins?

Given that Redcloak knows what the MitD is, treats MitD with contempt, treats The Dark One with reverence, and even dismay at the fact that The Dark One won't even talk to him, i dare to calculate the odds at 0%.

Okay, I'm gonna put 100 spacebucks on a long, but not impossible, shot.

Hrm. An interesting one. I laughed at first, but then… An obnoxious, insincere "I surrender, suckers" met with some good old "Good, not dumb" from the Paladin would be a character moment, and quite something for Serini to witness and contemplate.

    Against what?

    I have four orichalcum obols,
    Two talents of zinc,
    Threestone of seashells,
    And two sheaves of wheat.

On another note: one slightly used 1987 Dodge Ramcharger says that Roy's Spellsplinter Feat is from a previously published source, and not something The Giant made up. (I do not exclude the possibility of modification.)

Oh! I'd gladly take either of those! (With the latter, I'll at least (and last) be able to say I have multiple talents!)

That's just MURDER, though. (Preceded by slavery, no less.)

And no bet on that one. Pretty much everybody is certain it's at most a spin on 3.5's very own Mage Slayer.

Huh. I figured it was Roy channeling earlier-edition rules where getting hit before you got a spell off in a round automatically disrupted/fizzled your spell. If Haley's dad was a First Edition Thief, it makes sense that Grandfather Greenhilt was an OD&D Fighting Man.

Correction, then (and sorry 'bout assuming): pretty much everyone other than Lord Torath (who has another notionally valid theory that still makes this an unsafe bet) is certain it's most likely just Mage Slayer or a spin on it.

Of course, Redcloak's comments in Victory Comes from Within suggest that Roy doesn't think it works by channeling 1e/OD&D rules, which is probably a mark against my interpretation.

    On an unrelated note:

Lien is the "Good, not dumb" paladin (panels 6-7).
