I'm going to argue that this isn't the power of love. Milov's just reminding himself that Siggy slept with his wife. The armor is a physical manifestation of his divine rage, which is good in-setting.

    ...

No, I don't believe that either. But it's funnier than love being the source of his power.

I'd say that Domonic's Champion of Balance getup was his superhero form. He was wearing armor and had a cape. A cape made of leaves, but a cape nevertheless.

It just so happens that Milov here is only MOSTLY dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive.

He did not say true love, he said "to blaive", which we all know means to bluff! So you were playing cards and he cheated you or--

You're quite right - everyone is getting costume upgrades!

First was Jacob, actually, though I suppose his real "super-hero outfit" comes much later.

Dominic (in his most sinister role) came next, then was Gregory, and now we have Milov.

It's only a matter of time before Luna gets hers...

    EDIT:

Is it a good thing or a bad thing that they're not spending 5 strips charging up and yelling?

P.S: Although, if Mookie includes an "OVER 9000000!!!!!" somehow, he will redeem this strip for me.

Dominic: You may have the advantage, but I have one last technique that will defeat you. I will draw on the bonds that me and my friends share to power the ultimate attack!

He will just have to suck his bond with Gregory dry then, it's his only chance. If Gregory loves being manipulated by his brother, I'm sure he loves it even more when he draws spiritual energy from him to blow other people up.

You know what would be totally awesome, though? Is if Siggy lopped Milov's head off in the next panel because even after unlocking his 'hidden power' it wasn't enough because he was an idiot and charged into a battle while weakened.

Though I suspect that the moral of the story is that being reckless in the name of good always pays off... Another victory for Lawful Stupid.

You know, I stopped reading the strip for a bit, and came back and saw today's and thought "oh no, he's overusing the Tentacle Panels again." But you know, after realizing what the art is actually representing here, I actually like it as a technique. We have the mental fight going on behind panels of what's physically happening (except in todays, where the panels are a flashback montage). Plus, Mookie's crappy drawing style is less glaring when he's doing action scenes.

In short, I actually like the presentation for once.

And the power level being over 9000? The power level is always over 9000 in mental battles in this strip, nothing new.

    Also, this

Okay so mental battles contain lots of tentacles.....note to self stay away from mental battles.

Though this brings up the question of if the good guys are doing it would that make it noble tentacle rape?

You know, that's actually kind of creepy. It's like Dominic taught Gregory to love being abused as a kid, only with manipulation.

Eeew. You realize that from now on, I'm going to be thinking of that every time he's in the strip.

A first, in that I have never audibly expressed my displeasure with a comic before. If I have, it has been rightfully purged from memory.

Actually I'm English. But living in the Czech Republic does mean I'm not in any way up to date in American or British sex slang... Sorry if I still use verbs in my sentences :)
Otherwise the whole option thing was meant as someone back there pointed out. Though it's a moot point now, because this thread is just a bit too fast for the amount of time I can invest in it :/

As to the strip, I guess it's just the standard emotional and melodramatic Final Battle type thing, with love powering the goody to win the day. Normal cliché that isn't any worse than most action films. Umm, yeah...

    Power Attack + Leap Attack.

Actually, couldn't you make Spark just a normal Awakened house cat? I think he might be able to take class levels then. If he can take class levels Complete Champion's Lion Totem Barbarian variant nets him Pounce, which is pretty much what DFA implies.

After that, levels in Swashbuckler. It fits.

I wouldn't know that, D&D is not amongst the RPGs I play - I merely figured that, if we are statting out Spark, it would seem fitting for him to possess his signature move.

You wouldn't be the first one to point this out - this honour, if I'm remembering correctly (which I probably am not) would go to Tekraen about 70 pages ago.
It sparked a short discussion how it would be a wise move to stomp Mookie's house with a Timber Wolf.
