The kinetic hum grows louder, it seems to come from all directions, bouncing of the road and sounding from the sky.What glass lies around shakes with the noise. It is unlikely that their weapons alone could cause this.

*pokes Darkening Cloud to the fact that one of them read the note*

One of the soldiers puts on a scanning visor and looks around-mostly up-in an attempt to see any invisible object or entity that may be causing the noise. It's just designed to pierce invisibility, incidentally. >.>

Nothing can be seen in the sky above the street.

Thats not to say there is nothing nearby, just that you're not looking in the right place.

"Will that be all.I wish to finish my report and head back ASAP."

[AAPC Landing Site]

The other soldier hands the note to the one talking. "If you wanted maps, you could've asked." The speaking soldier's anger seems a bit defused, though he's still suspicious.

The scanning soldier continues looking around the area in general, particularly at the Yiridians and their AAPC, if possible.

[Darkening Cloud]

The Yiridians look well trained, equipped and cleaned. They just fiddle with their weapons or gear, making checks.

"Then I think that an agreement could be reached over some local charts and maps.We will be in touch. Thank you, my job is now a lot easier. Goodbye, mehrak."

The soldiers return to the AAPC, which in turn heads for the deck of a nearby carrier that rises above the buildings.[Told you that it was there] With a final kick of its engines, taking out what nearby windows survived the earthquake, moves of towards the base of the NYA.

{It isn't a term of abuse, it just means stranger.}

"They're going to pay for those windows..." The soldier gestures for his squad to head back to their speeder, and all four speeders depart from the area.

"No. Of course you aren't. You obviously just want to keep me from finding it out," says the stubborn woman.

She folds her arms and crosses her legs defiantly.

Kye sighs. What do you want it to be because of?

"I don't care." She shrugs, turning her head to look at one of the graffiti-like sketches on the wall, colored like an ocean sunset. "I just want to be right for once, that's all."

It seems that has given her yet another idea. "Oh! I've heard of this guy once. His skin turned orange because he ate too many carrots."

Going on as if Kye hadn't said anything related to "You're wrong", Bob continues. "...so, I've been thinking. Maybe you ate too many apple peels. I don't know why you would do that, though, because they taste like worms and dirty socks."

She makes a 'yuck' face, to show how bad worms and dirty socks taste.

"It's a cursed fruit used a lot by famous wizards." Like, the one on a poster on the wall, who has a dashing smile and a winking eye.

"It's been cursed since the dawn of time, so that completely explains how your skin's red." She shrugs, and leans back, content that she's correct this time.

Basement of the Mansion

"Well, of course. That's because they're a secret." She shrugs. "Only the 'in' crowd are allowed to know about them, they're so dangerous."

She starts thinking. "In fact, if you want to see one, we have a tree of them in the backyard."

Unfortunately, that won't happen anytime soon, because I'm deadtiming.

"How would you know that it's not it? 'Specially, considering you just said you don't know what apples are," says the young woman. "So, obviously, that means that it's correct."

Bob now has a smug smile on her face, having proven herself correct in her own mind.

Because I always find out what I'm eating. So, if I had eaten any apples, I'd know what they are.

"Well, of course you'd think that," she says, shaking her head as if feeling pity for Kye. "If you had known you had eaten one, then you would have been rushed to the emergency room immediately."

Having decided that she's finished arguing now, the wizard stands up after grabbing her crooked hat again, and placing it on her head.

Councillor Veriswen comes to greet Yamako, and lead her into her 'office'. It looks far more like a solarium than an office, with plants everywhere, and small animals scurrying about among them. The air is humid, but not too warm for most people. She leads you to some comfortable chairs near a fountain, and there are fruit slices and fresh water set out.

"I am Councillor Veriswen Hiriloth of the Ostari. How may I help you?"

"my name is Yamako Katsuragi, and I wish to use my skills in the service of the empire" she sits down, and takes a slice of apple

"A laudable goal. Of course you understand that your history might make some people question your motives." she says, her voice calm and polite.

"I see you've read my criminal record....though the fact that I harmed none of the soldiers that tried to arrest me should speak for it's self"

"It does. But I have no assurance that you haven't been hired to infiltrate. However, your skills could be useful...." She holds out a piece of fruit, and a lizard about the size of a large rat takes it and scurries back into the vegetation to hide. "Perhaps a probationary period of sorts."

"But you don't have all the cards." The Commander smirks and the lightning blade sheathed in his right wrist pops out, extending to it's full 3.5ft length as he tries to press it to Gordon's neck, but not trying to kill him.

Gordon laughs.

"Excellent Commander. Tell you what, You, Charity and I have a little battle. If you win, you both go free, no retailation. You lose, you sign the contract. Deal?"

Rogar walks in with the healing potions.
"Um, boss?"
"Everything is fine, just give the potions to Charity."
"Yes. Sir."

"Leave Charity out of the fight unless she joins in herself." He says, keeping the blade close to Gordon's neck. "Call off the cat thing first."
