It doesn't like %s. I just had to deal with that. I don't know how to fix it - I moved it in my Photobucket account.

Re: Setting Up A Custom Avatar
I'm not seeing that. Here's what he posted, underscore and all.
Edit: Not sure which one you're referring to, they both have the underscores though, and these exact addresses lead to the correct avatar (although both have the same transparency problem from being a .jpeg):
Or is that not what you meant?
And if the forum software removes underscores from URLs when entered into the custom avatar field, my avatar shouldn't work since it contains an underscore.
I still believe that the avatars need to have the .png removed from the image name and be converted to .png/.gif files before uploading.
In fact, I'm going to go ahead and convert/upload them myself, I'll edit this post momentarily.
Here they are, these links should work (click the pictures for the link):

Re: Setting Up A Custom Avatar
That's the one he'd posted yes, but it isn't the one his blank box is showing.
The first one in my quote is the address to the blank box below the username (an invalid adress) while the last is the one the avatarist used to show the image.
Maybe the problem is that the underscore was right after an /?
And that the software think that the first two numbers after an % is some sort of a command?
Just a theory.
(should probably have elaborated instead of posting more or less the quote of the suggested answer to the question in the request thread)

Re: Setting Up A Custom Avatar
Oh, I didn't think to check the actual link for the avatar. It could be that the forum somehow negated those characters, but I think it is more likely that he is simply using a faulty link. Anyhow, my links should work fine, I've removed any possible compatibility issues.

Re: Setting Up A Custom Avatar
I have two avatars, and neither of them are working. They match the field details but will not show.
http://s957.photobucket.com/albums/a...OotsAvatar.png
&
http://s957.photobucket.com/albums/a...6firestuff.png
I'm not sure why the second one is over twice the length of the first, and therefore cannot all be put into the field thing but neither will show. I tried to save them as GIF as well but it says that they will lose all transparency if I were to do so. Can you help me?

Re: Setting Up A Custom Avatar
The avatar setting have changed recently, the option to specify height and width was replaced by an overflow area. Make sure your avatar is less than 120px in either dimension and it should be fine.

Re: Setting Up A Custom Avatar
I posted it, then on my computer a small blue box appears with a question mark in it, and it doesn't appear. Earlier it says it has 120 pixels max, can something be 120 pixels for width or height? Can you see my avatar, because it could just be the computer I'm using.

Re: Setting Up A Custom Avatar
Yes, both can. I should have phrased it as "less than or equal to 120px in both dimensions".
Although the issue with your avatar is that there is no "www.Paladin.jpg". You need to upload the image to any of a variety of image hosting services (such as TinyPic, Photobucket or ImageShack) and then enter the provided URL (often described as the Direct Link).
Edit:
Although you might want to first request that Ninjaman re-upload the avatar somewhere else. The one he posted for you has the filename "Paladin.png.jpg", which probably means that it's a PNG file that was converted to a JPEG by whatever upload site he used. PNG is much better format than JPEG for OotS style images.Last edited by Keris; 2010-08-28 at 03:01 PM.

Re: Setting Up A Custom Avatar
The space in the URL (specifically, the one in "Linked Pics") is likely to cause the error.

Re: Setting Up A Custom Avatar
There's a space in the URL, which causes an error. Rename the "Linked Pics" folder to take out the space and it should work.

Re: Setting Up A Custom Avatar
For some reason I can't use the new avatar I made and posted on my photobucket account. When I try to paste the URL into the field this message comes up:
You did not enter the correct format for the Custom Avatar URL field. Please read the field description for the expected format.
If needed avatar is here.
