Re: LGBTitp - Part Seven
Well, it's not very funny when you guys carry on like that when you know perfectly well what is being said.
Every once in awhile, sure.
But when half the page is derailed by it, you'd better come up with a damn fine punch line to save it.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Seven
To the pants/trousers discussion, I present for discussion the matter of pantaloons and trousers being words of Latin origin. Therefore the word that should be used is breeches, from the Old English brēc (plural of brōc).
I also second the motion for kilts and skirts be recognised as manly and comfortable.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Seven
Nah, I usually prefer the Latinate, almost always sounds cooler. Although in this case all three options sound kind of lame.
Is that really a product of modern consumerism? I mean, I always assumed it has been around since time immemorial. Really I wouldn't know though, I've always been confident in myself. Not saying that confidence is deserved, but at least I never doubt myself.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Seven
Well, I suppose the ability to photoshop photos probably doesn't help either. Still, I don't really understand why people are so self conscious. I think it would probably help to teach people to focus on what they are good at, there are a few things I'm better at than (almost) everyone I know and several others I'm still pretty good so it doesn't bother me that I'm not perfect in every way. I'm not super attractive, for example, but this doesn't bother me. Many people seem to think they have to be perfect and beat themselves up if they are not.
Part of it might be a conformity thing. People might not necessarily think they need to be perfect, but they want to be the same as everyone else and feel insecure when they are not. This is probably a problem many people have when they start thinking they are LGBT.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Seven
I know, dearie, I was making a silly. It's like how bullies tend to pick on kids who have flaws they hate in themselves. It's really too bad they feel that way, though. Skirts are actually quite comfy.
And what's wrong with milk? It's pretty much the only thing I drink.
This. We're both speaking English, but the language has evolved on both sides of the pond. American English =/= British English. When I say "pants" I do not refer to underwear, and if I did all my friends would laugh at me.Last edited by Danne; 2010-07-25 at 10:17 PM.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Seven
Well, for one thing, it's considered rude to order something that's not on the menu at an establishment. And milk generally isn't even inside of a bar unless it also has a food attachment. So there's the added trouble of getting it from the food side to the bar side. Also, is considered weird to order something non-alcoholic from a bar.
Also, also, there's some kind of weird sexual joke going on there that I've never really penetrated.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Seven
Uh... You're overthinking it. Milk is a "kid's drink", as well as being non-alcoholic. It's just like ordering a cranberry juice, but with the childish connotations on top.

I always have Blackcurrant and lemonade. Or lemonade and lime. I'm 17, nearly 18, despise the taste of all alcohol. XD

Hmm, I don't mind alcohol, but I will admit I hate beer. I'm 20.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Seven
I'm 20 and I like alcohol, but only if I don't get drunk. Loss of control makes me feel uneasy.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Seven
Gotta agree with that. I don't like losing control over my own body.
Well, I don't know about that since beer is pretty low in alcohol compared to even wine or sake much less spirits, but beer tastes like crap in my opinion. I don't know why.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Seven
It doesn't exist, it's just yeast that can't make up its mind or wants to ferment anywhere it can.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Seven
I reject the concept of rigidly defined lines between middle-, bottom-, and top- fermenting yeast. After all, they're all fungi.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Seven
Truth. Also, I don't think yeast can top-ferment naturally. Yeasts are meant to be bottom-fermenting, and it has to make a choice to top-ferment. Now, that's its own choice, but I just don't believe that God wants us to be brewing ales.
