Re: [NEXUS] OoC VI: Do You Think You Can Handle It?
No sayings on what might have been. But I do know how it did turn out and that may have implied to others that they needed an air force.
Whether that's true or not tends to boil down to an individual level and I can't really say.
As for a tips Wall, while I like the idea, I think it'd probably be better just to incorporate that into the current wall somehow. Usually by someone starting off the different sections.

Well, a little bit. The henchmen were around before, but I did have them around in part to deal with the Inside forces, or with whoever was guarding the city.

Re: [NEXUS] OoC VI: Do You Think You Can Handle It?
Actually, what I meant was, that the current plot I am running is likely going to be long. And until I get some more of the ArkenRaiment one done, I won't consider running two really long plots at once. >.>
Also, personally I figure Exalts to mostly be too powerful for me to make a decent group plot for. Like the current plot, I'd prefer about an average "C" range of power. A little more, or less, is not bad. It's just that I like to challenge the PCs, and if they're too powerful, it's hard to do so.
I've also figured that a total of five people, including me, seems to be the magic number.
As a SRS Plot, there'll be many moments when I'll actually try to hurt or kill PCs, but combat scenes won't be that often. A few here and there mostly, but there's also plenty of investigative and social stuff involved.
Of course, that can change on the preference of people involved.
Now, all those are MY guidelines. If someone else is running Srs Plots, I of course won't tell them what to do.

Re: [NEXUS] OoC VI: Do You Think You Can Handle It?
So...yeah, at this point, it looks like all the factions are definitely my fault and airships/armies are partially my fault.
I was pretty sure I was at least partially responsible for most of it, so I guess the real question is if they're bad things or not.
I'm just trying to figure out if I'm an utterly terrible influence.
The general opinion, if I'm not mistaken, seems to be either neutral or good in most cases.

Re: [NEXUS] OoC VI: Do You Think You Can Handle It?
No, you are not a terrible influence.
Its just that with the problem that you said you have about characters, you get a little tense, and when people are tense, they have a tendency to overreact to stuff.
I know, its why I make a point of not getting overheated when I roleplay. Makes me too testy when I get too hot.Avatar by Emperor Ing

Re: [NEXUS] OoC VI: Do You Think You Can Handle It?
@DC: Factions yes, airships kinda, if they are good and bad. Eh... it seems like you don't have fun roleplaying the empire but it's good idea in theory. Would probably work better if you had more fun roleplaying it.
@Wolf: Hmm... then Garth seems like obvious chose for SRS plot.

Re: [NEXUS] OoC VI: Do You Think You Can Handle It?
The rare opportunities I have to actually justifiably start things with it without drama popping up as a result tend to be rather nice, Ape.
Those opportunities are...well, just that. Rare, and even then they still tend to go bad sometimes.
And just reacting to the random threat-of-the-week constantly...well.
It gets kinda dull after a while. I think that's understandable.Avatar by Ashen Lilies.

Re: [NEXUS] OoC VI: Do You Think You Can Handle It?
Well, I wanted to differentiate it from the regular Wall as less of a 'everyone just writes graffiti' and give it more of a collaboration of writers feel. You know.. A small paragraph rather than just bantering graffiti as it is now.
That sort of thing at least.

Re: [NEXUS] OoC VI: Do You Think You Can Handle It?
Thank you, Phantom.
On a somewhat-related note, I hope what I said works to explain my irritation with that last Empire-AMEN incident a bit. I don't mean to be unreasonable, but...invincible enemies as I was seeing kinda take what fun I can get from it away.
On yet another note, I seem to have gotten chat working again, likely temporarily. Whoo.Temporarily indeed. It broke again.Last edited by Darkcomet; 2010-11-30 at 11:15 PM.

Re: [NEXUS] OoC VI: Do You Think You Can Handle It?
Been thinking; is there much room for plots involving the empire that don't involve massive threats and/or invasions? Like, internal corruption, infighting, or small-scale orginized crime based things? Because it sort of seems like a shame for the Empire to be completely closed off to plots, just because Empire-related plots have gotten a bad rep... can't force you into anything, of course, DC, but if you're unwilling to host plots of that nature, it might be a good idea to allow room for a government or subset of the empire that does.

Re: [NEXUS] OoC VI: Do You Think You Can Handle It?
Incidentally, after seeing some of Shadow of the Colossus, I want to run a boss-type battle based on some of the ones in it. Malus, for one.
But I don't want it to be random...
Hmmm.

Re: [NEXUS] OoC VI: Do You Think You Can Handle It?
Part of the problem with that is that... well, it starts getting a bit apocalyptic (as well as being a bit like the last apocaplot, which involved Inside being turned into a shadowland), and there has been a bit much of that recently. Although if someone wanted to run an Infernal Exalted as a villain... well, that could be interesting. Given as the Infernals aren't as much world-destroying and more world-dominating.
Also, yes it is. Pretty good avvie, though.

Re: [NEXUS] OoC VI: Do You Think You Can Handle It?
Right now, it doesn't 'exist' in the sense of having a thread and npcs running it and such. It's a city outside the influence of the Empire where the assassins guild SAINT is located, and Lex-kat (a player) has a small scale plot there involving some thugs. But to flesh it out enough for more encounters, someone would need to kind of take ownership of it, the way DC has with the city of Inside.
As far as the more srs discussion, DC should know that my opinion has always been Empire = good. As far as factions, they can kind of get out of control when players start throwing their armies at each other instead of roleplaying as characters, but that doesn't happen too often.
It seems obvious there's a demand for more actual GM'd plots, but I don't know if we have GMs to run them. I'm hanging up my own GM hat now that the Arkenshirt plot is done.My avatar! Isn't it just utterly diabolical? Ashen Lilies made it!

Ho ho ho... It's December! Time for holiday spirit Kris to make a return!
Also, maybe I should put my own GMing hat back on. It might give me added incentive to actually roleplay, instead of just making OoC comments all the time...Originally Posted by Lord Magtok

Re: [NEXUS] OoC VI: Do You Think You Can Handle It?
Not the same kind of 'shadowland', methinks. What Lix and HG are referring to is an Exalted thing where the land is blighted and full of undead and stuff. (I'm not an Exalted player, so I'm sure there's a lot more to it than that, but that's the basic idea.)
Though now I'm thinking - what if there was a settlement in the Nexus that was enchanted to be always dark, for vampires and shadowmages and such? Though I doubt anyone other than darkness based creatures would live there, because - you know - vampires.
Unless, it was organized, with a strong vampire leader to be a vampire haven. There'd be a pact between the vampires and mortals, with the mortals under the vampires protection, and plied with riches, in exchange for being blood donors. Any vampire who shows up there is given sanctuary from slayers (and the sun ) but if any of the mortal citizens are harmed, he's banished forever, under pain of (re)death if he returns.
It'd be an interesting place, where they worship no gods, and eat no Italian food.
I doubt I have the energy to run a location like that, so if someone else wants to take the idea and do something with it, go ahead. My avatar! Isn't it just utterly diabolical? Ashen Lilies made it!

Re: [NEXUS] OoC VI: Do You Think You Can Handle It?
In case you didn't notice, as far as the organized crime ring thing goes, I kinda have a place for that.
Of course. It's infested with vampires right now.
Someone should fix that.
Also the idea of fighting myself doesn't exactly seem appealing, as far as those other two things go.Avatar by Ashen Lilies.
