    May I suggest dumping the magic resist. You've already made him and incredibly dangerous weapon against characters who are magical or superpowered in some way which is a vast majority of the population. Perhaps doing so and making him a little bit fragile might make him more of a glass cannon sort of character. Fragile so he has to rely more on his cunning to take out his targets. Possibly just give him resistance to mind control or those sort of effects so he has a shot at dealing with psychics.

    Yeah, that sounds smart. That was one of the main things I was wonderig about anyway. Idea is he was given the gun by a death god to teach the hubristic mages of his world a lesson, which he did until one of them managed to kick him out of the dimension and into the Nexus.

    Why not? You said yourself, you characters could easily fall to sneaking up and getting shot. And that's exactly what this character could do.

    I don't like fighting myself for one. And for another, he's kind of over getting revenge after wiping out an empire. He would shoot Mercury if he had no way of fighting back though.

    It wouldn't be fighting yourself. It'd be a cutscene in which he killed Mercury in a single post. Besides, doesn't he have to follow his death god's order to kill hubris mages? Mercury pretty much tops the list right now.

    Hm, it's actually interesting defining Trix's narrative style, and this encounter is really telling of her character personality compared to the Tavern stuff, and only after a couple posts. I'm liking this.

    Yeah, TE, the gun would be enough to put him on a power level to rival most beings in the Nexus. I would cut out the tropes and resistance. Just make him a normal human with a really powerful gun.

    Probably not. He would actually probably be a very good power level. Because against normal people he's just a guy with a gun and against godings and what not he has a gun that can kill them.

    And a lot of time being overpowered is more in how you play a character rather then the way the character is built.

    I'm participating, just like Elan Yeah I know what you mean, a nice set of encounters with a single character can really help you define your character. It's always nice to have the opportunity, it usually how I build my characters rather than writing up formal sheets for them. >.>

    My two bits on the Gun is such: It does seem to be a bit on the OUCH side but perhaps you could do something less like insta-gib but still to reasonable damage. This post might be a little late so ignore it if that's been said already.

    Protip:

    If your character gets into a fight with another character, he is probably aiming to kill. You, however, are not.

    Guy with a powerful gun that is an actual threat to powerful characters is good, but remember, don't use it as an ikeelyou device. Most people won't want their characters to die. They must be able to dodge.

    Better option then to make it do more more damage when they are more magical. Would be to just have it pierce magical defences. Or at least look at the more damage as locational. Rather than as just enough damage to kill them. A bullet fired into a leg and then exploding, would be a pain. But not character destroying.

    Yeah, I was planning not to have him use the gun unless someone tries to do something truly over-the-top evil in front of him. And it isn't an insta-gib, it just makes the playing field equal, it works the same against a god as it does a mortal, so you could dodge it, or just shoot him first.
