Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, MK XVII - 'Save' the Last Dance
I've been disenfranchised! My vote for Siggy as least favorite (non-snark) went uncounted! Someone is going to pay for this outrage!
@AverageJoe: I just love that maltak gets a full strip's worth of panels. So perfect.

Join the dark side . . . you know you want to . . .
Actually, AgentPaper and ClockworkSeal pretty much took care of my arguments, so I'm good for now. Hopefully it'll stop soon - nothing good can come of this road, but I'm too stupid and argumentative to simply not post in it.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, MK XVII - 'Save' the Last Dance
At this point, I think we could just call it "Yeah, Another One" and be done with it. Something about Maltak would be nice, I guess, but that's not what the thread is really about half of the time anyway.

I like how "At the Mountains of Madness" also ties in with Snugglthulhu.

I just happen to be working on one right now. Well, on the first part, at least.
Finding fitting speech bubbles can be a pain.
That only shows how centered on your own culture's values you are.
Vote rigging is a common practice in many parts of the earth, meaning that many cultures obviously embrace it.

I joined this thread on the grounds of being a Philosophy Major. I'm not even going to touch that debate.

I suggest "Once You Go Maltak, You Never Go Back." as the next thread title.

Quick, let's derail the thread even further so it doesn't get shut!

Roger!
SpoilerWildlife Focus: the LoLShark
Thankfully far rarer than the lolcat. A shark that is given a caption is a sad thing whose very existence is inhumane and insulting to sharks as a whole. The lolshark pictured here is a perfectly innocuous basking shark, a cousin of the great white that feeds exclusively on plankton and that comes in second place in the “largest shark existing” awards, just behind the whale shark, an equally peaceful filter-feeder that also moonlights as the largest living fish. Now it is but a wretched shadow of its former self that exists only “for the lulz.” If you are unfortunate enough to come across one of these once-noble creatures, put it out of its misery immediately.
EDIT: Also, both our avatars are bayimages that aren't displaying for me. Problem solely on my end or are we both suffering from image deletion or something?Last edited by Drakyn; 2009-10-17 at 08:55 PM.

I can still see our avatars, but BayIMG isn't working for me at all right now, so maybe I'm just getting it from the cache.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, MK XVII - 'Save' the Last Dance
I can see both of your avatars fine . . .
Also, I'm imagining Thread 200. A similar moral-debate war like this starts up, and everyone starts posting pictures of cute animals. The newer members will ask "Why's everyone doing that?" And then we will respond, "Many years ago, back when the current arc had only just begun, the tradition was started: to mitigate the harsh words with pictures of adorable animals! Of course, that was back when we had hope that the Maltak Arc would end . . ."

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, MK XVII - 'Save' the Last Dance
That's not the point. The point is that horrible things are happening to that vote as he gots tossed around on the whim of some low-life. A society may accept that, but at the end of the day, no matter the time period, that vote feels violated. It deserves more than that.

Oh, so I guess you've been a rigged vote numerous times in your life, then?
Spoiler
It never will, right?
Also, that strip right here. I just realized the full idiocy of this sudden revelation - and the fact that it's right - after remembering how much time passed between Class Action and then.

I suggest "At the Mountains of Badness"
Failing that, the "of Mookie" variant is fine too. But I'd prefer Badness.Hark! An avatar drawn by Kate Beaton!

I'm for "Badness" due to the ABC, insofar as that counts for anything.

I'm torn between "At the mountains of badness and "At the plains of madness".
