Re: Arena Tournament, Round 47: Aramail vs. No
It's actually your turn, as soon as we sort your situation out.
FF_Fanboy:
SpoilerAs Morbius pointed out, you either don't have hold of the chain or your attack never happened. Resolve this before your turn, then go.
Don't forget about being in the water.
Also, the swimming thing is over and decided. Just so we're clear.
After FF_Fanboy takes his turn, the match is going on pause until Wednesday most likely judging by Bayar's sig.

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 47: Aramail vs. No
the attack happened, but no chain. I think he'll still need to make the concentration check to cast a spell anyway due to the giant stick of sharp metal in him.
Also afterwards Aramail will use his 30ft of movement to get closer to NO. He'll also draw his Harpoon as part of his movement.

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 47: Aramail vs. No
High Ref Morbius
MATCH ON HOLD
Depending on an answer from FF fanboy we may need to rewind to round 6
*hits head on the wall*
FF fanboy
Spoiler
You swim check from the round you attacked No got a result of 13, but you forgot to factor your armor check penalty, -2 from studded leather and another -2 from your shield. The result would be below 10, thus you would sink.
Or is there any reason you can ignore armor check penalty on swin checks?

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 47: Aramail vs. No
Upon my turn, Round - 6,
I try again.
(1d20+17)[25] DC 23
(1d20+2)[22] AC 10
(4d6)[16]
And need a question answered by the refs:
SpoilerWhat is the climb DC for the walls ?
Depending on the answer, will continue my turn.
Edit: You got fried by a ray, the water boils around you and the sharks come to feast upon your cadaver.
Still interested in an answer from the refs though.Last edited by Bayar; 2008-09-08 at 04:43 AM.

The portion of the entry which states that magical effects are unaffected does not apply, as the magical effect in question requires an attack roll. The fire section does not apply as it is not a fire attack.
Thus, this is a magical effect which is subject to the Total Cover.Last edited by Talic; 2008-09-08 at 04:57 AM.

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 47: Aramail vs. No
Hmm, we do need a judge ruling on that. do we go bby the laws of everything, and say wtaer conducts eletricty, and is thus dissolved through out the water. Or do we go by soemthing i'm not entirely sure of.
EDIT: NVM then, I guess that was all negated due to me NOT makign a swim check.Last edited by Fan; 2008-09-08 at 04:56 AM.

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 47: Aramail vs. No
Correct. Rewind to first attack made by Bayar while he was on land and FF Fanboy was completely submerged. Actions may be amended from this point.

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 47: Aramail vs. No
So even though I see him go submerged, my readied action is not valid since he now has total cover. Back to round 6
Since I now notice the water slowly rising in my vecinity, I will try to cast a spell from my scroll.
Spoiler(1d20+17)[19] DC 23 to cast invisibility[/roll]
Not done.**** Photobucket ; RIP avatars

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 47: Aramail vs. No
Continuing my turn, I try to climb the rocks near me.
Climb check: (1d20-1)[2] DC ???
Edit: remember what I said about the forum roller giving certain oll thresholdts ? Proof right here. k, I dont climb the freaking rocks. I stay put in my place.
Round 7 and sharks come to get you. I only get myself wet.
Edit2: By how much did he failed his swim check in round 6 ? Because if he failed by 4 or less, he would be on the water surface, unable to make any progress but still be a viable target for my spell. If he failed by 5 or more, play should continue as normal.Last edited by Bayar; 2008-09-09 at 11:05 AM.

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 47: Aramail vs. No
Well I epic failed the secod one considerig I just remembered I took DOUBLE penalty for my armor, and the like on swim checks. (so all in all I got a 4 against Dc 10, afterwards though I dropped my shield.)

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 47: Aramail vs. No
K. So your turn and the sharks are closing in. Mind if I roll?
(1d100)[70] Attack on a 40 or lower.
Shark attack: (1d20+4)[13]
Damahe: (1d6+1)[6]
Edit: think you are OK. If any refs has anything against this, let us know.Last edited by Bayar; 2008-09-09 at 03:24 PM.

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 47: Aramail vs. No
As long as someone rolls it and whoever it's targetting agrees to let said person roll it, it's fine. We'll keep what Bayar just rolled, but if one of you wants to call the right to roll your own shark attacks please do so now.
Now please stand by while I prep a summary of where we are...
[EDIT]:
CURRENT SUMMARY
After reviewing the past 2 pages and disregarding anything that wasn't a rewind, the match stands as follows:
ROUND 7
Aramail is in O6, currently underwater. He has 23 rounds of breath remaining before he starts to really drown.
No is in K14, with shallow water around his ankles.
Aramail has initiative.
PLEASE CONFIRM THESE SUMMARIES FOR ME SO WE ARE VERY CLEAR AS TO WHAT IS HAPPENING.Last edited by AlterForm; 2008-09-09 at 04:46 PM.

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 47: Aramail vs. No
Alright, play continues to Aramail in Round 7 then. No need to roll for sharks; Bayar covered that just above.
