Reinholdt has no soda. He finds it goes flat rather easily in his hammerspace, and doesn't like the taste much anyways. So let's see if Derek has some stored on the ship.

Derek hadn't heard of soda for the longest time, till he found some at one port he stopped at. His home world apparently never invented it.

Mimi flies around a bit more to scatter the butterflies even further before she speeds back to Misha and Riss. She flies around their heads a couple times before stopping to hover before than.

"I kinda lost track of what we were talking about." She admits with a silly smile. She's not the least bit ashamed of her inability to keep up with the conversation, but she felt the need to explain why she flew off so suddenly.

[Ancient Forest]

The demon ploughs into Jacob, down a hill! Despite the fact that he's already braced himself and refocused his armor to defend against the blow, the sheer force and weight behind it cause his feet to leave the ground, sending the Battlemage careening through the air, down the hill.

If/when he reaches a resting position, he's taken a fair beating from both the blow and the roll down the hill. Thankfully there are no life-threatening injuries, but he's cracked a rib or two and he'll bruise over a good portion of his arm and torso.

Somehow, though, he's standing back up, drinking a potion to quell the pain and striding right back toward the battle. The light doesn't affect him because he wasn't actually looking anywhere near it when it happened.

Estia and Lyanna both look up at Reinholdt, confusion. What's a skyrise? Lyanna is the first to ask.

In the distance, they can see a speck on the horizon that is very likely Gersemi's Melody's Island.

"Reinholdt, anything for you I do have a small supply of hard cider and a bottle or two of something if you want?"

Either way Derek will head downstairs to retrieve the lemonades for the girls as well as a small plate with flat pieces and a creamy lemon spread that make a sweet little snack, as well as anything Reinholdt might want. Then again Derek might not have something that fits in Reinholdt's dietary needs at the moment.

"Volt-ORB!" With the second word of its exclamation, it channels electricity through its body and hopefully into Alvida's arm. She may let it go pretty quickly or resist the electricity. Or maybe her skin is superconductive so the electricity goes around rather than through her muscles and organs and inner parts.

The electricity contracts all the muscles in her hand, so now she can't let go without prying it off, while the current is still going. "Ow!" she exclaims. "You're not very nice!"

She tries to fling it away, but her muscles won't let her.

So, instead of trying something that doesn't work, she brings up her other hand into a fist to try to punch it into submission. That usually works. If not, her next plan will be fire.

"Not at all, yet. What's the job?" Jeanne asks.

The devil straightens, latching his hands together behind the small of his back. "To my knowledge, there is a cult of Dionysus located somewhere in Riverside. It has recently become relevant to my interests to discern what resources Dionysus has available to him. Before you protest," Mercutio holds up an anticipating palm to silence any such objections, "I realize that infiltrating a sex cult is not in your primary interests. So instead, I'd like you to investigate a forest that has recently sprung up nearby Riverside. Reports from it match Dionysus' lore. Sightings of dryads, hunters and loggers mysteriously disappearing. I'd like you to find out if the forest does indeed have any connection to Dionysus, in as much detail as you can."

The Voltorb is punched and stops discharging electricity! If Alvida happened to punch without dropping her pokeball, she may have captured it. If not, it will try to roll away, assuming that Alvida did let go of it.

Well, everyone has to learn things somehow. Although perhaps skipping ahead to a magical forest filled with giant bees is a bit of a plunge.

"Very good. One last thing: I'd like you to take Miss Doss with you." The devil takes a step to the side, revealing a young woman in a robe standing behind him. Which is odd, because she definitely wasn't there five minutes ago. Weird. "Miss Doss will be accompanying you to Riverside and parting ways with you there. I've tasked her with infiltrating the cult there. Miss Doss?"

The cloaked woman bows deeply, and doesn't quite straighten all the way when she stands and moves to go wait by Jeanne.

Riss followed the flight of the butterflies for a few moments, nearly mesmerized by the fluttering of color as they took to the sky. Of course, her full attention was quickly garnered at the first touch although she delayed answering until Misha had moved to her calf, preferring to let out a delighted hum instead. "I.. Don't know." she said. "I mean, sustained stress right now would be bad for me regardless of what kind of sparring is involved. At least, taking an active role wouldn't be optimal without any augments active, I should say." the muse said with a small, almost apologetic smile.

Nibbling slightly on her lower lip and casting her eyes about before returning them to Misha's was likely preface enough that there was at least something else, though."And.. Well.. It's kinda.. I don't feel right without them on either. It's like.. I guess I could describe it as being bound or maybe just weighted down both physically and mentally without them. Needless to say, it would kill the mood for me if I'm constantly reminded of how weak I am. So.. Well, there's that too.."

Misha considers Riss' words carefully, and then nods slowly before leaning in to kiss the muse on the nape of her neck, "Then I can wait for it, and once you're back to 100%, we can all celebrate with some strenuous sparring then. It's not like we have to stop doing it with your augments on, but it is exercise, so I thought I'd at least ask, right?" With a bit of a chagrined smile, Misha goes back to massaging Riss' legs thoroughly. Can't miss anything that might cause a spasm later.

She smiles at Mimi, almost laughing at the pixie's attention span, but deciding against it, "It's okay, I can still barely keep up with my own end of things when I get talking, let alone her's."

Derek joins Reinholdt in having a hard cider himself, drawn from a keg stored downstairs in tall glasses. He takes some time to adjust the sails to match the wind just a bit better. He is pretty quite, distracted by his own thoughts. With him glancing back behind them it might be easy to guess what those thoughts are about.

Mercutio shakes his head. "Miss Doss is expendable. Do not compromise your mission on her behalf. Find out as much information as you can within the next two weeks and report back to me."

Miss Doss stands silently behind Jeanne, head bowed and hands clasped together at her waist.

The muse wouldn't let Misha get away that easily, attempting to hold on to the nereid when she leaned in to place a kiss. It would only be for a moment but Riss felt that was all that would be necessary before letting go. "I appreciate the idea but I'd rather not detract from my time with my aqua vitae by trying to inject something like work into the mix." she said, watching Misha's expression to gauge her reaction.

"Still, you say celebrate but I'm curious about what you mean by that." Riss said with a smile before turning to Mimi. "Well, hopefully, one day I'll be able to keep both of your attentions when I start getting technical." she said. While a peer would be nice at some point.. Well, to think that I'm beyond more than just the base necessities now, I can wait.

Mimi looked between the two with a big smile on her face. "I can keep trying to learn. You just know sooo much about this stuff, and all I know is what you taught me." The pixie giggled and went to land on Riss' shoulder. She plants a couple kisses along the edge of her ear. "And besides, like I could ever stop paying attention to you."

Crash Landing

A colourful meteor begins hurtling down from the sky towards a previously empty field. There's a rather loud noise as it impacts, half burying itself in the ground and showering the rest of the field with dirt.

Anyone with an inkling for the psionic will hear a pervasive tune in their head, albeit muffled slightly by some sort of static.

The meteor - although it's shaped more like a stretched out lemon than a traditional meteor - then begins to peel, its chitinous exterior splitting into eight flaps, which drop down to reveal a fleshy node, before burrowing into the earth.

A dwarf is stumbling up to here. He's got a long, black, tangled beard and bright blue eyes. He's wearing very rusty chainmail that looks like it doesn't offer much protection, a shiny steel cap with a nose guard and a vast pair of antlers mounted atop it, though they're missing most of the tines, the right antler has almost entirely snapped off, and what's left has shredded vegetation and rags draped across them. On his feet are a pair of striped, smelly socks and one hobnailed boot. He's humming along with the tune he's not entirely aware he's picking up as he walks along, and his eyes gleam with madness. Iron Pyrite, chosen host of too many insubstantial spirits of knowledge, secrets and madness to count, is on his rather haphazard way towards the crater.

"Wow, nice jump." Becca says. That's pretty impressive. She wades her way onto the shore entirely, sticking her tongue out at Glamdring when she gets splashed. "They're these bit, round nut type things. Kinda the same size as a pokeball, and they come in all different colours. They trees they grow on are pretty short."

Okay.

So. Big round nuts. Colorful ones. On relatively short trees. Considering how short the trees are here that should make them really stand out, right? Glimdring gives a nod and continues plodding along, leaving a drippy trail of water on the ground behind him.

Hehehe...

We Eevees look silly...

Will they find the tree they're looking for?

Crash Landing

As Iron Pyrite approaches the node (which is about the size of a small car )starts to pulse slightly. As he gets closer, a split forms along it, and something is pushed out of it, collapsing onto the ground covered in a bright green phlegmy substance.

The thing is slightly shorter than the dwarf, with a large head that is almost entirely mouth. It has no eyes, and its body is incredibly thin, with only slight nubs for legs and arms. Its incredibly pale except for its body, which appears to be clothed in a red and white polka-dotted jumpsuit - although where the suit begins and its skin ends is difficult to tell. It staggers to its feet and turns its mouth towards the dwarf.

Misha's lips purse for a moment before she sticks out her tongue at Riss, "You'd do better at keeping my attention if I knew what half those fancy words you used meant. I'm not really good with languages except for the standard one. I don't know if I ever knew any back before my last hibernation, but it's one of those things that goes away pretty quickly. I wouldn't know what an aqua vitae was if you tickled my nose with one." She's pretty sure that she was being referred to based on the context, but she still has no clue what she was being compared to.

"I mean we should celebrate your health by making the most of it, that's all. It might be slow going, but when you get there it'll be worth it to be able to enjoy things like that, with or without augments."

"Oh.. Sorry." Not that I mind explaining but I really should keep in mind the effect that mental augmentations have on information gathering and storage. "I guess that would be a kind of celebration but I think I'd rather just reach a point where I would be more or less 'normal' without them but never really have to stay normal. Does that make sense?" the muse asked. "I mean.. Normal for me is with my enhancements turned on all the time but that's more of a mental normal than a comparable physical normal." she explained.

"As for that phrase.. Well, it's something I came across while reading through a book I recently aquired." Riss began, reaching out toward Misha's arm to try and trace a meandering line down to her wrist. "I looked it up and it's basically a combination of words meaning 'water,' or aqua in this case, and 'life,' or vitae. In concert, though, they take on a different meaning, although I like how the term 'water of life' sounds." she said, her accent lightly playing over the term.

"As for what it means.." Wait. Hold on. Better idea: Stop there for a bit and explain later. It'll be more fun that way."Well.. I'll tell you when we get back home, alright? I don't mean to say I mind that my every word is apparently being hung onto.." the muse said as she tossed a playful smile at Mimi. ...But some things, I think, deserve an audience of one." she said, her grin morphing to momentarily mirror the sly grin Misha had worn earlier.

Mercutio nods, and is suddenly absent from the landscape. Not even foot-prints remain in the dirt road where he was standing. Jeanne is left alone with the still-silent Miss Doss.

"Right. This way then," Jeanne says. And heads towards Riverside.

Or at least where she thinks Riverside is. She probably gets lost a few times along the way, but she'll eventually get there.
