My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is a reboot of the MLP franchise by Powerpuff Girls artist Lauren Faust, currently viewed by (almost) the entire Internet, not only the intended audience. Here is a place where we discuss the joy of friendship.

It's a clever show. It has excellent writing, character dynamics, humor, animation, and generally treats kids seriously rather than condescending to them. It has every right to be a 20 minute corporate committee designed infomercial, but it's not.

Pixar technically makes shows for little boys, and produce some of the best animation in the world.

No Brony could ask for more. I recommend watching the episodes in order. They're all up on Youtube. Unusually, Hasbro seems fine with having the entire series up in public because they've made no move to bring down any of the episodes. Search for "Friendship is Magic Episode 1" and you should find the series pretty easily... Or search for "Sharing is Magic" Google Doc. That is all.

Whoa, calm down there. The show is light hearted, optimistic fun but it's not for everyone. It's good fun, the community is good fun, and everyone can do with a reminder that friendship is magic but if it doesn't gel for you we'll love and tolerate you anyway. Plus, you might hit the wrong episode. Ask first?

All in good fun! If it's not your cup of tea, skim it, but this show has triggered a great creative outpouring from the Internet. Pony themed fan-art is abundant and often excellent. See below for some examples.

Two minor background characters who were adopted as emblems of 4chan. Derpy Hooves is so named due to an animation error in the first episode that had her eyes facing in different directions; 4chan has assigned her the role of Ponyville's mailpony, and her only line so far has been "Muffins". The show's animators are aware of Derpy's popularity and she's shown up a few times recently with her eyes obviously derped. Currently made canon in Feeling Pinkie Keen and in Faust's picture showcased below, Derpy was deemed important enough to appear in storyboards for Season II.

Dr. Whoof is a pony with an hourglass cutie mark; he and his kin save time and space very quietly off camera.

Great & Powerful Trixie made a bet. A bet I'll procure 12 pictures of Trixie - like the one in my sig, of similar quality - before next weekend. Trixie cosplaying, doing weird stuff, finding herself in unusual situations. So! I need ideas! Sketches of Unicorn ponies (I'm willing to vectorize them for free if they're good enough)! I'm gonna have to disagree, I like the horns on the humanoid versions of the pony's who have them like Trixy and Twilight. I also like the Wings on the Humanoid versions of the Pony's who have those, like Fluttershy and Rainbow dash.

And that leads me too another question. Why is it the most, when a humanoid pony is depicted with dark/tan skin, more often then not it seems to be twilight sparkle? Of all the pony's she's one of the least outdoorsy/Athletic, being beaten in these departments by everypony in the main six except Rarity. I don't get it.

This is actually a fantastic idea. I might just do this.

Penny Arcade runs Child's Play, where you can pick out toys from Amazon (and possibly other online retailers by now) and have them delivered right to a children's hospital. (Either a random one, or one you specify.)

Pony fans could work with Child's Play, or start their own similar charity. I'd recommend the former. Especially if you are a gamer.


If you haven't heard of it, Child's Play is a charity that donates 100% of whatever they get to children's hospitals.

On the other hand, after playing through the third episode of Hector this afternoon (before finishing RA2), almost anything seems less icky by comparison... (Also, damn that game is funny.)

Generals is pretty cool. Did you do all four RA2 campaigns?

Yep. I did the entire Yuri's Revenge Allied campaign in one afternoon and evening. (Mostly because in RA2, most of the missions don't take more than a hour tops, and there's way less of them.) I finished the last three missions of the Soviet YR in about three hours, if that. It's short. Definately compared to TS:Firestorm, finishing the last missions of which took three of four hours! (Though RA2 is less condusive to the same method of "capture everything!")

C&C 3. Do eeeeeeetttttttttttttttt!

(Speaking of modern RTS, have you tried Men of War? This game is one of the more realistically modelled RTS I seen yet.)

I'll look into it. (I'm still tempted to AI Wars, which I think you mentioned the last time.)

On the other hand, Sword of the Stars 2 is due out sometime in October.

Having recognized the Wit, Dedication, and Integrity (and, if I might add, uncanny beauty) that all the ponies of the fine language arts share, Shimmer had finally noticed me! *squee*
Even though she’s currently dating that... pony, Midnight, as soon as she talks to me, our eyes will meet, and we shall have other’s love for eternity!
It’s just like all those novels! I have to prove that I’m the better pony then the mare who, uh... she went to school with... and shared lots of time and bonding experiences with... and is a princess... and is the daughter of three most famous mares in Equestria... and is much more interesting than this paltry reporter.
But I fear not! I shall test true for my love! Also: I need to stop writing these in bushes while I’m following her. The thorns do hurt quite a bit. *ouch!*

By Celestia’s grace, Shimmer is just perfect! She smart, funny, a brillant writer and we totally dig each other! But, even though I shouldn’t, I’ve been getting some slight.......doubts.
Everytime I see her, she seems to always finish talking with that Reporter-pony, Whadda. Now Whadda is nice and all, but it’s just so consistent, and the way she always says that it’s “pony interest” for her newspaper is kinda suspicious....
Maybe I should just ask Trixie or Twilight about it. See what they think. They’ll probably give excellent advice! They always do! Yeah! (And if Whadda is going after Shimmer the library has the best combat spells in town.)

Either the OP has less views than the average would indicate, or your server indicates fewer views because the image gets stored in our caches as plays with that. Or both.
