You just have to like little Durkon and his lawfulness.

Haven't followed the comic for that long so I'm probably be wrong, but this seems to be the first time that the comic references something that happened very recently

I am loving the developing dynamic between Durkon and Durkles. or Nokrud or Durkula or HPoH or whatever.

I don't think anyone wants to know what I'm thinking if I see myself naked. Does that mean I possess some sort of mundane mind blank?

While I was already interested in Hell's greater plan, it's clear that it won't be trivial now.

I wonder how Hell perceives Xykon....

Sooo, Durkon himself wasn't specifically Hel's target but just an opportunity. Sounds logical thinking at it.

Hm. we haven't seen the father yet either.

    Parental/Family Issues In Comic: 8 maybe 9
    -Roy and Eugene-1
    -Elan and Tarquin-1
    -Nale and Tarquin-1
    -Haley and her father-1
    -Durkon and his mother-1 (maybe)
    -Vaarsuvius and her offspring-2
    -Shojo and Hinjo-1
    -Xykon and his parents-1

.....seriously the list of people who have family problems in one form or another is kind of ridiculous. though that might just be true of all adventurers. their profession generally isn't one conducive to healthy familial relationships.

doesn't mean Durkon has any issues, but really, no adventurer seems to have a healthy or normal family here.
I'm also on discord as "raziere".

So the HPOH doesn't like being inside Durkon's head any more than Durkon does. Interesting.

I think the logical conclusion is that she retired from the army and decided to have a child when she lost her arm in combat. Learning to do everything with her left hand would take some years, so that fits.

    Memo to Hel:

"Re: Recent motive rant of your minion.

"This sort of feeble excuse is why no-one has much sympathy for you in spite of your obvious parental handicap. Please note that other Dieties associated with Death and/or Destruction (cf, observed case of Nergal) have been shown as being able to attract Clerical followers. Perhaps your error is in the insistance on choosing, as vessels for your power on the material plane, such entities as Ghouls and Wights that, owing to their known predatory habits, are apt to be highly unpopular and likely to attract severe and terminal attention.

"Please note that it is news to us, and seems logically somewhat flawed, that a Cleric of Death must need be Undead.

"Please adapt your operating protocols accordingly that such unpleasantness as the Case of Brother D. Thundershield may be avoided in the future.

I like how Rich referenced the celebrity scandal in the last page. Which brings to mind. Did he do this comic to keep the comics moving. Or to make that joke?

You say that as though anyone who isn't a high-level adventuring party should be assumed to have on-demand access to level 7 clerical spells.

While I am not myself a parent, I believe most people would find holding an infant while cooking, instead of utilizing an advanced parenting aid called a cradle, rather appallingly negligent. Besides, whenever she lost her arm, Durkon's mother was established as having only one arm by the time she took Durkon to the surface for the first time.

No one worships Hel, as was mentioned here. That means literally not one single living person, ever. You have to worship a god in order to be their cleric—except in the case of undead, where she has a direct connection to their negative energy lifeforce. But she can't give them XP.
