L.A. Noir(Day 3)

The year is 1945, World War 2 has just ended. Soldiers are returning to L.A., leaving the horrible events behind them and expecting a peaceful life. They were wrong. They returned home to find L.A. to be a cesspool of crime. The Mob has grown stronger and civilians have been assaulted in broad daylight now, in addition to a large increase of drugs due to a army surplus ship being robbed. The Mob kills anyone that gets in their way and the police are swamped with cases. It's up to the citizens to preform street justice or die from the Mob.

Roles

In addition to roles, some people have been assigned as targets by the Mafia who hopes to later sink their teeth into the prominent crime steak that is L.A., they need these people out of the way and they hired a team of mercenaries to do so. These mercenaries have been dubbed: 'Team Secret' for their amazing way of being able to stay secret. There is no known information about them. Targets are chosen at random.
There's also some secret items, Titles to be handed out at the end(even a trophy too!).
This is expected to be heavy RP. Though with enough want from players I suppose that is subject to change.
Team Cops

Street Police You are a street policeman. Every day you and the other policeman vote to protect a single person(except for other members of your team) from lynching by taking them into protective custody till night. Alternatively you could instead take the person into protective custody for the night till morning and protect them from night kills. Your job is to protect the citizens and your fellow street police.

Undercover Cop You are the undercover cop. You start with a revolver. You may not blow your cover. You can use your revolver without cooldown. Your job is to take out the mob anyway possible.

L.A.P.D. Detective You are the detective for the Vice division. You start with a magnifying glass. You can use this magnifying glass without cooldown. Your job is to find the clues pointing towards members of the mob.

Citizen You are a citizen. Your job is to lync-I mean, preform street justice on the mob.

Victory Victory for Team Cops is achieved by killing all of Team Mob.

Team Mob

Assassin You are an assassin(one of two). You start out with a silenced pistol. You can use your silenced pistol without cooldown. Your job is to do the mob's dirtiest work.

Negotiator You are the negotiator. You 'negotiate' with fall guys and flakes to find out info. Once per night you can choose one person to find out more about. Your job is to help the assassin choose his targets.

Hired Muscle You are a hired muscle. Your job is to keep the heat off of the other members of the mob.

Victory Victory for Team Mob is achieved by reducing Team Cop's member numbers to equal your own.

Items

While there's a secret team there's also secret items. Certain people start out with these items(who exactly is chosen by random). However, a person cannot start with more than one item.
Items can be given to someone(though a person cannot have more than two items). A cooldown effects your ability to do any night action(for example, you might have a revolver you can use without cooldown and a switchblade you use with cooldown. You use the switchblade and have to wait through till the cooldown is over to use your revolver). Items are given to a random lynch mob member upon a death by lynching. Items are destroyed upon death by night kill.

Magnifying Glass: The Magnifying Glass essentially makes someone a seer, allowing them to pretty much scry(which is called investigating) on someone. Unless a person's role says otherwise, when used you have to wait a cooldown period of 1 day to use it again.

Revolver The revolver essentially makes someone into a werewolf, allowing them to kill someone at night. Unless a person's role says otherwise, when used you have to wait a cooldown period of 1 day.

-Kills/Investigating is to be sent in a PM to me or Gray Mage.
-Negotiators/Magnifying Glass Owners: Send a PM to me or Gray Mage for the person you wish to investigate(a.k.a. Scry).
-When a person dies their role is revealed.
-Killing/Investigating/Sending Items are done during night.

This is not the second Dragonspire Killers. Like I said in the last Dragonspire Killers thread it will be around December for when I make it and I gave you the name I would use for the thread.
This game is a more standard Structured Game and was designed with the hope of heavy RP in mind.

You could play the game L.A. Noir from Rockstar. It's set a couple years after WW2.
I found out a bit about that time from playing that game if I remember correctly.
Plus I've read plenty of books...

You can choose to RP as anything you'd like (of course, trying to keep the theme is advised ), but the roles, as in the list in the OP, are randomly assigned.

By perceived do you mean the RP identity? If so, yes. In fact, I'd say it'd be encouraged, since it makes it better for the other players to RP with you.

If you mean your role, then yes again. Of course, it might not necessarily be a good idea to do so.

If any of y'all have seen Shell Shocked, then that's the character. (If you haven't, it's a 40s-50s movie about a shell shocked soldier on leave and a murderess on parole who fall in love. Good stuff.)

Marty was your typical doughboy; he'd joined because he felt patriotic after watching Why We Fight,* and wanted to get in the war before it was too late. After getting into the Marines, though, and being selected for a few certain, select, missions, he found out the truth of war. Up close.

When he came back, he was lauded, awarded, and was offered a few jobs. Special Duties sergeant at a few bases, security advisor, mostly just the jobs he might have expected. After perusing the dismal and painful choices, he saw a small letter, written in a child's scrawl, with one word. "Help." The postmark was LA.

Marty drove cross-country as fast as he could, arrived in LA, finding the one-time Western Beachfront tourist town slightly altered. Nevertheless, he joined the local police corp, readying himself to achieve redemption.

Can't be a recurring character, as I A) don't have any characters besides my fly & B) the fly is still alive and in use in Classic.

But here:
An old war medic, returned. Can't find work, so spends his time patching up people hurt in this battle between the Mob and Citizens. A conscientious objector, but after his brother (another medic) was killed after coming home, Old Thompson seeks justice. Bloody Justice.

....Too over the top? didn't state just who he patches up/seeks revenge against, so Role neutral. This shouldn't be too bad.

Depending on how early I die, this could work.
