Thanks for your patience... I hope to have the new index up soon.

In addition to the chilly/scarf quote, The Giant On George R. R. Martin has also been proposed for the Index. I'd hate for a proposal to get lost between threads.

So, for the record: I've never read George R. R. Martin. I haven't watched Game of Thrones. I don't have HBO, for starters, and I haven't bought the DVDs. I am aware, second-hand, that apparently he kills off a lot of characters, sometimes all at once. I can't really say too much about that, though, because I'm not familiar with it.

I can say that I have read several reviews/articles about the work that makes me think that it's not for me, as I have no interest in "gritty realism" for its own sake, I almost exclusively want to read about actual heroes being actually heroic, and I prefer not to read extensive descriptions of meat dishes.

And I've never killed a developed character where that character's death wasn't a direct result of their own choices.

Can we change it to Desert Scrying Eye? If we really making a (semi-)sarcastic comment to al lthe people asking the question/trying to forestall people from asking by constantly seeing it on the First Page, we should probably use the term that a lot of people are using.

I'm probably missing some inside joke here, but how is this at all funny or relevant? It should probably say "was cast by Z" unless people want to claim that Z is some green floating orb, but it still doesn't make a lot of sense.

Just sayin': that line is going to be a lot less funny/interesting after the new compilation comes out and, as Rich virtually promised, a bonus strip explicitly shows Zzdtri casting the orb spell.

I agree. It's better for the subtitle to be funny, than to refer to an arbitrary factoid that nobody will recognize a month from now. So +1 vote for That's What HE Said.

Well, it probably will once Book 5 comes out. I don't know how long it will be until that happens, but it will probably be out several months before the end of Index II, at the earliest.
