Re: The Index of the Giant's Comments
I think the author's influences and non-influences should be fair game for inclusion. That the Giant has not read Prachett is interesting. His comments on The Last Airbender despite being interesting
are simply not relevant to OOTS (notwithstanding his request to specifically not include that comment).Spoiler(and make me wonder what he thinks of Aang suddenly regaining Avatar form as a Deus Ex at the very end. I thought that was the ultimate in ass-pulls)The laws of physics are not crying in a corner, they are bawling in the forums.
Thanks to half-halfling for the avatar

This thread will soon be locked. Please save the discussion for the next thread. It would be best to limit the conversation here to quote suggestions only.
Thanks for your patience... I hope to have the new index up soon."And yet, will we ever come to an end of discussion and talk if we think we must always reply to replies? For replies come from those who either cannot understand what is said to them, or are so stubborn and contentious that they refuse to give in even if they do understand." - St. Augustine

Re: The Index of the Giant's Comments
In addition to the chilly/scarf quote, The Giant On George R. R. Martin has also been proposed for the Index. I'd hate for a proposal to get lost between threads.

Re: The Index of the Giant's Comments
I propose we call the next thread:
"The Index of the Giant's Comments II: Electric Boogaloo".
As Elan might say, it's a Bardic tradition.
If not, add my vote to "That's what HE said!".

Re: The Index of the Giant's Comments
I, too, will vote for "The Scrying Orb Was Zz'dtri".
edit: though, if it wins, I recommend changing "orb" to "sensor" since that's the technical term for it in the rules.Last edited by Flame of Anor; 2013-11-06 at 10:26 PM.

Re: The Index of the Giant's Comments
Can we change it to Desert Scrying Eye? If we really making a (semi-)sarcastic comment to al lthe people asking the question/trying to forestall people from asking by constantly seeing it on the First Page, we should probably use the term that a lot of people are using.
*checks*
The Index of the Giant's Comments II: The Desert Scrying Eye Was Zz'dtri
does indeed fit the character limit for threads.
If we change it to that, it gets my vote.Concluded: The Stick Awards II: Second Edition

Re: The Index of the Giant's Comments
I would have voted for the Electric Boogaloo one, but it's clearly already lost.
Spoiler
So the song runs on, with shift and change,
Through the years that have no name,
And the late notes soar to a higher range,
But the theme is still the same.
Man's battle-cry and the guns' reply
Blend in with the old, old rhyme
That was traced in the score of the strata marks
While millenniums winked like campfire sparks
Down the winds of unguessed time. -- 4th Stanza, The Bad Lands, Badger Clark

Re: The Index of the Giant's Comments
Just sayin': that line is going to be a lot less funny/interesting after the new compilation comes out and, as Rich virtually promised, a bonus strip explicitly shows Zzdtri casting the orb spell.
