Not really. The Starcraft, Final Fantasy X, Pokemon, Phoenix Wright, and One Peice references are all small and only really bear a passing resemblance at best to their source (due to differing artstyles). I'm pretty sure that they would fall under Homages.

Hotdog is a common use term and can't be copyrighted in America (and America won't enforce a foreign copyright of Hotdog). I am unsure about other parts of the world.

And Russia can't sue at all. It can press charges against Elagune if they felt that his depiction of Russia was sufficiently damning to as provide a negative light to the international community. Canada has a better chance of actually pressing charges because it takes place there.

I said 'by that logic'. I was trying to demonstrate that it made no sense.

though technically anybody can sue anybody for any reason. Whether or not a court sees it or makes a ruling in your favor is another matter entirely, but you can still file a lawsuit.
